Chapter 44: Gradually Understanding Everything

"—Yes, that's right. The appearance of that Creature is exactly as this gentleman described. How did you know?"

Cage ignored her and turned to look at Brigham.

"General, the things I wanted to tell you included this Creature."

Brigham gave Cage a deep look.

"You all, come with me."

In the conference room.

Brigham sat at the head of the table, with various officers seated below him.

Cage and Rita stood awkwardly on either side of Brigham.

Although Cage had roughly explained what happened to him, Brigham remained skeptical.

Simply put, he didn't believe a word Cage said.

But the question was, how did Cage know about that Creature that could fire beams?

And he could even describe the Creature's appearance!

One must know, when that Creature emerged from the sea, Cage was still in this building, doing everything he could to avoid the coming and going personnel.

Could it be that Cage had precognitive abilities?

Wasn't that even more absurd than gaining the ability to restart time after being drenched in the blood of some Alien creatures?

But whether Cage was telling the truth or lying, he would confirm it later.

The current problem was, could today's operation still proceed?

One must know, all major military regions were already prepared, just waiting for the time to arrive to head to the designated location for the most important war that would decide the fate of humanity!

And precisely at this moment, a Creature of immense size appeared, possessing a terrifying ability to strike any point on Earth.

And now, that Creature was attacking an unknown target across half the map.

If that Creature turned its gun and attacked them instead, could they withstand it?

Even if they hid on the other side of the planet, if that Creature truly wanted to attack them, it could simply attack downwards. As long as the energy output was sufficient, that Creature could even create a hole in the planet beneath their feet!

Facing this Creature capable of utterly annihilating civilization, even Brigham, who had never despaired when facing those Alien creatures, couldn't help but feel a sense of powerlessness.

Because he simply didn't know of any weapon in human hands that could pose a threat to it.

And the bad news didn't stop there.

If before he had viewed Cage as nothing more than a lying coward, then after describing the Creature's appearance, those words gained a hint of credibility.

And it was this slight hint of credibility that gave Brigham an ominous premonition about this operation.

If this operation truly was a trap set by the Alien creatures—he dared not imagine what would happen next.

On the screen, that Creature fired a blue beam every few seconds.

Each beam lasted for at least a minute!

Since this Creature appeared, it had already released more than a dozen beams.

And they had long been observing via satellite, trying to find out what that Creature was attacking.

But in the end, they found nothing.

Because the Creature's attack range was simply too vast!

Even if Godzilla moved only a millimeter, the Atomic Breath it emitted would ultimately deviate by an increasingly large distance!

Watching Godzilla's almost non-stop continuous attacks, Cage felt like he had overlooked something.

He had overlooked a very crucial matter.

If he could remember, he would very likely immediately know what that Creature was attacking.

What exactly was that Creature attacking?

Cage had been pondering this question.

When Cage learned that Godzilla could fire beams, he himself was shocked.

But he quickly recovered.

Alien predators, it's normal for them to be able to fire beams, right?

But Godzilla's frantic attacks towards an unknown entity on the other side puzzled him.

Shouldn't Godzilla be swimming in another direction, then finding him, and finally going to look for Omega?

Before coming, Cage had already discussed it with Dr. Carter.

They believed the reason that Alien predator came to find Cage.

It was highly likely that he wanted to use him to find Omega's location.

Without him, how would that Alien predator find Omega's location?

Moreover, Cage looked at Godzilla's non-stop attacks, and inexplicably felt that this Creature seemed to be in a fit of pique.

Wait!

Cage's eyes suddenly widened.

Finding Omega's location—in a fit of pique—Cage ignored everyone in the office, and under Brigham's puzzled gaze, he leaned over a map nearby, gesticulating at something.

Cage turned around and snatched a pen from an officer's hand, drawing on the map.

He first drew a circle on the map, which was Godzilla's location, and then drew another circle on the other side, which was Omega's location that Godzilla had found in his memory.

Because he didn't remember exactly where Godzilla had found Omega, the area covered by this circle was very large.

But it was enough.

Cage looked at the two circles he had drawn and gradually understood everything.

"We all underestimated the terror of that Alien predator. That Creature must be able to retain its memories throughout the time loop!"

Cage had figured it all out.

That Alien predator had found Omega's main body, but failed at the last moment.

So, in a fit of pique, he began to frantically attack Omega's location!

But, at such a great distance, could he really hit Omega?

"Major Cage."

Brigham's voice brought Cage back to his senses.

Seeing everyone in the conference room looking at him, Cage quickly apologized.

Then, he stated his conjecture.

Of course, they were equally skeptical.

—Although more than a dozen Atomic Breaths had been released without hitting Omega, Godzilla was not discouraged by this; it wasn't him who should be panicking anyway.

Godzilla was not in a hurry.

And just as Godzilla had guessed.

Omega was now like a headless fly, frantically shifting positions underground.

If there was a map depicting the underground world at this moment, it would surely look dazzling.

Because you wouldn't be able to find a beginning or an end!

And in fact, there was no need for a beginning or an end.

Omega was fleeing for its life at this moment, it only needed to avoid the attacks, so why would it need to find a way?

And so, up, down, front, back, left, and right, all were passages dug by those Alien creatures.

And among these passages, there were nearly ten straight ones, of unknown length, as if cast from lava.

Those were clearly not dug by Alien creatures; on the contrary, Omega was avoiding these passages.
