Chaos

Chapter 380: Chaos

Bang~

Amid a burst of shattered light particles, something streaked past the corner of his eye.

Another piece of Hansen’s defensive equipment had been rendered useless.

But taking advantage of that opening, he relied on his incredible speed to narrowly dodge the hook that pierced straight through the ground behind him.

He appeared directly on a nearby rooftop.

Too strong!

It was far more than just a little stronger than the files had indicated!

The original Abomination had been powerful enough that even an expert who went in blind and confronted him head-on could easily be beaten to a pulp.

But with cutting-edge intelligence, exploiting his weaknesses and countering him to keep him restrained should have been effortless.

So what the hell was this thing?

It looked clumsy and bloated, even fatter than the initial reports had described.

Its speed was indeed not fast!

Yet the black threads constantly spilling from its wounds and wrapping around everything, the branches that occasionally burst from its body, and the hook in its hand—

They could completely seal off the surrounding space, eliminating every disadvantage of its lack of speed.

If he had not used that life-saving item, he probably still would not have been able to break through that airtight blockade.

It was practically a mobile battle fortress. Once someone fell within its combat range, it was nearly impossible to deal with.

Thinking of the value of the life-saving item he had lost, Hansen felt a faint ache in his heart. Even if he completed this mission, the Legion’s reward probably would not make up for his losses.

He would have to see whether he could apply for hardship compensation and get the Legion to reimburse half of it.

If that worked, he could barely accept it.

By his calculations, he had stalled for long enough. Those people should have succeeded and gotten out by now.

His thoughts raced as he looked toward the breach in the laboratory. A huge, fat creature over six meters tall was stuck in the five-meter-wide opening, its tiny arms flailing constantly. Yet without anything to brace against, it could not squeeze itself out…

"What the hell is this thing…"

Hansen muttered blankly, his face filled with confusion. This was not part of the script.

"Lord Hansen, save me!"

"Lord Hansen, save my life!"

"Lord Hansen, let’s play together."

"Come have fun with us, Lord Hansen."

Faces split open one after another across the six-meter-tall fatty’s body, each scrambling to speak. Viscous green fluid constantly leaked from their faces.

Their cheeks and bodies were stitched together by black threads. Their skin was smooth and glossy, as though smeared with lard, creating an indescribably disgusting sight.

Moreover, every face seemed to retain its own will. The one at the very top was Il, whom Hansen had thought rather highly of before!

"Lord Hansen, let’s play together…"

At last, the many different voices gradually converged, forming a thick, overlapping voice composed of multiple frequencies.

Just hearing it sent goosebumps crawling over his skin for no reason.

Run!

That was the thought that flashed through Hansen’s mind instantly.

Just one of them had already beaten him half to death, forcing him to spend a life-saving item before he could escape.

This thing’s power had exceeded all expectations!

Perhaps an expert of the same level who specialized in large-scale attacks could handle it, but someone like him, an assassin who depended on speed, was completely countered by it.

Fortunately, their speed…

He looked up at the sky, which had somehow lost all moonlight. At some point, the entire surrounding street had been enveloped by a forest.

Even the area overhead had been completely sealed by intertwining vines.

The point where the roots that had split apart the ground converged was precisely that short-limbed monster stuck in the five-meter hole…

"Lord Hansen…"

A blooming flower bud seemed to transform into a constantly twisting, hideous face, appearing behind Hansen.

"Let’s play together…"

Stiffly turning around to look at that disgusting, grotesque human-faced flower, Hansen’s hand gripping the sword hilt bulged with veins, while cold sweat dripped down his forehead…

"It still loses its mind. What a pity."

After closing his eyes and receiving the memories shared in real time by the Human Path, Xu Yue opened them again. He was sitting in an armed helicopter alongside General Ross, and a trace of regret appeared on his face.

In terms of strength, although its movement speed was slow, that stitched-together composite creature, fused with First Hokage’s Cells solution, Super Soldier Serum, and Hulk blood, possessed exceptionally formidable combat power.

So long as it was not bombarded by overwhelming long-range firepower or faced an expert with extremely powerful large-scale attacks, ordinary experts who relied primarily on individual combat would all meet their end at its hands.

It was just that whether they were natives of this world or Reincarnators, anyone subjected to so many different fused powers at once would completely lose their sanity. It was unknown whether this was the space’s control over power or some other reason.

"What? What exactly happened? Young men, don’t panic yet."

At that moment, General Ross in the helicopter had also received intelligence from the front lines.

It had been sent by a military patrol vehicle stationed there.

The two stitched Abominations were slaughtering everyone in the area.

The entire street had fallen into a sea of flames.

"I need direct intelligence. Turn on the camera!"

General Ross said steadily.

The screen inside the helicopter then displayed an image.

It showed the second, multi-faced Abomination extending one of its tiny arms to grab Hansen, whose abdomen had been pierced straight through by a branch and whose body was covered in wounds and blood.

Hansen’s face was now marked by an outward-flipped wound that made him look exceptionally ferocious, and he continued struggling desperately.

Yet every time he struggled, a section of branch would burst from the surface of his body.

Even the powerful physique of a Reincarnator expert could not fully withstand the shoots sprouting from inside his body.

Or rather, it was precisely because of his resilient body that he was suffering even more now.

An ordinary Reincarnator struck by such an attack would likely be pierced through and die almost instantly, but he would not.

Once he was clasped in those tiny arms, countless black threads surged from every wound, beginning to weave Hansen into its own body.

The mouth at the very top kept spitting huge mouthfuls of disgusting, corrosive pus at the bound Hansen. White smoke rose wherever it landed on his skin, as though it intended to completely absorb him into itself.

The scene was indescribably revolting.

Then the camera turned, shifting to the first Abomination, the one transformed from Emil Blonsky.

It seemed to be frantically searching for opponents, roaring constantly as it tossed countless vehicles aside. Most of the destruction on the street had been caused by it.

For some reason, the surroundings had turned into a forest.

As the helicopter turned, they could even directly see that sudden, primitive forest.

"What exactly is going on…"

General Ross could not help letting out a groan.

"Major Emil probably used something without authorization to fuse himself with Hulk’s power."

Xu Yue seized the opportunity to display his professionalism, his expression also filled with concern…

Banner, who had already awakened, could no longer bear to watch. He stepped forward, his face grave.

"This began because of me, so I’ll be the one to end it. It seems no one but me can deal with these monsters…"
