Chapter 266
"Sarah, to be honest, I don’t really like being like this." Natasha lay on the ground with her hands bound above her head, frowning as she spoke.
Though she was highly capable, she was human in the end. And Sarah had returned to her demon form this time, wielding a weapon she was thoroughly familiar with. The fight had not lasted long; Natasha was quickly subdued.
"What’s so bad about it?" Sarah lay seductively on her side beside Natasha, teasing her with a blade of grass. "This will all be over soon anyway. Isn’t it nice to slack off here?"
"If things really are as you say, then this could be considered a good thing." Natasha dodged twice. For some reason, the grass brushing across her face made her itch all the way to her heart. "Why did it have to turn out like this?"
"Who knows…" Sarah said lazily. "The boss has his own ideas. Besides, if you’d come a little later, none of this would have happened."
"Fine…" Natasha felt she would get nothing more out of her. With difficulty, she raised her head and looked at her own body. "But can’t we talk another way?"
Sarah’s whip was quite long. It bound Natasha’s hands, looped around her legs, and pulled her into a full split. It had to be said, that pose was truly… pleasing to the eye.
"No." Sarah refused decisively. "I think this is a pretty good way." She blew a soft breath of hot air into Natasha’s ear. "Besides, don’t you like exciting games?"
"Mm…" Natasha let out a groan filled with humiliation and pain. Sarah’s little tail was slowly creeping up along her thigh…
"Captain, we’re here to support you." The task force finally arrived at Captain America’s position. "Please get away from him. We’re about to open fire."
Captain America and Tyler were currently fighting at close quarters, constantly shifting positions. The task force members could only stand by and watch.
"Forget me… go…" Captain America barely held off Tyler’s attacks with his shield and shouted at the task force members, "I’ll hold him back. Get in there and rescue them!"
Captain America had been through quite a few battles, but he had to admit he had never faced an enemy this powerful. At the very least, Red Skull had not been this good at fighting.
"Legion Strike!" Tyler roared, gripping his hammer with both hands and smashing it down. Captain America was protected by his shield and remained unhurt, but the task force members nearby had their eardrums painfully rattled by the thunderous clash of hammer and shield. They covered their ears and staggered back.
Right. This was not a fight people like them could join. They should keep moving. The task force had no choice but to leave Captain America behind and cautiously approach the hole Tyler had smashed through. At the same time, they prayed that the so-called anti-Sorcerer bracelets would work.
Otherwise, they had already lost two major fighters just to the minor enemies. If they went straight to challenge the final boss, wouldn’t they be dead in an instant?
"The boss… doesn’t like being disturbed." Just as the task force members were about to enter the hole, they heard a shrill voice. Startled, they immediately raised their guns and looked around, but after waiting for a long while, they saw nothing.
Fuck, could it be Translucent? The task force members were horrified. Invisible enemies were the most terrifying.
Thud. Just as they swallowed frantically, their hearts pounding at 180, they saw a figure laboriously pull itself over the edge of the hole. It was not Translucent. The one who had spoken was simply too short for them to see.
"What is that?" Seeing that this newcomer barely reached their knees, the task force members all breathed a sigh of relief. One of them, unable to keep his mouth shut, said, "A lowly dwarf?"
"Lowly?" The sharp-faced dwarf was Tripsy the imp. Red light flashed in his eyes upon hearing that. "No one has ever dared call the great Tripsy a lowly dwarf! Bah, I’m not even a dwarf!"
"Come on, Hubbs!" Tripsy shrieked. "Let’s take care of this rabble!"
A Husky sprang out from some unknown corner. When Tripsy saw him, he grinned. "I thought you’d chickened out."
Hubbs indignantly replied, "Whoever chickens out is a fucking dog," while revealing his true form. A Hellhound the size of a calf appeared before them, then bellowed, "Combine! I’ll form the lower half!"
"Hahaha!" Tripsy revealed his true form as well, turning into a Fel imp burning with green flames. He leaped onto Hubbs’s back. "I’ll form the upper half!"
"Cooperative Combat Form, Ghost Riding Dog!" The two demons shouted together. Fortunately, Evenson did not see this, or he would have banished the two of them into the void.
"Taste my Flame Arrow!" Hubbs bolted forward, while Tripsy rode on his back and continuously hurled small fireballs. They were not especially powerful, only about as strong as ordinary grenades.
We’re dead, we’re dead, we’re dead… Sure enough, none of these people can be underestimated!
The task force members were chased into a frantic scramble. Fortunately, they were all elites, and even in this situation, they did not panic completely. They immediately scattered, preventing Tripsy’s fireballs from suppressing all of them at once.
"Dumen! Get out here!" Hubbs shouted. He had no choice. Once the task force members could no longer be completely suppressed, they would naturally begin to fight back.
Tripsy was not afraid. With a Phase Shift, he turned semi-transparent. Bullets could not hurt him at all, and he could still toss fireballs when they least expected it.
But Hubbs did not have that skill. He could only rely on his scales to endure the automatic rifle fire head-on. He would not be injured, but the constant rattling of bullets against him definitely did not feel good.
"I… come from the void!" A broad figure slowly floated out from the hole. The Voidwalker made of shadow elements was Dumen. As soon as he appeared, his body abruptly expanded. The fat man who had originally been five feet tall became a huge, seven-and-a-half-foot-tall fat man.
From the moment he appeared, every task force member present developed an illusion. It was as if the fellow before them not only owed each of them eight million and had no intention of paying it back, but had also stolen their girlfriends.
This was unbearable! They all swung their guns toward the fat man before them, no longer caring about the Ghost Riding Dog, and fired wildly. Unfortunately, no matter how many bullets struck him, the fat man remained completely unfazed.
"Let’s become complete!" Tripsy pointed at Dumen and shouted. Grabbing Hubbs’s two tentacles and urging the dog onward, the two of them shot into Dumen’s body, wrapped within the Voidwalker’s incredibly powerful defenses.
"Super Cooperative Combat Form—Susanoo!"
In short, Hubbs handled mobility and repositioning, Tripsy handled the attacks, and Dumen served as the meat shield. Attack and defense, perfectly integrated.
Meanwhile, inside the factory, Evenson watched Carter’s body twitch from time to time. He knew that Carter was battling the soul of the Doomguard he had placed inside her body. Only by defeating that soul could she truly command the demonic power contained within that heart. This was a path every Demon Hunter had to take.
He was not worried in the slightest that she might fail. This ritual was being overseen by a Sorcerer. When it came to hunting and slaughtering demons, the Illidari were undoubtedly experts. But when it came to weakening and suppressing demons, one had to rely on a Sorcerer’s methods.
But at that moment, Evenson raised his head and said without turning around, "You’re here? Melinda, worthy of the Iron Cavalry."
The free period is over. Extra update tomorrow!
