Chapter 28: Darkness before my eyes
How powerful can an Electromagnetic Cannon be?
Theoretically, as long as there is enough electricity, enough coils, and the metal projectile is hard enough and has a high enough melting point, then there is no upper limit to the power of an Electromagnetic Cannon.
Therefore, Godzilla was truly tempted by the Kaiju's ability to fire Electromagnetic Cannons.
He had even already figured out how to fire an Electromagnetic Cannon.
Godzilla had always felt his dorsal fins were a bit unsightly and wanted to change them, but after several ideas, none were very satisfying. Now, it seemed, a solution was finally at hand.
After devouring the Kaiju that could fire Electromagnetic Cannons, Godzilla looked at the sea surface and swam towards the nearest Kaiju corpse.
As Godzilla bit into the Kaiju corpse, which was still leaking internal organ fragments from its mouth, he began to transform.
Although he didn't know what the Precursors' planet was like, a Land form would surely be more advantageous than a water form.
Swimming slowly, Godzilla extended his newly grown claws and took the Kaiju corpse from his mouth.
Godzilla swam to the location of the wormhole, looked at the wormhole directly below, and without hesitation, plunged down.
"—"
"—"
Silence.
Long silence.
"Dr. Newton, you've been studying Godzilla for a month. Can you explain what that was?"
The general's expression finally broke.
When a Kaiju grew wings and flew, he merely raised an eyebrow, his face showing little change.
And when the Kaiju fired an Electromagnetic Cannon and Godzilla retaliated with that blue attack, he also held back.
After all, Newton had already said that since Godzilla had a fusion reaction within him, mastering some special abilities was—acceptable.
But that monster, transforming from a slender aquatic Creature into one with limbs and a rounded body right before their "Eyes", was that really something a Creature could do!?
"Uh—this—it's possible he's lived too long, so it's normal for him to have some special abilities. Who knows, maybe he can even fly."
Newton himself was bewildered and could only awkwardly offer an explanation he didn't even believe.
The general didn't press him, after all, Godzilla had only appeared recently, and while humanity wasn't completely ignorant of him, they weren't far from it.
"Wait!? What's he doing?"
At that moment, a cry of surprise rang out.
Then they saw Godzilla grabbing a Kaiju corpse and diving towards the wormhole.
Could it be that he was going to enter the wormhole?
Instinctively, that was the first thing everyone thought of.
And they were right!
Perhaps because Godzilla was holding a Kaiju corpse, the wormhole identified him as a friendly target. Thus, Godzilla easily entered the wormhole and arrived on the other side.
And Godzilla's first sensation after passing through the wormhole was tightness.
The oppressive feeling from all directions was like being completely wrapped in a blanket, a sense of being constrained.
And this feeling of constraint came from the fleshy walls surrounding Godzilla!
Godzilla turned his head to look around and found that he was surrounded by pulsating fleshy walls. Godzilla could even see the blood vessels on the fleshy walls.
Clearly, he was inside some enormous Creature, one that could even be said to be larger than a City.
Besides the fleshy walls, Godzilla also saw something resembling a conveyor belt nearby.
And the end of that conveyor belt was connected to the wormhole behind Godzilla.
It seemed this was where the Precursors created Kaiju and transmitted them to other planets through the wormhole.
However, Godzilla had thought the other side of the wormhole would be some device that generated wormholes, never expecting such a scene.
Wait!
Just as Godzilla, squeezed through layers of fleshy walls, continued forward, wanting to thoroughly explore this place where the Precursors created Kaiju…
He suddenly realized that the wormhole seemed to be generated by the enormous "Creature" he was currently inside.
It was alive!
Godzilla didn't hesitate; he immediately turned around and bit into the petal-shaped opening where he had just emerged!
How astonishing was Godzilla's bite force?
One bite directly tore off a large chunk of Flesh.
The weight was hard to estimate, as it was common knowledge that Kaiju were light.
But it was quite large, directly covering Godzilla's face.
With Godzilla using both his hands and mouth, a large piece of Flesh was swallowed by Godzilla in a few gulps.
Hmm—the taste was sour and spicy, a bit intoxicating.
So, Godzilla tore off another large piece of Flesh.
Godzilla was getting carried away eating, but this "Flesh Factory" let out a painful "howl"!
The entire "Flesh Factory" first expanded, as if filled with water, and then contracted, shrinking to one-third of its original size.
Thus, this "Flesh Factory" alternated between expanding and contracting.
If the Precursors weren't fools, they would know that this "Flesh Factory" must have a problem!
And just as the Precursors, through the omnipresent "Eyes" within the "Flesh Factory," discovered Godzilla, he had already gnawed away all the Flesh around the wormhole.
The Precursors, seeing this scene through the "Eyes" that opened on the fleshy walls, felt their vision go black.
They had never imagined that this alien monster would crawl through the wormhole.
Not only that, but the monster had also gnawed away all the Flesh that created the wormhole!
Although that area of Flesh could be repaired, the energy required to repair the special structure that creates a wormhole was several times higher than that needed to create a Category 7 monster, and the time involved was measured in years.
And what they found most unacceptable was that their planet now had no power to stop Godzilla from acting as he pleased!
"Call for help! Quickly call for help!"
The Precursors' reaction was also swift; they immediately called for help from other planets and then fled to their bunkers to hide.
The Precursors' bunkers were built thousands of meters deep underground, theoretically very safe.
And with the Precursors' robust bodies, even if trapped underground, they wouldn't have to worry about their lives for a considerably long time. Moreover, there were hibernation devices in the bunkers, so as long as the enemy didn't reach the bunkers, they were quite safe.
Thus, the Precursors, one by one, hid in their bunkers, glaring hatefully at Godzilla on the screens.
