Chapter 1: Heart-Wrenching Betrayal

At night, under the starry sky on the peak of Yun Luo Mountain, the breeze was cool, and all was silent.

A hint of sweetness mingled with the tenderness in Su Luo's eyes as she gazed affectionately at the man before her: "Yun Qi, after we quit the organization, how about we settle down here?"

Yun Qi's sword-like brows and phoenix eyes held an intoxicating gentleness: "Girl, do you want to quit that much?"

Su Luo turned to gaze at the night sky in the distance, then looked back with a bright, radiant smile in her eyes: "For these past ten-plus years, it's been nothing but training or killing, always on the edge of life and death, without a single moment of peace. Now, I'm tired of this kind of life and really want to get out quickly. Don't you want to as well?"

As she spoke, Su Luo took out the small brocade box in her hand and shook it in front of Yun Qi: "Guess what's inside?"

Su Luo's eyes were sparkling, brimming with a look of happiness.

Immersed in the longing for a beautiful future, she did not see the flash of sinister light in Yun Qi's eyes.

"The Dragon Ring? So you've already obtained it? How is that possible? When did this happen?" Yun Qi's phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, though his gaze remained filled with intoxicating tenderness.

"It was during the time you went to Europe and America to carry out a mission. I got lucky, so I obtained it. This time, will you quit with me, okay?" Su Luo held Yun Qi's hand, her eyes full of hope. "We'll return the Dragon Ring to the organization, and then we can settle down here and live happily ever after, okay?"

"Okay." He pressed a gentle kiss to Su Luo's smooth forehead, and his strong, powerful arms pulled her into his embrace, holding her tightly.

Resting against the hollow of his shoulder and collarbone, Su Luo's eyes were filled with a blissful smile.

Childhood sweethearts for over a decade, they had walked hand-in-hand through a hail of bullets. He was her most important family, the person she trusted most. Now, she was pregnant with his child, and after quitting the organization… Suddenly, Su Luo's body stiffened. Her eyes flooded with tragic pain, and she widened her eyes, filled with unbelievable despair.

She shoved Yun Qi away and looked down.

At this moment, a sharp dagger was embedded in her chest. Blood gushed out along the blade, soaking her thin, plain-colored dress. The blood on her chest looked like a bewitchingly blooming Spider Lily—scorching and eerie.

As an assassin, Yun Qi's dagger strike was precise, without the slightest error.

Su Luo stumbled and fell to her knees on the gravel-strewn ground. Her beautiful eyes were filled with shock, despair, and disbelief. She truly had not expected that the man she trusted most, the man who claimed to love her, would ruthlessly take the dagger she had given him as a birthday gift and plunge it back into her heart!

So resolute, cold, and merciless.

"Why…" She opened her mouth, but because of her despair, she couldn't make a sound.

Yun Qi curled his lips in a cold, mocking sneer: "Su Luo, you are simply stupid. You know so many of the organization's secrets; do you think the organization would let you go? To actually think of quitting—how naive and childish! Besides, how could you be so naive as to think I would quit with you?"

"…" Su Luo smiled bitterly in despair.

Just as Yun Qi said, she was indeed too naive and childish to have actually believed he would quit the organization with her.

"In your next life, don't be so stupid!" Yun Qi picked up the small brocade box that had fallen to the ground, cast a cold glance at the pained and desperate Su Luo, and turned to leave resolutely.

"Yun Qi, aren't you also being naive?" Su Luo's cold voice rang out behind him.

Seeing Yun Qi stop, Su Luo laughed: "What do you think is inside the brocade box?" Yun Qi opened the box, and the next instant, his expression changed drastically. "Where is the Dragon Ring? Where did you hide it?"

A wealthy employer had offered three billion dollars to commission the organization to find this Dragon Ring. If they couldn't find it in the end, not only would they not get the bounty, but it would also be a huge blow to the organization's reputation.

Su Luo stood on the edge of the cliff, looking down into the bottomless darkness below. The corners of her mouth bloomed with a triumphant yet sorrowful smile, as beautiful as an Epiphyllum blooming in the wind and rain: "Yun Qi, you will never get the Dragon Ring. Also, don't cry at my grave; you'll dirty the path of my Reincarnation."

As she spoke, Su Luo leapt, her entire body jumping into the dark cliff.

Below the cliff was the sea with waves crashing against the shore.
