Chapter 278
After putting on a performance of Hero saves Loki, Thor rather roughly tossed his wildly charismatic little brother onto a mountaintop and glared at him menacingly.
Loki’s heart trembled and his liver shook. Could it be that his dear brother could no longer hold himself back? So, playing hard to get, he began discussing life ideals with Thor.
Yet Thor, who should have pressed on while the iron was hot, actually began reminiscing about their glorious old days with his brother. Even their father could not stand such spineless behavior. The two ravens Odin had sent to check on the situation cawed a few "baka"s before flying away.
"I witnessed the true power of the Cosmic Cube." Loki had gotten so carried away with acting cute that he finally let slip something he should not have said.
"Who showed it to you?" Thor, who usually did not have much brainpower to spare, became exceptionally sharp at that moment. He immediately realized something serious: My little brother has someone else outside!
"Give up these absurd dreams. Hand over the Cosmic Cube and come home with me." Thor spoke with genuine feeling, wholeheartedly hoping his brother would understand that person only wanted his Cosmic Cube. He should hurry up and come to his senses.
Loki’s face immediately went cold. Damn it, you actually doubt me? He said, "I don’t know?"
Thor panicked at once. His brother was actually dead set on following that person. No! Even if he had to knock Loki unconscious, he would drag him back. He pulled out Thor’s Hammer, pointed it at Loki, and said, "Listen to me, brother!"
Boom! At that moment, the perfect third wheel appeared. Tony Stark finally made his grand entrance and sent Thor flying with a single hit. He really should have been satisfied—Asgard only had two princes, and he had crashed into both of them in a single day.
But this truly caused trouble. How dare he interrupt my date? He was asking for a beating! Thor struck out furiously, swinging his hammer at him.
Tony had already been holding in a bellyful of anger today. After taking a hit like that, how could he possibly endure it? Naturally, he charged in and started fighting Thor.
In the blink of an eye, Thor seized an opening. After throwing Iron Man aside, he finally displayed the true strength of Asgard’s number one Enhancement Elemental Shaman. Vast thunderclouds gathered, lightning converging into Thor’s Hammer. Guided by him, that earth-shaking strike landed squarely on Iron Man, who had just climbed back to his feet.
My name is Thor, King of Thunder. The majesty of kingship commands all directions to bow! Alas, Tony… Energy reached 400%…
This was truly an unexpected delight. Tony had never imagined that such an awe-inspiring attack would not only leave him completely unscathed, but would also fill the energy for his ultimate skill to the maximum.
Without hesitation, Tony pressed Q. His chest cannon and hand cannons fired together, blasting Thor back in one go.
Thor saw that elements really were unreliable. Better stick to Enhancement. So they began brawling, fighting from the sky to the ground with great enthusiasm.
One moment, Iron Man was grinding Thor against a cliff face; the next, Thor sent Iron Man flying with a headbutt.
Still, Iron Man was at a disadvantage. Thor could crush the Iron Man suit just with his grip strength, not to mention that if Tony took a full-force hammer blow from Thor, he would really have to beg Evenson for help.
Bzz… After they pulled apart once again, Thor suddenly heard an unusual whistling sound. Turning his head, he saw a vicious silver battle axe flying toward him.
Almost instinctively, he knocked the axe aside with Thor’s Hammer. When he looked again, a figure had already caught the battle axe steadily, and that person had somehow charged right in front of him.
A woman. Thor had only just identified the attacker’s gender when, after catching the axe, she shouted sharply and charged straight at him without losing momentum.
Thor immediately held Thor’s Hammer across his chest to block, then felt an enormous impact that drove him back more than ten meters.
When Tony saw who had arrived, his heart turned ice-cold. Too late. He would probably never escape the shadow of his little aunt for the rest of his life. Maybe he should put the Anti-Sorcerer Project aside for now and develop an Anti-Aunt armor first.
That was right—the newcomer was Peggy Carter. A winged Demon Hunter was naturally faster than Captain America, so she had arrived early. Then she saw someone beating up her grandnephew.
Carter immediately made her decision. With a Blade Toss, she threw the battle axe Revenge. Then, wielding Havoc, she charged at Thor from another direction. After meticulous calculations beforehand, the deflected Revenge happened to fly in her direction. Catching it, she unleashed the Demon Hunter’s signature skill, Fel Rush!
Fel Blades. Carter fully demonstrated the Demon Hunter’s hyperactive tendencies—no, her high mobility—arriving almost instantly above Thor, though with her back facing him.
Revenge, hidden behind Peggy Carter’s body, had already ignited with Fel flames. She spun around and slashed down with the motion!
Thor struggled to block that strike. That was not only because Peggy Carter’s slash was extremely heavy, but more importantly because he felt his lightning power being dissolved by those green flames.
"Hmph!" Thor exerted himself and knocked Carter away, but Carter actually vanished in midair after being sent flying.
High-speed movement, left side! Relying on his battle instincts honed over many years, Thor immediately realized that his enemy had not turned invisible. She had merely moved at extreme speed to his left and attacked.
Right side! After Thor blocked that attack, Carter appeared on the completely opposite side and continued her assault.
Front! Back! Carter attacked with astonishing speed and tricky angles. Even Thor, who had fought for years, felt a trace of panic. After blocking an attack from behind, he discovered that Carter was nowhere to be seen.
Above! Thor looked up, and sure enough, Carter had appeared over him.
But this time, Carter did not slash. Instead, she aimed the Havoc in her left hand at Thor. "Bang!"
Like the roar of Hell, a massive Fel fireball shot from Havoc’s muzzle. Using the immense recoil from the shot, Carter elegantly backflipped and landed nearby.
Blade Dance, complete.
"Impressive." Carter, half-kneeling on the ground, raised her head and saw Thor, who had been blasted away by the Fel fireball, walking out slowly. With her Spectral Sight, she could tell that he was almost completely unharmed. "I usually do not fight women, but I can make an exception for you. Other than Sif, you are the best fighter among the women I have seen."
In an instant, thunder roared and the earth withered. Immense power and presence radiated from Thor, proving to the world that there was a reason he could be called a god.
That power placed enormous pressure on Peggy Carter. She knew he was serious now.
The reason she had been able to overpower him briefly earlier was merely because she had caught him off guard with her speed and strange, tricky attacks. But now… she seemed to be no match for him.
"The Sif you mentioned…" As a former Senior Agent, Carter was skilled at using every condition favorable to herself. There seemed to be something in Thor’s words that could be used. "Was she carrying a large sword and wearing a full suit of armor? Um, a beautiful woman with long, straight black hair?"
"You’ve seen Sif?" Sure enough, those words caused Thor’s aura to slacken slightly. "I’ve been separated from her for a long time. Do you know where she is?"
"…" Carter was speechless. What are those two eyes of yours even for? "She was on the plane just now. Didn’t you see her?"
"R-Really?" Thor was somewhat embarrassed. At the time, he had been too busy saving his brother.
Clang! At that moment, Thor suddenly raised a hand and knocked away a red flying disc. Without even turning his head, he pointed his hammer in that direction and said, "Wait a moment."
Then he continued asking Carter, "I remember last time, I entrusted her to some guy who knew Magic."
"Evenson Richter?" Carter cautiously offered a name, since he was the only person she knew who could use Magic.
"Yes, that kill-stealing bastard." Thor clearly still remembered a certain incident. Then he asked, "Where is he?"
"…" Carter thought, What are those two eyeballs even for? "He was on the plane just now too. Don’t tell me you didn’t see him either?"
"So that means… you’re that S.H… S.H…"
"S.H.I.E.L.D." Since Thor had struggled for so long without managing to get the name out, Carter could only say it for him.
"That’s the name." Thor revealed an expression of sudden realization. "It seems we had a misunderstanding. We are allies."
He still remembered how, when he left last time, he had confidently told Coulson that they were allies.
"Then shall we go back and talk?" Carter asked tentatively.
"Alright." Having learned their identities, especially after learning that they knew Sif and, well, that person, Thor believed Carter.
"Oh, right." After lowering his guard, Thor turned to the side and asked, "What did you want with me?" He remembered that someone had thrown a flying disc at him just now.
"…Nothing." Captain America said after holding it in for a long time.
