Chapter 67: Hunter

Bang bang bang ~

The Executioner, like a child who had his toy snatched away, angrily strode towards Hank, wanting to reclaim his weapon.

Hank, meanwhile, raised his large axe and swung it at the Executioner.

Buzz ~

The Executioner dodged the axe by sidestepping, and it slammed into the ground.

The large axe striking the hard ground caused it to vibrate continuously, and the force transferred to Hank's hands, making him almost lose his grip on the axe handle.

The Executioner remained silent, or rather, it had already lost the ability to speak.

It lifted its foot and stomped fiercely towards the large axe that was stuck in the ground.

Seeing this, Hank tightly gripped the axe handle, pulled it back with force, and then once again raised the large axe to strike at the Executioner.

Bang ~

The Executioner's foot missed, kicking up dust all around.

It looked up and saw the large axe coming down again.

This time, the Executioner did not dodge and was struck on the shoulder by the large axe.

Pshhh ~

The chilling sound of flesh tearing reached Hank's ears, followed by the sensation of bones being shattered, and then, the large axe became lodged in the Executioner's shoulder.

This large axe, having cut into the Executioner's left shoulder, had forcefully cleaved all the way to the Executioner's chest, with the entire blade embedded, leaving only a small tip exposed.

No matter what Creature, sustaining such severe injuries, there would be no reason for survival.

This blow could be said to have pulverized most of the internal organs within its chest.

However, the bio-engineered Executioner seemed to feel no pain from its injuries, merely gripping the large axe embedded in its body.

It had not yet given up on reclaiming its weapon.

Hank pulled hard, finding that the large axe was firmly stuck and couldn't be pulled out quickly.

Furthermore, with the Executioner gripping the axe handle, he truly couldn't just abandon the large axe like that.

Hank looked at the large axe, which had sliced from the Executioner's left shoulder into its chest, and the gushing crimson blood, his eyes hardening.

He voluntarily released the axe handle from his hand, then raised his right leg high and brought it down forcefully onto the large axe!

Pshhh ~

The large axe, already deeply embedded in the Executioner's chest, plunged another third of the way in, the entire axe head completely disappearing into the Executioner's chest.

This blow seemed to have struck a vital point of the Executioner; its right hand, which had been tightly gripping the large axe, fell limply, and its massive body dropped to its knees with a thud.

It seemed the Executioner was dead.

But Hank's intuition told him that this thing wasn't entirely dead; on the contrary, its damaged internal organs were rapidly self-repairing.

Hank keenly noticed that the large axe, which had been deeply embedded in the Executioner's chest, had actually been pushed out a little.

Seeing this, Hank did not hesitate, gripping the large axe with both hands and applying continuous force, brutally cleaving the Executioner in half.

The large axe, entering from the Executioner's left shoulder, exited from its right flank, cutting the Executioner into upper and lower sections.

With such severe injuries, there was no reason for the Executioner to survive.

However, being a modified Individual, its vitality would not completely dissipate for a while.

It extended its intact right hand towards Hank, seemingly wanting to take Hank down with it in its final moments.

Bang ~

Hank raised the large axe high, then brought it down heavily.

As if a watermelon was being smashed, or an egg was breaking, the Executioner's head shattered in response.

This time, the Executioner was completely still.

Hank swung the giant axe, then hoisted the large axe, which was a head taller than himself, onto his shoulder and turned to leave.

Although not much time had passed from when he encountered the Executioner to when he killed him.

But the surrounding zombies had already gathered; if he stayed any longer, he would be surrounded.

It would then take much more effort to escape, which would not be worth it.

Even carrying a large axe weighing dozens of pounds, Hank's speed did not slow down at all; he left the zombies far behind.

And those zombies, after losing Hank's trail, stupidly chased along the road.

Meanwhile, Hank had already changed direction halfway, returning to a small mountain not far from the base.

Now, with zombies everywhere, for him, this place with a large number of wild animals offered excellent food sources.

Under Raccoon City, inside the Umbrella Corporation's secret base.

In a room filled with screens, a voice suddenly sounded.

"Starting three days ago, some special mutated Individuals have appeared all over the world. The appearance of these Individuals has no pattern; there are humans, animals, and even zombies already infected with the t-virus have shown mutated Individuals."

"And then?"

"These mutated Individuals are very likely to affect our plans."

In the center of the screen, footage of Hank killing the Executioner in just a few moves was being played.

After it finished playing, the next footage showed a humanoid Creature five meters tall, with three blade-like spines on its back and a long tail, looking like a Godzilla in a suit, slaughtering zombies.

Following that, there was another Creature, very similar to the previous one but moving on all fours, more like a beast, hunting all Creatures, whether zombies, animals, or humans—everything was their food!

"These mutated Individuals are very likely not products of the t-virus. I suggest capturing them. I think they might bring us some surprises."

Wesker looked at one g-virus infected Individual after another on the screen and then ordered, "Deploy the Tyrants; capture them all!"

"Understood."

Not far from Wesker, Red Queen's projection nodded slightly.

Then, Red Queen looked at the mutated Individuals on the screen and, inexplicably, had an ominous premonition that only humans would experience.

Could these Individuals be more complex than she thought?

Wesker, however, didn't think much of it, simply assuming these Individuals were the result of the t-virus mutating and then producing other new viruses, which then gave rise to these powerful Individuals.

They would never have imagined that these were viruses from another world.

Umbrella Corporation quickly took action, dispatching a large number of Hunters and Tyrants to operate together, targeting the g-virus Individuals that were closer to or within the City.

As for those Individuals in the deep sea and far from towns, they would have to be dealt with later.

Besides, they didn't have that many troops.

Although Umbrella Corporation had developed many bio-weapons, not many were successful.

Among them, the Hunter was considered the most cost-effective bio-weapon.

Most of these Hunters were about 1.5 meters tall, looking like large frogs.

Hunters did not possess the formidable defensive capabilities and terrifying speed of Tyrants; perhaps, in front of a Tyrant, only their speed was worth noting.

But bio-weapons were developed to deal with humans.
