Chapter 10: Practice
Chapter 10: Cultivation
Moonlight was like silver, bright and warm.
The lake shimmered, mist rising, and wisps of Divine Radiance intertwined, incredibly brilliant, forming beautiful rainbows that dazzled the eyes.
At the same time, the fragrance of divine medicine was rich and enchanting, full of vibrant life. This was the essence of the Divine Dao, containing the vitality of life, making cultivation twice as effective within it.
After only half a day of soaking, Lin Fan felt comfortable all over, his blood Qi surged, as if reborn, washing away impurities, leaving his Physical Body flawless and pure.
“If only I could soak here every day, even without cultivating, I could live a hundred years and be immune to evil Qi!” Lin Fan murmured to himself, deeply feeling the magic of this place.
Currently, he was just a Mortal who didn't understand cultivation, yet it had such a great effect. If he became a Cultivator and then soaked here, the benefits he would gain would definitely be even more astonishing.
“As expected of a Holy Land for cultivation. Just this Immortal Lake alone is enough to cultivate many Prodigy Disciples.”
Lin Fan was very envious, wishing he could soak here every day. Compared to the ruins of the Supreme Dojo, it was like heaven and earth, a Phoenix nest versus a dog kennel.
This was the immortal cultivation Holy Land he yearned for, but unfortunately, he had boarded a pirate ship, and it would be difficult to disembark.
As dawn approached, Qi Daolin returned, a smile on his lips, looking very happy. He led Lin Fan away from here and back to that dilapidated mountain gate.
Broken walls, overgrown weeds, a scene of desolation and decay, without even a place to live. If someone said it was a primeval jungle, people would believe it without doubt.
“From now on, every morning you will study bone inscriptions with me. The rest of the time will be for cultivation, and in the evening, you will soak in the Immortal Pool,” Qi Daolin said solemnly from the Dao platform, radiating an Aura of absolute supremacy.
“Good!” Lin Fan agreed without hesitation, his eyes lighting up. He was very happy about this, even willing to stay in the Immortal Pool every day, and never tire of it.
He swore it wasn't because he heard that the Celestial Immortal Academy's Immortal Pool had a rule that even-numbered days were for female Disciples, which made him exceptionally yearn for it.
“Also, once you embark on the path of cultivation, you must not relax. You must persevere. Especially as a successor of my Supreme Dojo, if you cannot become Supreme over the world in the future, I will expel you from my sect!” Qi Daolin warned him with solemn authority.
Lin Fan felt disdain inwardly. This old man hadn't even become Supreme over the world, yet he was demanding that I rule the world. He was a bit speechless.
But he still said seriously, “I promise I will persevere to the end!”
“Very good!” Qi Daolin smiled and formulated a series of training plans for him. His days were almost fully packed; apart from meal times, he had no rest.
Lin Fan was instantly dumbfounded. Was this plan designed for a human? Climbing mountains against torrents, running thousands of li with giant boulders on his back without stopping—even a plowing ox wouldn't play like this.
This was inhumane 007!
Moreover, he still had to fight fierce beasts, practically rubbing against the edge of death!
And this was just the first stage; more brutal things awaited him later.
“Now, let us officially begin cultivation. I will explain the bone inscriptions to you. Listen carefully and do not be distracted!” Qi Daolin said sternly, instantly changing his demeanor to that of a strict teacher.
Lin Fan immediately sat cross-legged. This was the first lesson on his journey of cultivation, of extraordinary significance.
“Bone inscriptions are mysterious symbols that possess unfathomable and incredible power. Once a living being masters and utilizes these symbols, the user can gain strength far beyond ordinary people, even changing the heavens and earth…”
As Qi Daolin spoke, he demonstrated. Brilliant symbols appeared in his palm, erupting with a captivating power, and a metallic texture. One moment flames shot out, the next lightning flashed, truly wondrous!
At this moment, Lin Fan was dumbfounded, unable to recover for a long time. He stared intently at those runes, as if they possessed a magical power that made him deeply engrossed and fascinated.
The runes were too mysterious, possessing extraordinary power. This was the structure of the Origin of heaven and earth, and also the manifestation of the Dao. Living beings in the world only truly touched the power of cultivation by mastering them.
However, very few living beings could truly master and utilize runes. This required Comprehension Ability. Some people might struggle to learn even one rune for most of their lives, let alone utilize it.
Yet, even if they learned runes, most only stayed at a superficial level of application, not knowing how to use them flexibly, or even the more difficult task of innovation.
The strength of a person was inseparable from runes. It could be said that runes permeated a Cultivator's entire life; the stronger a person, the more numerous and profound the runes they mastered.
Lin Fan fell into contemplation and deliberation, immersed in the ocean of runes, constantly recalling those few simple symbols, as if to engrave them in his heart.
Qi Daolin smiled as he saw Lin Fan so quickly enter a state of enlightenment. For Lin Fan to achieve this upon his first contact with runes was enough to prove his extraordinary talent.
But he still warned, “Mastering runes is not something that can be achieved in a short time. Take your time, do not be impatient, and do not exhaust your mind.”
Comprehending runes was not a simple process and was accompanied by unexpected dangers. Wrong methods and eagerness for quick results could potentially cause self-inflicted harm.
Suddenly, a “buzz” sound made Qi Daolin dumbfounded.
He saw a luminous spot appear in Lin Fan's palm, revealing a strange, brilliant symbol containing an inexplicable power.
“Dao Master, how do you think I've learned?” Lin Fan said with a childlike smile, waving the rune in his hand, stirring the air and emitting a buzzing sound.
At this moment, Qi Daolin's eyebrows twitched, astonished on the spot. In less than an hour, this kid had mastered a rune and put it to use.
It was too fast! He had only scratched the surface and hadn't even explained how to control runes, yet Lin Fan had already learned it. He seriously doubted if this person was learning bone inscriptions for the first time. Or were all Primordials this fast?
Qi Daolin compared him to himself, and the gap was too wide. He recalled that when he first encountered runes, it took him half a month to grasp his first rune, which was already considered very fast.
“It's just average, but still inferior to some Geniuses. You must not become arrogant!” Qi Daolin said, feigning composure to hide his inner surprise.
“Oh, I will work hard.” Lin Fan replied, and began studying the inscriptions again.
At the same time, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart. The Prodigies of the world were too strong. He thought his comprehension speed was already very fast, but he didn't expect to only be considered average.
“Hehe, I've really found a treasure! With this Comprehension Ability, how can my Supreme Dojo not prosper!” Qi Daolin secretly rejoiced, yet then thought, “No, I can't let him become arrogant and complacent. I must temper and suppress him well.”
Time flew by; in the blink of an eye, the morning passed, and it was now afternoon.
At this time, Lin Fan was carrying giant boulders, hundreds of catties heavier than himself, running through the wilderness, undergoing Physical Body training.
Because the first realm of cultivation—the Blood Moving Realm—required continuous tempering of the Physical Body, making the flesh as strong as a treasure artifact.
Of course, the Blood Moving Realm was not merely about tempering the Physical Body; it also involved comprehending bone inscriptions and transforming the Origin of heaven and earth into Divine Radiance to nourish the flesh and blood.
The strength of this realm was also very clear: the weak had only a few thousand catties of destructive power, while the strong had tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of catties of destructive power, enough to cleave mountains and shatter rocks.
And there was almost no limit.
But there was a standard for Prodigies: a pure Physical Body with a single arm capable of wielding 100,000 catties of strength. All those with aspirations to become Supreme among their peers in the future had to reach this threshold. This was also Qi Daolin's requirement for him.
