Chapter 376: Passion
Qin Ming looked in the direction the youth was pointing; there was a partition blocking the view, and if one did not look closely, one really would not know that there was something hidden there.
Qin Ming opened the partition, revealing a staircase leading downward, and he and the youth walked down.
The expected stuffiness did not appear; unexpectedly, there was a faint breeze coming from the underground Warehouse, and it was very dry here, truly suitable for storing things.
"This secret chamber is dry and well-ventilated; it is excellent whether for storing things or as a secret residence," Qin Ming thought to himself.
"Not bad. How many years are left on this shop?" Qin Ming asked.
The youth replied, "There are still thirty-three years left. If you can rent it, I will give you a discount; it will only be ten thousand Mid-Grade Spirit Stones per year, for a total of three hundred and thirty thousand Mid-Grade Spirit Stones."
Qin Ming waved his hand, and three thousand three hundred High-Grade Spirit Stones appeared on the table in the Warehouse: "Here are three thousand three hundred High-Grade Spirit Stones."
"This is the property deed." The youth handed Qin Ming a jade token. Qin Ming took the jade token and played with it in his hand; on it was written, "Yan City, Pill Fire Street 970."
"The remaining years need to be verified; we can go together," the youth said.
Qin Ming nodded, "No need to go. I trust you; if I did not trust you, I would not be trading with you."
If the original tenant of this shop returned, they could find a reason to reclaim the shop, and Qin Ming would have no way to stop it.
After all, this jade token was bound to the original owner, not to Qin Ming.
"Thank you," the youth said. "I have asked so many people, and you are the first one to trust me. Rest assured, I am not deceiving you. If it were not for the fact that I do not know how to manage a shop, I would never have rented it out so cheaply."
Qin Ming smiled, "What do you plan to do in the future?"
Judging by the youth's words, he must have been managing the shop with his grandfather before. Qin Ming happened to need manpower, and seeing how sincere the youth was and how familiar he was with this place, if possible, Qin Ming wanted this youth to watch the shop for him.
After all, finding someone who is familiar with the Medicinal Pill market and has experience is quite troublesome.
"I plan to study Alchemy," the youth said with a determined look in his eyes. "I love Alchemy, and I will definitely become a great Alchemist."
"Oh?" Looking at the youth's determined eyes, Qin Ming smiled, "A great Alchemist is not easy to become; Alchemy is very arduous."
"It is not arduous!" the youth said. "I love Alchemy. I do not think Alchemy is arduous at all; on the contrary, it makes me very happy."
Qin Ming was startled. Not bad; this youth's attitude toward Alchemy was good. He was like him, a person who loved Alchemy. If Qin Ming did not love it, he would not have persisted in Alchemy for ten thousand years, eventually becoming the peerless Pill Emperor, and finally, the Pill God.
This was all because he loved Alchemy and did not find Alchemy boring at all, becoming involuntarily obsessed with the Dao of Alchemy.
"But I do not seem to have any Talent for Alchemy," the youth became dejected again. "The youths who studied at the same time as me have all become Pill Apprentices, but I cannot even perform the most basic coagulation of a Medicinal Pill. I really do not know why that Medicinal Pill just will not condense."
"Rest assured, it will get better. My Talent was not good either, and did I not become a Pill King?" Qin Ming encouraged him. Compared to those true Alchemy Geniuses, Qin Ming's aptitude was nothing.
There are many Alchemy Geniuses who become Alchemists in one year, Grand Alchemists in two years, Pill Ancestors in three years, Pill Kings in twenty years, and Pill Emperors in fifty years; compared to such Geniuses, Qin Ming was far inferior.
However, most of these Geniuses stopped at the Pill Emperor Realm, while he took it one step at a time, climbing toward the Peak of the Dao of Alchemy, and eventually became the Pill God.
Compared to passion, Talent is nothing.
"Pill King? You are a Pill King?" The youth looked at Qin Ming in shock.
"Do I not look like one?" Qin Ming smiled. He was currently disguised as an old man, and combined with the aura of someone who had long held a high position in his previous life, how could he not look like one?
"That is not it," the youth shook his head. "It is just that in my impression, Pill Kings are always surrounded by crowds of followers, and you…"
Qin Ming smiled, "When you truly become a Pill King, these things will be within easy reach. However, this old man has no interest in them whatsoever."
What kind of wealth and glory had Qin Ming not enjoyed in his previous life? He had long grown tired of that kind of life.
