Chapter 151: Pet Performance

"I'm sorry, but we won't be selling boxed lunches here anymore."

Li Shen looked at the young man at the window with some apology, his heart feeling a bit reluctant.

He had even run until he broke a sweat just to get a meal.

"Brother Shen, why? Is it not profitable? You can raise the price. I'll still buy it even if the price goes up; your boxed lunches are really delicious."

The young man said with a serious expression.

The food in this canteen could be said to be the most delicious in the entire park.

If it were suddenly gone, they would have to go back to eating those tasteless set meals every day.

"It's not a matter of price. In the future, the canteen won't have any extra food to make boxed lunches."

"How could there be none?"

"This… anyway, there just isn't any. Thank you for liking our canteen's food, but we won't be selling boxed lunches to the public anymore."

Li Shen thought for a moment but still didn't reveal the truth; he was afraid these people would overthink it.

He watched the young man leave.

Soon, several more groups of people came to the window.

Upon learning that boxed lunches would no longer be sold here, they all left with disappointed expressions.

At the entrance of the staff canteen,

Wang Juan carried the leftovers out of the staff canteen, walked into the hallway, and looked towards the back of the canteen.

Sure enough, she saw a large dog cage with a few dogs moving around inside.

When did these dogs arrive? Wang Juan felt a bit surprised.

If Master Wang hadn't asked her to feed the leftovers to the dogs, she wouldn't have even known the company was keeping dogs.

She looked down at the braised pork, roast chicken, and other dishes in the bucket; feeding them to dogs like this was truly too extravagant.

"Big sister, is the food in this bucket from the canteen?"

A middle-aged man passing by happened to see the food in the bucket. Although it was all mixed together, given how hearty the food was, it could only be from this canteen.

Didn't they say there was no extra food? Why were there two big buckets of it now?

"Oh! Yes, it is."

Hearing someone ask, Wang Juan replied casually.

Then, she carried the two buckets of food over to the dog cage and poured it all into the feeding trough that had already been prepared.

The middle-aged man on the side of the road stood stunned, watching the food that could have been sold as boxed lunches now being frantically snatched up by five dogs.

A nameless sorrow rose from the bottom of his heart.

So, "no extra food to sell" meant that all the extra food was fed to the dogs.

He looked down at the boxed lunch he had just bought from outside and couldn't help but think of a saying.

What I eat is not even as good as what a dog eats,

No, five dogs.

Corner Cats and Dogs Rescue Station,

Pang Tao got out of the car, feeling excited, and walked into the courtyard of the rescue station while humming a little tune.

Thinking about how one day the Pet Park would develop into a scale even larger than Disney, he felt the future was bright.

Thinking of what President Chen said, "Nothing in the world is difficult for one who sets their mind to it," he felt it made a lot of sense.

He had to make sure to write this down.

"Pang Tao, you didn't let President Chen invest in that project, did you?"

Seeing Pang Tao enter the room, Xu Zhengming hurriedly asked.

When he left this morning, he had instructed him not to let President Chen invest in this project.

He couldn't let such a kind-hearted boss take such a big risk.

"President Chen invested, and he invested five million!"

Pang Tao replied casually and then started rummaging around the room.

"Didn't I instruct you not to let President Chen invest?"

Xu Zhengming said, sounding a bit anxious.

"I'll explain it to you in detail later. First, help me find my set of calligraphy tools."

"I'm talking to you about serious business; what are you looking for calligraphy tools for?"

"You'll know in a moment."

Pang Tao didn't even look up, continuing to rummage through cabinets and boxes.

Soon, he found a wooden box in a corner.

He took out a roll of paper, a brush, and other tools, then laid the paper flat on the table in the room.

Xu Zhengming took a deep breath and watched silently as Pang Tao busied himself; he wanted to see how the other man would explain President Chen's investment.

Seeing that Pang Tao had prepared the ink, he began to write on the paper.

Soon, a sentence appeared on the paper.

Xu Zhengming whispered: "Nothing in the world is difficult for one who sets their mind to it."

"How about it, Brother Xu? These are the words President Chen gave me. I've decided to frame them."

Pang Tao held up the calligraphy he had just written and showed it to Xu Zhengming.

Looking at the crooked and messy calligraphy, Xu Zhengming was speechless. You've only been self-studying calligraphy for half a month; don't you have any idea what it looks like?

"The sentence is good, but the calligraphy… it needs more practice."

"But what does this have to do with President Chen's investment?"

"Of course it has something to do with it."

Pang Tao carefully placed the calligraphy on the table, waiting for the ink to dry.

"President Chen said that investment projects are always risky, but he is very optimistic about the Pet Park project, and of course, he also has a lot of confidence in me."

"You?"

Xu Zhengming looked at Pang Tao with some doubt, his expression anxious.

"Aren't you worried that you'll lose all five million of President Chen's money?"

"I was a bit worried at first, but after some encouragement from President Chen, I feel it's worth a try."

"Just based on the fact that neither you nor I graduated from high school?"

"Just based on this!"

Pang Tao's eyes firmed up, and he pointed to the sentence on the table.

"I think President Chen is right. Life will always have difficulties, just like when we established the Corner Cats and Dogs Rescue Station. Wasn't it full of difficulties at the beginning? But we persisted and made it through."

"Did we rely on our educational background back then? How could that be? We relied on our wholehearted dedication. Back then, because the medical expenses for the cats and dogs were too high, we went to the Pet Hospital to learn some simple medical care knowledge. We didn't have money to build dog cages, so I built them myself with stones. Whatever problem we encountered, we just went and learned how to solve it."

"And isn't President Chen's current project just like a larger Corner Cats and Dogs Rescue Station? I want to try, and on the way here, I also thought of how to build the Pet Park."

Xu Zhengming looked at Pang Tao's serious expression, was silent for a moment, and then slowly said.

"What do you plan to do?"

Since the contract had already been signed, any further reproaches would be useless and would only erode the bond between the two brothers.

All they could do now was work together to make this project a success.

Hearing Xu Zhengming's question, Pang Tao exhaled and spoke slowly.

"I've thought about it. If we just make a simple park for cats and dogs, it really won't be very attractive. We can add some interesting activities."

"Look at oceanariums; they have dolphin shows. Circuses also have all kinds of animal performances. We can also have some performance programs in the Pet Park."
