Chapter 7: Taking Precautions
Watching Zhou Feng's receding figure.
Zhou Huai did not waver in the slightest.
Perhaps this old fellow had his own unspeakable difficulties.
But the current Zhou Huai could not forgive this man's actions on behalf of the original owner.
To put it bluntly, if not for this man's coldness and ruthlessness…
The original owner would not have died of depression.
Old Butler Fu Bo walked in.
He had heard the conversation between the two of them clearly outside.
"Young Master, you… why don't you have a proper talk with Master?"
Fu Bo's voice carried a hint of hesitation and comfort.
"After all, you are still a member of the Zhou Family."
Zhou Huai waved his hand, interrupting him: "Fu Bo, let's not talk about this matter anymore."
"I need you to do something for me now."
Fu Bo's expression turned solemn as he respectfully said: "Young Master, please give your instructions."
Zhou Huai said: "Take the crystal card Young Miss Ye Xi gave you and go rent a few apartments."
"The locations should be more scattered. The environment can be ordinary, but it must be quiet and convenient for coming and going."
"Most importantly, remember to be discreet."
"Do not expose any of our information, and don't let people trace that I asked you to rent them."
Although Fu Bo was puzzled in his heart, he never asked for reasons regarding the Young Master's orders and only executed them.
"This old servant understands."
He nodded, asked no further questions, and turned to leave.
Watching Fu Bo's receding figure, Zhou Huai already had a plan in mind.
This was taking precautions.
His Clones were destined to show themselves to others in various different faces in the future.
Every powerful Clone needed to have its own independent persona and background identity.
Naturally, they also needed their respective "residences."
In this way, even if a certain Clone became famous in the future, was tracked, or received continuous attention, people would only trace that Clone's forged identity and residence, and it wouldn't easily implicate him, the main body.
After all, the current main body was simply too weak and couldn't withstand any storms.
Once he had more Clones in the future and his strength was strong enough, he could arrange for a Clone to protect him from the shadows at all times.
As for now, it was best to develop stealthily and improve his strength.
After finishing all these arrangements, Zhou Huai once again cast his attention toward Yasuo inside the Trial Tower.
At this moment, under the control of the smart core ai, Yasuo's combat skills had become increasingly consummate.
Every move and style of his was filled with the charm of a Great Master of the Dao.
Amidst the surging horde of exotic beasts, he was like a swift bolt of thunder, engaging in a frantic slaughter.
Wherever the sword light passed, the exotic beasts lost their heads one after another.
Most importantly, other Professionals would inevitably feel fatigued after long periods of high-intensity combat, consuming a large amount of Mental Energy and Physique, requiring rest and replenishment.
But Yasuo did not need to!
The formidable Physique of an S-Rank profession, coupled with the precise control of the ai, turned him into a tireless combat machine.
As long as there were still enemies, he could keep killing endlessly!
Seeing that everything on Yasuo's side was normal and progressing rapidly, Zhou Huai returned his consciousness to the main body once again.
Yasuo didn't need rest, but he, the main body, couldn't hold on.
Concentrating on the Clone for a long time was also a consumption of his energy.
Afterwards, he peacefully lay down on the bed and fell fast asleep.
…
This sleep was exceptionally sweet for Zhou Huai.
When he woke up again, the sky outside the window was already somewhat dim.
Looking at the electronic clock by the bed, the time strikingly displayed: 5:13 PM.
"Hiss…"
Zhou Huai drew in a cold breath.
"Did I actually sleep for so long?"
He remembered that when Zhou Feng left, it was around 11:00 AM.
This sleep lasted for a full six-plus hours!
Zhou Huai muttered to himself, his brows tightly furrowed.
He didn't know since when, but he felt that his sleep time seemed to be getting longer and longer.
Clearly he had already gotten sufficient sleep at night, but during the day he still felt drowsy, weak, and lacking in spirit from time to time.
This was definitely not a good sign.
Zhou Huai frowned and fell into deep thought.
Could it be… because of that bizarre power of the curse on his body?
This power of the curse was very peculiar.
It imprisoned his lower limbs, making him unable to stand and walk.
But Zhou Huai could clearly feel the existence of his legs. Massaging the various Acupoints and muscles of his legs could also produce a normal sore and swollen feeling.
Yet once he tried to mobilize power to stand up, that power of the curse would instantly flare up, causing all his efforts to fall short at the last hurdle.
Now, this power didn't seem satisfied with merely paralyzing his body.
Was it preparing to start eroding his spirit?
Thinking of this, Zhou Huai's heart tightened.
It seemed he had to find a way to solve the curse problem on his body sooner rather than later.
Otherwise, before his Clones even grew up, he, the main body, would kick the bucket first—that would be a huge loss.
Shaking his head, he temporarily cast aside these distracting thoughts.
Zhou Huai closed his eyes, and his consciousness once again connected to Yasuo's side.
Instantly, a massive stream of information flooded into Zhou Huai's mind.
This was all the experiences and memories of Yasuo in the Trial Tower from the time he fell asleep until now, which were currently synchronizing with the main body.
In these short six-plus hours, Yasuo had swept all the way through at a terrifying speed, successfully fighting his way to the seventh floor of the Trial Tower!
At the same time, his Rank had also soared to LV5!
Zhou Huai immediately brought up Yasuo's attribute panel.
[Clone Panel (Yasuo)]
[Profession: Unique Hidden Profession, S-Rank Thunder Sword Master]
[Rank: LV5 (750 / 2500)]
[Health Points: 450 / 450]
[Mana Points: 300 / 300]
[Strength: 110]
[Agility: 205]
[Physique: 100]
[Mental Energy: 90]
[Skill List:]
[Passive Skill: Riding the Wind (Rank: LV1)]
[Skill 1 (Passive): Sharp Sword Intent – Self Agility attribute increased by 100%. Basic attacks carry the power of thunder, dealing an additional 10% thunder damage to the target, and can conduct to a maximum of 5 surrounding enemy units, dealing 30% attack power of splash damage.]
[Skill 2 (Active): Thunderous Strike – Consumes 20 Mana Points, instantly slashing out a sword containing the power of thunder forward, dealing 150% attack power of thunder damage to enemies on a straight path, and has a chance to inflict paralysis effect (lasting 1 second). Cooldown: 10 seconds.]
[Skill 3 (Active): Lightning Rush (Rank: LV1) – Consumes 30 Mana Points, turning into thunder light to dash forward a distance, dealing 120% attack power of thunder damage to all enemies along the path, and greatly increasing self movement speed by % in a short time. Cooldown: 20 seconds.]
"Hiss—"
After reading Yasuo's attributes, Zhou Huai once again couldn't help but draw in a cold breath.
As expected of an S-Rank profession!
Only at level five, all attributes had already comprehensively broken through three digits!
Especially Agility, which directly soared past two hundred points!
With these attributes, he was probably already comparable to those B-Rank Professionals around level fifteen!
Not to mention that astonishing Agility, as well as the active movement and AOE skill [Lightning Rush] newly learned at level five.
With this skill, those small monsters on the seventh floor probably wouldn't even be able to touch the corner of Yasuo's clothes!
Zhou Huai took another look at his own main body's attribute panel after upgrading to level five.
[Name: Zhou Huai]
[Profession: E-Rank Clone Master]
[Rank: LV5 (20 / 1250)]
[Health Points: 120 / 120]
[Mana Points: 90 / 90]
[Strength: 15]
[Agility: 14]
[Physique: 16]
[Spirit: 20]
[Active Skill: Create Clone (Rank: LV2)]
[Effect: Consumes 10 Mana Points to create a Clone. Current Clone quantity limit: 2. Clone attributes are 50% of the main body.]
[Note: The God-level Clone System has overwritten some effects.]
Zhou Huai's mouth couldn't help but twitch.
The main body leveled up four times, and the improvement in various attributes was simply negligible, with only a pitiful dozen or twenty points.
The only bright spot was that the [Create Clone] skill had upgraded to LV2, and the maximum number of Clones had become two.
"Sigh…"
Zhou Huai felt powerless to retort inwardly.
No wonder E-Rank professions were universally recognized as trash.
The gap between this and an S-Rank profession was really not just a little bit; it was simply a world of difference!
