Chapter 25: Level 7 Monster
No one could guarantee that they would be able to retreat to a safe place before humanity used weapons to kill the Kaiju.
Therefore, even with the walls now built, ensuring that one or two Jaegers could be deployed was still very necessary.
It just cost a bit too much money. Seriously, are Jaegers really that expensive?
What they didn't know was that inside the Shatterdome, there weren't just one or two Jaegers being maintained, but a full four!
Cherno Alpha, Gipsy Danger, Crimson Typhoon, Eureka Striker.
These were humanity's only remaining four Jaegers, and their only hope!
At this moment, the Jaeger pilots in the base already knew the General's plan.
They also agreed to the plan to destroy the wormhole.
But the problem was, they simply couldn't find an opportunity!
With Godzilla constantly lurking around the wormhole, they didn't dare to act rashly.
Even if they had four Jaegers, or even forty, they wouldn't necessarily win against Godzilla.
Or rather, unless they continuously used nuclear weapons, they truly couldn't think of a way to deal with Godzilla.
And in fact, they didn't even believe that nuclear bombs could truly kill Godzilla.
More likely, it was about using nuclear bombs to detonate the reactor inside Godzilla's body, making him blow himself up!
But the problem was, they simply didn't have that many nuclear weapons!
And just today, a deafening alarm blared again within the base.
The wormhole, which had been calm for a month, had opened again!
"What's the situation at the wormhole? How many Kaiju have emerged?"
The General quickly arrived at the control room.
The technical staff stared wide-eyed at the information displayed on the screen, completely disbelieving what their Eyes were seeing.
"Answer me, soldier," the General said with a light reprimand, seeing the man's wide Eyes.
"Yes, General sir," the man snapped back to attention, his voice trembling. "A Kaiju has emerged from the wormhole. Its size cannot be predicted yet, but based on this reaction, this Kaiju is a… Category 7 Kaiju!"
Gulp ~
As soon as these words were spoken, silence immediately fell over the surroundings.
Just a month ago, the Kaiju that emerged from the wormhole were Category 4. A month later, how did it suddenly become Category 7?
Such a huge leap?
"General—"
Everyone around looked at their backbone.
"Don't panic," the General's calm demeanor unconsciously made them breathe a sigh of relief. "That Creature isn't here for us."
The General looked at Godzilla, who was circling thirty kilometers from the wormhole, and said.
They weren't the only ones who noticed the anomaly at the wormhole; Godzilla had discovered the wormhole had opened even earlier than them.
Just as Godzilla turned and swam towards the wormhole, the Category 7 Kaiju inside the wormhole slowly squeezed its way out.
That's right, the Kaiju gave the impression of being squeezed out of the wormhole.
Only after the Kaiju had fully emerged from the wormhole could the people in the Shatterdome get a complete picture of the Creature from the feedback of the equipment around the wormhole.
It was a Creature over five hundred meters long, shaped like a giant snake.
However, compared to an ordinary large snake, it had four sturdy limbs.
Compared to a large snake, this Creature looked more like a lizard!
And the muscles at the front of this lizard were significantly more developed than those at the back.
On the head of this lizard was a long, blue ramming horn, with arcs of electricity occasionally flickering, suggesting it wasn't just for simple impact.
As this Kaiju emerged from the wormhole, the alarm had not yet stopped. Then, three more Kaiju crawled out of the wormhole.
And these three Kaiju were all Category 6 Kaiju!
Frankly speaking, these four Kaiju alone would be enough to cripple Earth!
Even if these four Kaiju could be killed, most of Earth's land would become unsuitable for human habitation, or possibly even all of it!
The only thing that made the people in the base feel fortunate was perhaps that these four Kaiju weren't coming for them.
They could see that as soon as the four Creatures emerged from the wormhole, they charged towards Godzilla.
And Godzilla quickly saw the four Kaiju that had emerged from the wormhole.
Although Godzilla didn't know the specific category of those four Kaiju, he knew they were definitely not Category 4 or Category 5!
Because the four Kaiju were simply too massive!
Even the smallest of them was over three hundred meters long!
And judging by their thick armor, their defenses were clearly strong, though he didn't know if they had other special abilities.
When the four Kaiju saw Godzilla, they didn't immediately charge but began to slow down.
Except for the largest one at the front, the other three Kaiju swam to the left and right, seemingly trying to surround Godzilla.
Godzilla didn't pay attention to the three smaller Kaiju, but looked at the ramming horn on the head of the Kaiju in front.
Looking at that ramming horn, where lightning subtly flickered, he had a feeling that the Kaiju opposite him would unleash an electric attack at the slightest provocation.
If it was just an electric discharge, that was nothing; he could do that too.
He could even do more than just discharge electricity; he could also breathe fire or emit freezing gas.
Not to mention the Alien creatures genes he had recently acquired, even Earth Creature genes could achieve this; it was just that Godzilla deemed those attacks too weak, so he hadn't bothered to develop them.
If the Kaiju opposite him truly could discharge electricity, then Godzilla would indeed be somewhat interested.
Watching Godzilla, who hadn't slowed down, the lizard-shaped Kaiju opposite him stopped directly, raising its head above the water, looking coldly at Godzilla swimming beneath the surface.
As Godzilla swam to within a thousand meters of it, the Kaiju's ramming horn lit up with blue lightning, and then—a dazzling bolt of lightning shot out, directly hitting Godzilla underwater.
Seeing this, everyone in the Shatterdome watching via satellite couldn't help but hold their breath.
They hadn't expected Kaiju to have such an ability. If this electric current targeted their Jaegers, could the Jaegers withstand it?
They didn't know.
But now was not the time to think about that. More than that, they were curious about how Godzilla was doing.
And Godzilla—he was completely fine!
When the electric current hit him, he did feel a tingling sensation, but that was all.
Such an attack had no effect on him whatsoever.
And so, he was even more disappointed.
Of course, that's not to say this Kaiju's attack was weak.
In fact, this lightning attack was very powerful, but the problem was that he was too strong!
