Chapter 65: Blood Refining Method

After teleporting three times, the Flying Sword's color had turned light green. Whether looking at the light it emitted or the sound of the sword hum, one could clearly see that it was in an extremely weak state.

Not long after, the Flying Sword, which had stopped teleporting, was forced to retreat repeatedly by two streaks of golden light. Wang Lin's eyes narrowed, and he opened his mouth to spit out another mouthful of Spiritual Qi. The Flying Sword could not dodge in time and was immediately enveloped by the Spiritual Qi. The two streaks of golden light circled outside the Spiritual Qi like two dragons; whenever they sensed the Flying Sword trying to break out, they would immediately approach, forcing it to remain trapped.

As time passed, the Flying Sword's struggling movements did not ease; instead, they became increasingly violent. The Spiritual Qi enveloping it slowly dissipated. Wang Lin gritted his teeth, spat out another mouthful of Spiritual Qi, formed a Hand Seal, and continued the refining process.

A night passed quietly, and the Flying Sword finally showed signs of calming down. Wang Lin's face was pale; in this one night, he had already spat out dozens of mouthfuls of Spiritual Qi.

Even with his cultivation at the fifteenth layer of Qi Condensation, combined with the help of the Spiritual Qi liquid, he felt physically and mentally exhausted, barely holding on.

The morning sunlight drifted in through the window. Wang Lin's refining was still ongoing. The Flying Sword was no longer struggling, hovering calmly in mid-air, as wisps of Spiritual Qi carrying Wang Lin's Divine Sense slowly permeated into the Flying Sword.

Just then, Wang Lin's expression shifted. Not long after, a knock on the door sounded, and Zhang Hu's voice came from outside.

"Wang Lin, do you want to go to the tool shop in Teng Family City with me?"

Wang Lin took a deep breath and said loudly, "Zhang Hu, I am at a critical moment in my cultivation, you go by yourself."

Zhang Hu stood outside the door, stunned. After pondering for a moment, he stopped speaking and instead sat cross-legged outside Wang Lin's room.

Wang Lin paid no more attention to Zhang Hu and continued refining. Time ticked by, and night fell once again. He had already drunk three Gourds of Spiritual Artifact liquid, but the Flying Sword was still not fully refined.

Helpless, Wang Lin had no choice but to consult Situ Nan.

"Kid, finally know to come to me? Hmph, I've been waiting. If you are willing to go into seclusion for ten years and use a large amount of Spiritual Qi liquid, you might actually be able to refine this Flying Sword. I don't mean in the Heaven Defying space, but in reality," Situ Nan said unhurriedly.

"So long?" Wang Lin frowned.

"Of course. This is a Magic Treasure, and a super High Grade one at that. It must have been made by some madman at the Late Stage of Core Formation, who, at the moment of forming his Nascent Soul, disregarded his own safety and even risked failure, using the instant of Fusion with Heaven and Earth during the Nascent Soul formation to expend great effort to create it. Truly a madman. Back then, I also wanted to do this, but after considering it for a long time, I didn't dare. You must know that failing to form a Nascent Soul doesn't matter, but the period during it is the most dangerous. A single mistake would trigger the collapse of one's own Divine Sense, leading to a death without a burial place."

"That Bai Zhan must have been helped by the Flying Sword's creator at that time, which is how he refined it into his own possession. If my Physical Body were still here, I could naturally refine it with ease, but now… I have no way… However…" Situ Nan said slowly.

Wang Lin had now figured out Situ Nan's temper and knew that the old guy particularly liked to keep people in suspense. He was not anxious and waited quietly for the rest.

After a while, Situ Nan sighed and muttered, "Forget it, I'll tell you. Using normal refining methods for this thing takes too much time. I will teach you a method called the Blood Refining technique. The advantage is that you can immediately make this Flying Sword your own. The disadvantage is that once the Flying Sword is damaged, you will also be implicated, and this implication is several times more severe than refining it using other methods."

Wang Lin pondered for a moment and said, "Speak, how is this Blood Refining method performed?"

Situ Nan wanted to keep Wang Lin in suspense, but thinking that this kid would definitely ignore him, he simply stated the method, but added a condition at the end.

"I haven't touched a woman in many years. No matter what you say, you have to let me have some fun, even if it's just watching!"

Wang Lin was non-committal. Following Situ Nan's method, he crossed his hands and formed strange Hand Seals. He bit the tip of his tongue and spat out a mouthful of blood mist containing Spiritual power. Changing the Hand Seal with his right hand, he immediately drew a strange symbol in the air.

As soon as the symbol was drawn, it was immediately struck into the blood mist. The blood mist churned and rapidly contracted into the symbol. Gradually, the blood color on the symbol grew deeper. Wang Lin's eyes flashed, and he struck the air with his left hand; the blood-colored symbol was instantly imprinted onto the Flying Sword.

The Flying Sword trembled and immediately emitted wisps of white vapor.

Wang Lin immediately spat out another mouthful of blood mist. His expression looked slightly withered, but his gaze was even more determined. He flipped his right hand, and an even stranger symbol was drawn, which, after merging with the blood mist, struck the Flying Sword.

This process lasted for several hours. It wasn't until the morning of the third day that a sword hum came from Wang Lin's room, which then instantly dissipated. Zhang Hu had been sitting cross-legged outside the room and stood up abruptly at this moment.

Wang Lin's door opened silently. Wang Lin wore a smile, feeling extremely pleased, and said, "Zhang Hu, thank you."

Zhang Hu looked at Wang Lin with a strange expression and said, "What Cultivation Technique are you Cultivating? Why did I hear a sword hum just now?"

Wang Lin opened his mouth, and a small green sword immediately flew out, carrying a chilling aura. Once this sword appeared, a scent of blood instantly permeated the surroundings.

Zhang Hu was stunned and exclaimed, "This… is this my master's Flying Sword? You refined it? Eh, why is there such a strong scent of blood?"

Wang Lin nodded and summoned with his right hand. The Flying Sword instantly returned to his side and was swallowed into his mouth. Wang Lin was also quite annoyed about this scent of blood; Situ Nan had only told him slowly after the Blood Refining was successful that all Magic Treasures refined through Blood Refining would emit a rich scent of blood, and as he killed more people in the future, this scent of blood would become even heavier.

Zhang Hu stared blankly at the Flying Sword. After a long while, he took a deep breath and said, "Wang Lin, I am impressed by you. With this Flying Sword, ordinary people cannot easily hurt you. The key to this Flying Sword lies in teleportation. Depending on the amount of Spiritual power its owner has, the distance of the teleportation will vary, but when used by surprise, it is definitely a Sharp Weapon for killing."

The two chatted for a few more sentences, and Zhang Hu stood up to leave. Before leaving, he told Wang Lin that three days later would be the date of the beginning-of-the-month trading fair, and told him to prepare.

After Zhang Hu left, Wang Lin took the Scabbard out of his Storage Pouch. Even Situ Nan kept marveling at this Scabbard, not knowing what grade of Magic Treasure it was.

Wang Lin had previously thought that this Scabbard and the Flying Sword should be one piece, but after refining the Flying Sword and looking at it carefully, he discovered the difference between the two.

This Scabbard exuded an aura of desolation from its ancient simplicity. The more he looked, the heavier this killing intent became. Gradually, Wang Lin felt as if he were personally on the scene, his mind a blank, save for a blurry sword.
