Chapter 162: Gifting the Star

The spear body was pitch black, a full thousand meters tall, with a snow-white blade sharp as a ray of light.

At the tip of the spear was an almost imperceptible crack, as if it had once endured a brutal battle.

The long spear hovered silently in the Void Realm, exuding a heart-palpitating, ferocious Aura, like a sleeping giant beast ready to awaken at any moment.

"This is my personal weapon—the God-Extinguishing Spear."

Shuo Leng's voice carried a hint of pride.

"What is your name? Fellow clansman."

"Chu Yuan."

The main body said indifferently.

Shuo Leng nodded, raised her hand, and waved it. The God-Extinguishing Spear turned into a streak of golden light, drifting slowly toward Chu Yuan's main body.

"You are clearly already an adult, yet I see you do not have a personal weapon. From this moment on, this spear is passed on to you as a Legacy."

She paused, then added: "I believe that fragment should be in your hands, right? Otherwise, you would not have been able to find this place."

Chu Yuan's main body raised his hand and took out that grey-green fragment. As soon as the fragment flew out, it trembled slightly, then shed the radiance on its surface and turned into a streak of light, flying straight toward the God-Extinguishing Spear.

The instant the fragment collided with the spear body, the entire Void Realm shook violently.

An earth-shattering hum erupted from the God-Extinguishing Spear, like a giant beast that had been asleep for eons suddenly opening its eyes. Golden light burst forth from the spear body, illuminating the entire Void Realm as bright as day.

The light was intense and overbearing, carrying an extremely savage and ancient Aura, like the sound of war drums on an ancient battlefield, causing one's spirit to tremble.

The crack on the God-Extinguishing Spear slowly healed after the fragment merged with it. The patterns on the spear body became clearer, like a pulse being reawakened, beating gently in the Void Realm.

The next moment, the God-Extinguishing Spear turned into a streak of light and flew straight toward Chu Yuan's main body.

It automatically shrank as it approached. The main body raised his hand and grabbed the spear shaft. His body was slightly shaken by the impact, and ripples spread out in the void beneath his feet.

He looked down at the long spear in his hand and was silent for a moment. Then, he turned his wrist, and the long spear traced several sharp arcs in the Void Realm. Wherever the spear passed, deep cracks were left in the void.

He struck it down fiercely, the butt of the spear slamming into the void. The entire space trembled violently under that blow, and cracks spread in all directions like a spiderweb, only to slowly heal after he retracted the spear.

"A good spear."

Chu Yuan's main body spoke, his tone rarely carrying a hint of approval.

Shuo Leng's mouth turned up slightly, and a flash of pride appeared in her eyes: "That goes without saying; this is my personal weapon, after all. But from now on, it belongs to you. Slowly imbue and refine it with your own Ancient God Origin and Ancient God blood, and it will only become more comfortable to use. I hope it does not gather dust in your hands."

Chu Yuan's main body performed a few more spear flourishes, the spear tip leaving several silver-white arcs in the Void Realm. Then, he flipped his wrist, and the long spear turned into a streak of golden light, sinking into the center of his forehead.

He closed his eyes, sensing the long spear hovering silently in his Sea of Consciousness, creating a faint resonance with his Ancient God Origin.

"This counts as the first gift I am giving you."

Shuo Leng's voice sounded again, weaker than before.

"Besides this, I have another gift I can give you, but I require you to agree to one request."

Chu Yuan's main body opened his eyes and looked at her: "What request?"

Shuo Leng's gaze became deep, like a candle flame burning to its end, intense and resolute: "I can pass my Ancient God Stars to you as a Legacy, allowing you to ascend in one step. But I want you, when your strength reaches its Peak in the future, to find the person who ambushed me back then, kill them, and take revenge for me."

Chu Yuan was silent for a moment.

He had already thoroughly probed her with his Divine Thought just now, and Shuo Leng indeed had no malice toward him whatsoever.

That goodwill from a fellow clansman, although wrapped in her rough personality, was very real.

He nodded: "I can do that."

Shuo Leng smiled.

That smile was very bright, like the first ray of sunlight after snow melts, carrying a sense of relief from having put down all burdens.

She had long been prepared for all of this, just waiting for the arrival of a fellow clansman, and at this moment, she did not hesitate in the slightest.

Such was her personality; once she had decided on something, she would never change it.

The next moment, her Aura exploded violently.

Out of the seven Ancient God Stars, two instantly detached from the center of her forehead, like two stars stripped from the starry sky, spinning as they flew out.

At the same time, a drop of golden essence blood gushed from her chest, merging with those two star points, turning into a blinding golden light that shot straight toward Chu Yuan's main body.

Chu Yuan's main body's expression changed, and before he could think, he was struck by that golden light.

He only felt a power so vast it was unimaginable surging into his body, like a rushing river pouring into a narrow stream, sending waves of tearing pain through his Meridians.

His body flickered in the golden light, and the four purple star points at the center of his forehead spun frantically, attempting to accommodate the newly surged power.

Beside the fourth star point, the phantom of a fifth star point was slowly solidifying.

From nothingness to blurriness, from blurriness to clarity, like a silhouette slowly taking shape in the darkness.

The golden light churned, settled, and underwent Fusion within his body, enveloping his entire being in a dazzling glow.

Shuo Leng's body shook violently after losing two star points.

Those seven purple star points that were originally arranged like the Big Dipper now had only five left. Their light was dimmer than before, and her Aura dropped sharply, going from vast as the sea to weak as a thread. The remaining layer of Aura also drooped down limply, like a robe with its frame removed.

The stripping of those two star points seemed to have drained her last Foundation.

At this rate, let alone lasting a thousand years, I fear even a hundred years is a luxury.

She let out a long sigh.

"With these two Ancient God Star points, it is enough to save you the effort of absorbing endless energy and smoothly step into the realm of a Six-Star Ancient God. However… regarding the Three Losses and Seven Tribulations and the rules, you will still need to comprehend and overcome them yourself. Giving you two is already my limit; even if I gave you the rest, it would be impossible for you to reach Seven-Star directly."

Chu Yuan's main body closed his eyes and said nothing, his whole body already wrapped in layers by a golden cocoon of light.

Inside the cocoon of light, Chu Yuan's main body's figure was blurry, and one could only see those five purple star points slowly spinning at the center of his forehead.

Chu Yuan's Clone glanced at the cocoon of light, then withdrew his gaze.

The main body would likely need quite some time to absorb the power of the Ancient God Star points.

Those were the star points of a Seven-Star Ancient God; the energy contained within was vast as the sea, and even with the refining speed of an Ancient God's body, it was by no means a task that could be accomplished in a day or two.

He looked at Shuo Leng again; her Aura was dropping too fast.

With his current strength, he truly could not save her.

At least not now. However, he could still manage to slightly alleviate her pain.

Chu Yuan raised his hand, and a streak of green light flew out from his Storage Pouch as the map of mountains and rivers slowly unfolded in the Void Realm.

Boundless power of creation poured out from the map, silently and soundlessly flowing into Shuo Leng's body.
