Chapter 4: The Original Accident (Part 1)

Lin Fan spread his hands helplessly. "You cannot wear my clothes. It seems you will have to make do with wearing your own for now."

The three women exchanged glances. Although their clothes would undoubtedly look out of place here, they had no other choice.

Yin Miaoxue smoothed her snow-white dress, Princess Hu Qinlan adjusted the hem of her emerald-green skirt, and Princess Jin Xuan gently brushed her hand over her own magnificent golden robe.

"Although it looks a bit… special, this is the only way."

"It's fine. At worst, people will just stare a little more."

After tidying their clothes, Lin Fan led the three of them to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator door.

Inside the fridge were some vegetables he had bought earlier; although it wasn't a feast, it was enough for an emergency.

The three of them stared at the food in the fridge, momentarily stunned.

"Young Master, is this stuff edible?"

Princess Hu Qinlan blinked and asked, pointing to the cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, and other ingredients inside.

Princess Jin Xuan was equally puzzled. She picked up a carrot, sniffed it, and asked, "This doesn't look like a Spiritual Qi fruit; can it be eaten?"

Yin Miaoxue curiously picked up a tomato and gently touched its skin. "Is this red thing… a fruit?"

Lin Fan took the ingredients out of the fridge while reassuring the three of them:

"Rest assured, this is food from Earth. Although it doesn't possess the Spiritual Qi like the Spiritual Qi fruits you are familiar with, it is enough to fill your stomachs."

As he spoke, he washed the carrots and tomatoes, began skillfully chopping them, and placed them on the cutting board.

"These tomatoes and carrots are common vegetables on Earth. They are good for your health, so just try them and you'll see."

The three women looked at each other, hesitated for a moment, and finally decided to give it a try.

Princess Jin Xuan took a cautious bite of the carrot and looked surprised. "Although it lacks Spiritual Qi, the taste is surprisingly refreshing."

Princess Hu Qinlan tasted the tomato and looked up. "This fruit is a bit like the Spiritual Qi fruits we've seen before, but it tastes sweet and fresh. Not bad."

Yin Miaoxue also picked up a slice of carrot and chewed gently. "This is completely different from the food I had in the Canglan Immortal Domain, but it seems very nutritious."

Lin Fan smiled as he watched them gradually adapt to Earth's food. "This stuff tastes even better if it's cooked."

With that, he began to busy himself, skillfully picking up a spatula to prepare lunch for everyone.

The three of them curiously observed Lin Fan's actions, gradually imitating his movements as they began to chop vegetables and heat the cookware.

Seeing their dedication, Lin Fan couldn't help but smile, feeling a touch of warmth in his heart. However, it wasn't long before the three of them pushed him aside.

"Young Master, go and rest. Cooking is so much fun; we'll do it ourselves." Princess Jin Xuan said with a smile, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Yes, Young Master, go take a rest. We will make it." Princess Hu Qinlan also said gently.

Lin Fan could only smile helplessly, thinking to himself that he had truly been "banished."

So, he found a seat and waited silently for them to finish cooking.

Just then, the door to the next room was pushed open, and Zhang Ming rubbed his eyes as he walked out.

When he saw the three women in the living room, he froze instantly, his expression shifting from confusion to shock, and then to disbelief.

"These… these three… did they Transmigrate from an immortal cultivation world, or did I Transmigrate into an immortal cultivation world myself?"

Zhang Ming looked bewildered, his mind unable to process what was happening for a moment.

Seeing Zhang Ming's reaction, the three women all offered polite smiles.

Yin Miaoxue spoke elegantly: "Hello, we are friends of Lin Fan, from… far away."

Zhang Ming's mouth hung slightly open, countless possibilities flashing through his mind, but in the end, he could only mutter: "This… how is this possible?"

Seeing Zhang Ming's expression, Lin Fan couldn't help but smile. He stood up, walked over, and patted his shoulder.

"Don't worry, Zhang Ming. You didn't Transmigrate; you just met a few special friends."

Zhang Ming was still a bit dazed. "Special friends? You mean them? This is just too… too…"

He looked at the three women's exquisite faces and elegant manners, unable to find the words to describe them.

In the end, he could only start his day as a wage slave.

Even though it was the weekend, Zhang Ming still chose to go out to work.

Lin Fan watched their busy figures, a plan gradually forming in his mind.

He had returned to one month before the accident occurred. He had to uncover the truth behind that accident.

Was it an accident, or was there more to it? He began to recall the details surrounding the accident in his mind.

It was a rainy night, and the air was filled with the scent of dampness and engine oil.

He remembered going to a repair shop in the slums in the south of the city.

The shop's storefront was small, but the lights were unexpectedly bright, and the sign read, "Nanxing Digital Repair — Computers, Mobile Phones, No Charge If Not Fixed!"

The neon lights at the door flickered with a "crackle, crackle," occasionally sparking.

Lin Fan pushed open the door and walked in with his broken laptop.

The shop was filled with mountains of old electronic equipment, and the air was mixed with the smell of aging wires and solder.

A middle-aged Repair Master wearing old work clothes looked up, his expression tired, and instinctively said:

"Welcome! Sir, it's so late, and you drove here; you've really had a hard journey."

Lin Fan was taken aback, then shook his head and replied, "I walked here; I hitched a ride."

The Repair Master's expression was a bit strange, as if he had sensed something, but he didn't say much, just gave a perfunctory smile:

"Ah, I see. Well, that must have been tiring for you."

In reality, Lin Fan had indeed driven here; the car was something he had scavenged from a vehicle graveyard.

It was a "starfire c9," a highly futuristic sports car with a streamlined body like a sharp blade, equipped with a holographic console and an energy-driven System; it was a symbol of high society in 2134.

This car was not only packed with technology but also equipped with automatic navigation and superconducting levitation, making it a "Divine Artifact" of a vehicle that every wealthy person coveted.

But to Lin Fan, this car was merely a "repair project" he had bought at scrap price through an Opportunity.

Although the shell was shiny, the internal System was incomplete, and the automatic driving function couldn't start, so he had to operate it manually every time he went out.

What made him even more helpless was that driving such a car would undoubtedly make people mistake him for a rich man.

But in reality, the money in his pocket might not even be enough to fix this laptop.

To avoid attracting attention, he always tried to park in secluded corners whenever he stopped.

The Repair Master's attitude made Lin Fan feel a bit uncomfortable.

He said in a low voice, "Could you please take a look at it quickly? The laptop has been broken for quite a while."

Immediately after, he found a chair in front of the counter and sat down, waiting quietly for the repair results.
