Chapter 150: Lunch Box Business Cancelled

"Getting rid of the lunch box business means losing out on over twenty thousand yuan in revenue every month."

"Today is truly a double celebration!"

"Put them over by the staff cafeteria first!"

Chen Mo said, leading the way out of the office and bringing Pang Tao to the staff cafeteria.

He gestured toward an empty space behind the cafeteria and said,

"Just put them there!"

Pang Tao took a look at the location, first taking several large wire mesh frames off the truck, and then quickly began assembling them in the empty space Chen Mo had pointed out.

"Do you need any help? I can call a few people for you."

Chen Mo asked. He had requested this large iron cage from Xu Zhengming; after all, this was inside the factory with people coming and going, so it was safer to keep the dogs enclosed in a cage.

"No need, Director Chen. I brought all the tools; it's easy to assemble. You should go handle your own business."

Pang Tao hurriedly waved his hand.

Chen Mo watched carefully for a while and, realizing Pang Tao truly didn't need any help, turned and entered the cafeteria.

He intended to tell Wang Maonian in the cafeteria that, starting from this afternoon, the company's lunch box sales business would be cancelled.

Unexpectedly, Li Shen was also in the cafeteria.

This actually made things easier; he could inform the instigator at the same time.

"Director Chen, do you have any instructions for me?"

Li Shen was squatting on the ground, organizing disposable lunch boxes, when he noticed Director Chen approaching and hurriedly stood up.

"What are you doing?"

Chen Mo looked at Li Shen as he stood up and asked curiously.

He had to keep a close eye on this guy to make sure he didn't pull any more stunts.

"Oh, the disposable lunch boxes are running out, so I'm checking the quantity to prepare for another purchase."

Li Shen picked up the bag containing the disposable lunch boxes from the floor.

Chen Mo took a look and saw that there were indeed not many disposable lunch boxes left in the bag.

But it didn't matter how many were left; there would be no more lunch boxes to sell from now on.

Chen Mo thought to himself, smiling as he looked at Li Shen.

"There's no need to buy these lunch boxes; they won't be needed anymore."

Seeing Li Shen's puzzled look, he continued.

"Starting from today, the company's lunch box sales business is officially cancelled."

"But Director Chen, if you cancel the lunch box business, the leftover food will go to waste!"

Li Shen said hurriedly.

Upon hearing this, Chen Mo waved his hand.

"It won't be wasted. I've brought over a few dogs, so from now on, the company's leftovers can just be fed to them."

"The dogs are currently placed behind the staff cafeteria."

Feed them to dogs?

Li Shen's expression was a bit strange. Although there was nothing wrong with what Director Chen was doing,

the thought of those lunch boxes that were fought over daily by people in the industrial park now being fed to dogs just felt a bit off.

Curious, he went behind the cafeteria and saw a middle-aged man installing an iron cage, while five dogs were tied up on a truck in front of the cafeteria.

Clearly, these were the dogs Director Chen had brought.

"Let me introduce you. This is Pang Tao, the person in charge of a new project I'm investing in."

"This is Li Shen, currently the head of the procurement and logistics department at the Garment factory."

Chen Mo led Li Shen to Pang Tao and introduced them to each other.

"Hello, please take care of me in the future."

Pang Tao hurriedly put down his work and shook hands with Li Shen.

"Brother Pang, you're too polite."

Li Shen said, and began helping with the iron fence.

After a while, the two of them finished setting up the fence together.

Pang Tao moved the dogs from the truck into the enclosure and looked at Chen Mo.

"Director Chen, I'll be heading back now."

"Alright!"

Chen Mo nodded, watched Pang Tao leave, and then returned to his office.

Li Shen looked at the five dogs familiarizing themselves with their new environment, then walked back to the cafeteria.

Looking at the few remaining disposable lunch boxes on the floor, he couldn't help but sigh.

His lunch box business was completely ruined!

After thinking for a moment, he threw the few remaining disposable lunch boxes from the bag into a nearby trash can.

"Why did you throw the lunch boxes away? What will we use to pack the meals later?"

Wang Maonian had just finished preparing lunch and walked out of the kitchen, only to see Li Shen throwing the disposable lunch boxes into the trash.

"They won't be needed anymore, and there aren't many left, so I just threw them away."

"Why won't they be needed?"

Wang Maonian looked at Li Shen in confusion, wondering if they weren't going to need them to sell lunch boxes later.

Li Shen looked at Wang Maonian's confused expression and explained.

"Director Chen has cancelled the lunch box business. He adopted five dogs from a cat and dog rescue center, and from now on, all the leftovers will be fed to them."

He had learned about this while helping Pang Tao set up the fence.

Hearing Li Shen's reply, Wang Maonian couldn't help but exclaim.

"Director Chen has such a kind heart. Not only is he good to his employees, but he's also so compassionate toward stray cats and dogs."

"Indeed!"

Li Shen agreed.

He had initially thought Director Chen just wanted to keep dogs, but after chatting with Pang Tao, he realized it was all for those stray cats and dogs.

He also learned from Pang Tao that the new project was related to stray cats and dogs as well.

Director Chen was truly so compassionate.

Li Shen suddenly had a bright idea: couldn't he make a short video about this and post it?

Then he could visit the cat and dog rescue center. Director Chen had donated 500,000 in cat and dog food; he could film a video to document that.

Director Chen was noble and simply did good deeds without seeking fame or fortune.

But as his subordinate, he had to consider things for Director Chen.

"Now that the lunch box business is gone, won't you have even less to do?"

Wang Maonian teased. He often heard Li Shen complaining that his daily work was too idle.

Now, he didn't even have the lunch box business.

"How could I have nothing to do? Can't I still make short videos to promote the company?"

Li Shen said, feeling relieved. It was fortunate he had found a new task; otherwise, he would really be idle.

Besides, now that he didn't have the lunch box business, he could focus wholeheartedly on making short videos to promote the Garment factory.

Just like that, the two chatted for a while longer until the Garment factory finally finished for the day.

Batches of employees arrived at the staff cafeteria and lined up for their meal.

By now, including the newly hired staff, the Garment factory had over 80 workshop employees, and the cafeteria was always very lively during meal times.

Li Shen also got a meal and sat at a table to eat.

After finishing, he didn't leave.

After all, the lunch box business was now cancelled, but those who planned to buy lunch boxes didn't know that yet.

So he had to stay and wait for those who wanted to buy lunch boxes to arrive so he could inform them.

Just like that, around six o'clock, Li Shen stood at the window where lunch boxes used to be sold and looked into the distance.

He saw a few scattered figures sprinting toward this side.

This scene played out every day; after all, the number of lunch boxes was limited. If you arrived late, you really wouldn't get any.

But this time, no matter how fast they ran, it was useless.

Soon, a young man with short hair ran up to the window, panting as he shouted,

"Brother Shen, give me five lunch boxes."
