Chapter 859 Leaving

"Zhou… Zhou, little brother." The Red-haired Strongman stammered, lacking any of his previous ruggedness and unrestraint.

Zhou Huai ignored him and walked straight up to Elder Mo, who was slumped on the deck.

Cupping the abyssal nether chain that emitted a dim golden light in both hands, he solemnly handed it over.

"Elder Mo, this Divine Artifact is now returned to its rightful owner." Zhou Huai spoke in a sincere tone.

If not for this ultimate Divine Artifact of The Seventh World restraining the High-Dimensional Law of the Sea God just now, slaying him would never have gone so smoothly.

However, Elder Mo did not reach out to take it.

He slowly raised his head, a relieved smile hanging on his old, gully-ridden face.

He looked at Zhou Huai, then at the chain that trembled slightly in the hand of Zhou Huai as if it had a life of its own, and slowly shook his head.

"Zhou Huai, I cannot accept this chain."

"Why?" Zhou Huai furrowed his brow slightly.

"Because it has already found the master most suitable for it." The voice of Elder Mo was hoarse, yet it exuded a clarity that saw through worldly affairs.

"The abyssal nether chain was forged using the final Law foundation of The Seventh World. Its very existence is meant to break conventions and restrain high dimensions." Elder Mo looked deeply at Zhou Huai.

"And in you, this old man sees traits that do not belong to the underlying logic of the Heavenly Dao of the current world. You can unleash one hundred percent of its power without any obstruction, and even let its artifact spirit voluntarily acknowledge you as master."

"Staying with this old man, it is merely a piece of cold scrap iron. But in your hands, it might become the sharp blade that cleaves through this doomsday maze."

Elder Mo extended his withered hand and pushed the hand of Zhou Huai holding the chain back.

"Accept it. Consider it a bit of expectation for you from this old man and us ghosts of the old era."

Zhou Huai looked at the firm gaze of Elder Mo and remained silent for a moment.

He no longer put on airs or declined, instead turning his hand to store the abyssal nether chain into the System space.

"Many thanks, Elder Mo. This Junior will definitely not disgrace this Divine Artifact." Zhou Huai nodded solemnly.

Immediately afterwards, his tone shifted, becoming extremely serious.

"Elder Mo, and everyone." Zhou Huai glanced around at the strongmen of the old era on the small boat. "I just received news that Mr. Duan has broken free from the Seal."

"What?!" The Red-haired Strongman gasped, the joy on his face instantly freezing, replaced by unmasked fear.

"He is rushing to this coordinate at an extremely fast speed." Zhou Huai looked at Elder Mo. "This place will soon become a battlefield for Transcendents. I am leaving. Do you… want to come with me?"

"I can tear open the space of the ruins and take you back to the current world."

Hearing the name of Mr. Duan, the atmosphere on the small boat instantly dropped to freezing point.

However, to the surprise of Zhou Huai.

Elder Mo shook his head once more, and this time, his smile carried an extra share of resoluteness.

"Leave? Where to go?"

Elder Mo slowly stood up, looking around the desolate and dead black sea, his tone as calm as still water without a ripple.

"Zhou Huai, look at us people… neither human nor ghost."

"We are people who died long ago. The reason this battered Divine Soul can drag out an ignoble existence until today is entirely supported by the remaining Law of The Seventh World within this ruins."

"Once we leave here and come into contact with the Heavenly Dao System of the current world, we will immediately be reduced to ashes."

Elder Mo turned his head, his deep gaze looking toward the dim distant horizon.

"Furthermore, the Sea God is dead, and the biggest obsession in the heart of this old man has been let go."

"Now, even if that lunatic Mr. Duan really comes, it does not matter anymore."

The Red-haired Strongman also stepped forward, his sole remaining hand tightly gripping the gunwale, and said through gritted teeth, "That is right! We are not going anywhere! This old man has hidden in this pitch-black place for an epoch, and I have had enough!"

"Since that bastard wants to come, then this old man will wait for him right here! Even if it means Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering, I will still knock out a few of his teeth!"

The other old-era strongmen also chimed in one after another, their eyes reigniting with a resolute determination to die.

They knew that facing Mr. Duan was like a praying mantis trying to stop a chariot, but this was already the final dignity they could retain as former top powerhouses.

Zhou Huai looked at this group of old-era veterans who disregarded life and death, unable to help feeling a trace of respect rise in his heart.

He did not try to persuade them further.

In this cruel digitized doomsday, everyone had their own destiny and choice.

Since they decided to coexist and perish with this ruins, the only thing he could do was respect their choice.

"Just right…" Elder Mo narrowed his eyes slightly, a trace of complex light flashing in the depths of his turbid eyes. "This old man still has some words he wants to discuss face-to-face with Mr. Duan."

"Ask him, where on earth did that Mr. Duan who talked all night long by the stove with this old man and planned for the future go."

Hearing this, Zhou Huai said no more.

He took a step back and solemnly cupped his fists toward Elder Mo and everyone on the small boat.

"Everyone, take care."

There was no dragging of feet, no pretentious farewells.

Zhou Huai turned around, the Law of Space within his body instantly surging.

"Victor, open the door."

"As you command, Master."

In the Void Realm ahead, the dark blue spatial vortex exuding the aura of The Seventh World's Origin emerged once again.

Zhou Huai took a step forward, his figure instantly plunging into the vortex.

Following his departure, the vortex twisted violently a few times, then completely closed and turned into nothingness.

The Kaslandis Ruins restored a death-like silence once again.

On the surface of the Dead Sea, the cold wind wailed.

The dilapidated small boat undulated amidst the waves.

Elder Mo stood with his hands behind his back, quietly gazing at the direction where Zhou Huai disappeared, remaining silent for a long time.

"Elder Mo…" The Red-haired Strongman walked up behind him, his voice low, "Can that kid win?"

Elder Mo did not turn his head, only raising his gaze to look at the sky that had begun to crack inch by inch, faintly revealing terrifying black High-Dimensional Law fluctuations.

"Who knows."

A faint smile curved the corner of the mouth of Elder Mo.

"But at least, he let us see a variable completely outside of the script of Mr. Duan."
