Chapter 36 Spiritual World
Chapter 36: Mental World
Spirit Realm.
“So this is the method you mentioned, leaving the Physical Body in place and using the Mental Energy to beat people up?” Lin Fan asked curiously, examining this world constructed of Mental Energy.
Mountains, rivers, grass, trees, blue skies, white clouds, and flowing rivers—everything was identical to the outside world, as if truly existing.
Even the sensations on his body were no different from reality. Stepping on the sand and stones on the ground produced a “crunch, crunch” sound, and with a bit of force, the surroundings vibrated, and the mountains swayed.
“That’s right. The Spirit Realm is a world constructed from the Divine Power and thoughts of the gods. Everything here has a corresponding physical object in the outside world,” Yue Chan explained to him as they walked.
“What a magical place. I’ve heard of it, but never truly entered,” Lin Fan sighed, filled with astonishment.
“Don’t underestimate this Mental World. It’s as vast as the Three Thousand Provinces, and when we temper ourselves here and return to reality, all insights will be carried back to our Physical Body, as if our true self cultivated here,” Yue Chan reminded him.
Lin Fan pondered. He did know about this point; the Spirit Realm was a Mental World modeled after the Lower Realm Eight Regions, possessing all sorts of incredible aspects.
This was a different kind of reflection, like a world within a mirror, but it was a collection of powerful Mental Energy, because the Mental Energy of any living being was the most mysterious, no weaker than their Physical Body.
“Don’t be careless. Dying here will cause you to be weak for several months in reality. Sometimes, if you are killed by treasures like Soul Extinguishing Needles or Soul Suppressing Pagodas, your true self will also die.”
As they spoke, the two had quickly arrived at a city—Ganfeng City.
“Aren’t we going to beat up the Jietian Sect’s successor? What are we doing here?” Lin Fan asked, subtly changing his appearance to conceal himself.
Yue Chan frowned, a hint of displeasure in her voice: “This city is the Sikong family’s stronghold in the Cave Heaven Realm, and this generation of the Sikong family produced a talented person named Sikong Ming. A few days ago, he actually said I was inferior to the Demonic Woman and not as beautiful as her, so…”
“So, just because he didn’t flatter you and instead flattered the Jietian Sect’s Demonic Woman, you’re going to beat him up, right?” Lin Fan smiled, finishing her sentence.
“Hmph!” Yue Chan snorted, tacitly admitting it.
She could lose to anyone, but she absolutely could not lose to her arch-rival, the Demonic Woman.
She was clearly sweet-voiced, beautiful, and ethereal like an immortal, so how was she inferior to that vixen? He simply didn't know how to appreciate beauty.
Of course, her dear Junior Brother beside her was even worse; every time they fought, he specifically aimed for her face, completely oblivious to what cherishing and protecting women meant.
If Lin Fan knew her thoughts, he would truly cry foul!
He was simply not interested in lolis and young girls. If it were a mature older sister type like Qing Yao, he would definitely fall under her spell.
Entering the city, the streets were bustling and prosperous, with people coming and going. All of them were Cultivators gathered here, some even trading items and discussing the Dao.
Although it was a Mental World and goods could not be traded out, deals could be finalized here and then traded in reality, greatly saving time and increasing safety.
“Boom!”
A loud bang echoed through Ganfeng City. The Sikong family’s gate, dozens of meters high, directly exploded, shattering into pieces. Even the plaque inscribed by a god split into several fragments.
“Who is it? How dare you attack my Sikong family? Are you tired of living?” A thunderous roar came from within the mansion, shaking away the clouds in the sky, filled with extreme anger.
“Bring Sikong Ming out, or this young master will flatten this place today!” Lin Fan shouted, striding like a tiger and a Dragon, his eyes cold and fearless.
With one step, he covered dozens of meters, directly entering this blessed land and courtyard.
Facing the guards who rushed to stop him, Lin Fan merely glanced at them, his steps still unbroken. As he passed the two, he grabbed one person’s head with each hand and smashed them towards the tall mansion.
With a “bang,” they crashed into a magnificent golden palace, the terrifying force shockingly powerful!
Especially the two guards, who were utterly bewildered. They only saw a blur, and then they were thrown out like sandbags, completely powerless to resist.
Even Yue Chan, who followed a step behind, was utterly shocked, her mouth agape in an “O” shape, unable to believe it.
“Junior Brother is truly fierce! Without a word, he directly attacked their home!”
Immediately after, more and more people rushed out of the Sikong family mansion, numbering over twenty, each wielding broadswords, precious swords, iron hammers, etc., emitting precious light, making the area glow brightly.
Moreover, each person’s strength was extraordinary, a top-tier expert in the Cave Heaven Realm, having opened at least three Cave Heavens, with some even having six or seven.
These people surrounded Lin Fan. They had nothing to say to their enemy and charged forward.
“Kill!”
“Dare to offend my Sikong family, die!” a leading middle-aged man coldly ordered, waving his hand.
Instantly, dozens of people attacked Lin Fan, broadswords slashing horizontally, long swords flying, and runes shining, erupting with dazzling brilliance.
But the next moment, something terrifying happened: Lin Fan transformed into a streak of rainbow light, and in just the blink of an eye, four people’s heads were blown apart.
However, the crowd couldn’t even see his shadow; he was simply too fast and too strong!
“Ah…”
A scream rang out, and another person died, their Mental Energy killed, transforming into a rain of light and disappearing from the area, meaning that person would be unable to enter the Spirit Realm for several months.
However, this was not absolute. If one consumed some precious medicine and recuperated their Mental Energy, the process could be accelerated.
But at the same time, the consumption was enormous, especially for precious medicines that restore Mental Energy, which were rare and valuable, not something every living being could afford.
“Everyone, attack together! Form a formation!” the middle-aged man said with a gloomy face.
Their Sikong family was, after all, a prominent and respectable clan in this region. Although not comparable to a great sect, they were still a minor overlord.
But today, they were attacked at their doorstep, which was like having the Sikong family’s face rubbed on the ground. How could they continue to operate in this region, and they would be laughed at in reality.
At this moment, they could only wash away this humiliation with blood.
“Chii!”
At this moment, countless runes lit up in the Void Realm. At that time, divine light soared into the sky, mist swirled, as if stars were falling and the red sun was burning, and a terrifying aura permeated the air.
However, how could Lin Fan be a fool, to directly confront the entire grand formation with his own strength?
Therefore, he did not advance further, standing in place. A fiery red feather fan appeared in his hand, and he fiercely waved it towards the crowd.
“Boom!”
Instantly, heavenly fire streaked across the sky, strong winds raged, lightning flashed and thunder roared, engulfing the entire courtyard in a vast expanse.
This magnificent scene was as if the heavens were sending down a divine punishment, destroying the human world, causing waves of heart palpitations.
“Not good! The treasure in that kid’s hand is not simple!”
The Sikong family members quickly retreated, feeling the aura of death. Their hearts were filled with great fear; that treasure possessed powerful heavenly might and could not be resisted head-on.
Just as everyone scattered and fled, the crimson fire and heavenly lightning had already descended, covering the area. With a loud rumble, the place exploded, forming a purgatory.
Some people who couldn’t escape in time were directly incinerated, unable to even let out a scream, a truly tragic sight!
At the same time, the earth cracked, and pieces of precious bones appeared, their runes dim and lifeless, like withered flowers, shattered into dust.
But this was only one corner of the formation. It was hard to imagine how many rune bones the Sikong family had buried here, and how many grand formations they had set up to protect it.
If it weren’t for the power of the precious fan, Lin Fan would probably have to endure a bitter battle to break through.
