Chapter 59: Ant Tide

Lin Chen bit her lip, her eyes slightly red. “But they are my people… I can’t just watch them get captured, I…”

These words were like a bomb, leaving Dan Xiner and the others stunned.

“Lin Chen, how can you be an Elf Race member? Didn’t the Elf Race go extinct in the Chaos Era?”

Dan Xiner’s eyes widened, looking at Lin Chen in disbelief, her gaze sweeping back and forth between Lin Chen's delicate face and ears.

“But I remember, Elf Race members have pointed ears, and yours…”

Dan Xiner was a little incoherent, but the curiosity and surprise in her eyes couldn't be hidden.

Lin Chen lowered her head, bit her lip, no longer hiding, and gently raised her hand, removing the disguise that concealed her identity.

As a faint glow flashed, her ears slowly elongated, gradually becoming pointed, outlining the unique contours of the Elf Race.

Coupled with her clear, light green eyes, this was clearly an Elf Race member!

“Lin Chen, you really are…”

Dan Xiner couldn't help but exclaim, her eyes wide, taking a step forward, reaching out to touch Lin Chen’s ear, but Lin Fan gently stopped her.

“How stingy. I’m also a girl, what’s wrong with touching it?”

Lin Fan quickly changed the subject, “The extinction of the Elf Race is related to an unbelievable historical dark hand.

Lin Chen has been hiding her identity because she doesn't want to bring us unnecessary trouble.

Now that everyone knows, you must help her keep it a secret.”

Dan Xiner stuck out her tongue, reluctantly withdrawing her hand, but her eyes still held an undeniable curiosity:

“Alright, alright, I’ll keep it a secret, but Lin Chen is really beautiful. Pointed ears with these green eyes, really, why can’t I touch them?”

Lin Chen lowered her head slightly, a blush rising on her cheeks, and whispered, “Elf Race ears are very sensitive; you can’t just touch them, or else…”

Xiao Du pushed up his round glasses, interrupting, “The demise of the Elf Race involved too many forces and secrets, and it remains a taboo topic for many historians.

If Lin Chen's identity is exposed, it will likely attract countless enemies.”

Lin Fan repeated in a low voice, “Everyone must guard this secret. The Elf Race was annihilated in the Age of Gods.

None of those old monsters are someone we can deal with.”

Dan Xiner pouted, crossed her arms over her chest, and snorted softly, “Alright, alright, since it’s that serious, I definitely won’t blab.”

Mu Xueyan’s expression was cool as she said faintly, “The Mirror Sect has already thrown the Five Regions into chaos. If you add those old monsters from the Age of Gods, how can the Canglan Immortal Domain survive? I definitely won’t speak carelessly.”

Xue Yao and Ye Youming also stated that they would not reveal this matter.

Lin Chen returned to her usual appearance, looking like an ordinary Human Race member.

The group quickly followed Sal's footsteps and left the ancient castle.

On the road of the Desolate Valley, a convoy of escort vehicles slowly moved forward.

The convoy consisted of three heavy prison carts, each made of black iron, with runes carved on the outside to suppress spiritual energy, exuding a chilling aura.

Inside the prison carts, several Elf Girls were tightly bound by chains, their loose silver hair falling messily over their shoulders, their originally crystal-clear, jade-like eyes now devoid of luster.

Their once exquisite dresses were covered in dust, and heavy iron shackles adorned their slender wrists, cold chains rubbing against their delicate skin, leaving streaks of blood.

One of the younger Elf Girls leaned in the corner of the carriage, hugging her knees, trembling slightly.

She helplessly looked outside the prison cart, her light green eyes filled with tears, sobbing softly:

“Sisters… will we die?” Her voice was weak, as if it would dissipate with the wind.

Another Elf Girl next to her suppressed her sadness, gently embracing her, and comforted in a low voice, “Don’t be afraid… someone will surely come to save us…”

But her voice also trembled, clearly lacking any confidence in her words.

Outside the prison cart, small Goblins were slowly pushing the carts forward.

Their skin was grayish-green, their faces covered with rough wrinkles, and their bright, thieving eyes stared intently at the Elf Girls in the carts.

“Tsk tsk, look at these Elf Girls, this skin, this appearance, truly fresh and lovely!”

One Goblin licked his lips, a greedy glint in his eyes, “If I could have one, that would be wonderful!”

“Are you crazy?!” Another Goblin glared at him fiercely, lowering his voice and saying,

“Are you tired of living or something? These Elf Girls are treasures of the nobles! If even a single hair is missing, our lives are forfeit!”

Just as he spoke, a whip crack suddenly cut through the air, striking the backs of the two Goblins with a loud snap.

The Orc supervisor, holding a long whip, coldly cursed, “Don’t be lazy there! Push faster! If you delay the Lord’s time, you’ll all die!”

The two Goblins grimaced in pain, shrinking their necks, daring not to say more, and quickly lowered their heads to continue pushing the cart.

Beside the prison carts were several tall Orc guards, clad in heavy armor, wielding long halberds, their gazes cold, constantly vigilant of their surroundings.

A scaly Lizardman walked at the front of the team; he was the captain of the escort, his gaze sweeping around like a刀, occasionally giving low commands:

“Stay alert! Kill anyone who approaches without question!”

The entire convoy was silent and oppressive; besides the sound of wheels crushing stones, there was only the clanging of chains and the suppressed sobs of the Elf Girls.

Deep in the dense forest, Sal half-crouched behind thick bushes, a strange, cold smile appearing on his calm face.

He took out a bone flute glowing with a faint green light from his waist and gently blew it.

A low and strange flute sound echoed through the silent dense forest.

The sound pierced the air, reaching deep underground.

A faint “rustling” sound arose in the dense forest, as if countless things were rapidly crawling.

Soon, a dark red tide surged from the depths of the dense forest—those Blood Ant Insects.

They were about the size of a fist, their bodies covered in hard carapaces, their mandibles opening to reveal sharp fangs.

Each Blood Ant’s eyes glowed with a crimson light, like bloodthirsty fiends.

These Blood Ant Insects were extremely numerous, densely covering the forest floor and tree trunks.

They moved swiftly, approaching the convoy’s position like a tide.

The grass ahead was flattened into mud by them, tree leaves trembled violently from their crawling, and even the air was filled with a pungent smell of blood.

At the same time, the escort convoy seemed to have noticed something amiss.

The Lizardman captain at the very front stopped, sniffed the air vigorously with his nose, and coldly shouted, “Be careful, everyone! Something is approaching!”

The Orc guards immediately heightened their vigilance, their long halberds raised in defensive stances, looking around.

However, the rustling sound in the forest grew closer, and their tension could not stop the onslaught of the dark red tide.

“What’s that sound?” A Goblin looked in horror towards the dense forest, almost overturning his pushcart.

The next moment, the Blood Ant Insects had swarmed onto the road where the convoy was! They quickly climbed onto the prison cart wheels, the guards' armor, and the surrounding tree trunks, moving swiftly and without hesitation.

Their huge, sharp fangs were incredibly keen, instantly biting through the Orc guards' armor, and screams erupted everywhere.

“Ahhh! What are these abominations!” A guard desperately swung his halberd to drive away the Blood Ants, but their overwhelming numbers made his struggles meaningless.

In just a moment, his entire body was covered by Blood Ants, and his painful wails turned into suffocating growls.
