Chapter 233: Senior Brother Zong
"Zhengqi Sect! Hmph…" Qin Ming felt disdainful in his heart.
Generally, Sects with names that highlight justice are often just wolves in sheep's clothing doing evil deeds; Qin Ming had seen many such cases in his previous life.
Of course, there were a few righteous individuals, but the proportion was far too small. Most were people who would do anything for profit, acting even more egregiously than the Demon Race.
Having just heard the conversation between those two Disciples, it was clear that this Zhengqi Sect was no good either.
Qin Ming didn't care what the Zhengqi Sect was; he was just wondering why the Zhengqi Sect wanted to deal with the Qixin Sect.
Sects like this usually wouldn't act without profit. This time, the Zhengqi Sect was investigating the Qixin Sect; could it be that the Qixin Sect possessed some treasure?
Qin Ming became even more interested in this Qixin Sect.
In the evening, Qin Ming walked to a shop. After exchanging a secret code, he entered the shop's basement.
"This Disciple greets the Sect Master," a Huayu Sect Disciple said with a bow.
He was precisely the Disciple sent by Jue Wuya to investigate the Qixin Sect. This time, Qin Ming sought him out to have him lead the way.
"Is there any new information?" Qin Ming asked.
"There's no news from the Qixin Sect, but the number of Martial Artists in Qixin City has suddenly increased recently. They seem to be Disciples of the Zhengqi Sect."
The Disciple reported.
Qin Ming nodded and said, "Lead me to the Qixin Sect to take a look."
Late at night, Qin Ming and the Disciple arrived near the Qixin Sect. Looking at the brightly lit Qixin Sect in the distance, Qin Ming understood why the Disciples couldn't gather any information.
The Qixin Sect was incredibly cautious, with both sentries and hidden scouts. His Disciple hadn't been discovered only because of the profundity of the Heaven Grade Cultivation Technique; trying to investigate deeper was simply impossible.
"You go back!" Qin Ming said to the Disciple.
"Yes! Sect Master, please be careful!" The Disciple quietly departed.
After looking at the Qixin Sect, Qin Ming stealthily crept forward.
To Qin Ming, the sentries and hidden scouts of the Qixin Sect were as good as non-existent; he easily slipped inside.
Unless there were guards at the Martial Spirit level, it was absolutely impossible to stop Qin Ming's progress.
Qin Ming carefully scouted around the Qixin Sect but found no Formations.
"Impossible! There can't be so few Disciples in the Qixin Sect. Most importantly, there's only one Martial Spirit Elder here. Where are the other Elders? They couldn't all have gone out."
Qin Ming estimated that the guards within the Qixin Sect should include at least three Martial Spirit Elders. Such a large Sect needed defense; with too few Martial Spirit Experts, their home base could easily be raided by rival Sects.
Qin Ming felt anxious, but after several rounds, he still hadn't found any traces of a Formation, nor did it look like there was one.
Just as Qin Ming was feeling anxious, a clamor came from ahead.
"Senior Brother Zong, you're back!"
"Greetings, Senior Brother Zong!"
The nearby Qixin Sect Disciples bowed to a man; it seemed he was an important figure in the Qixin Sect.
The man was dressed in a white robe and looked quite elegant. He casually said to the surrounding Disciples:
"Keep a good watch. Qixin City hasn't been peaceful lately; the Zhengqi Sect wants to slay us Demonic Sect Disciples. Be careful, and don't let the Zhengqi Sect Disciples sneak right under your noses without you noticing."
"Senior Brother Zong is right, we will definitely guard with all our hearts!" a Disciple flattered. "With Senior Brother Zong here, that Zhengqi Sect is nothing more than a dried radish—we can slice them however we want!"
"Haha…" Senior Brother Zong laughed. "Indeed, the Disciples of the Zhengqi Sect are nothing special; they are far inferior to our Qixin Sect."
