Chapter 873: I’m avoiding their sharp edge?

Zhou Huai was rendered speechless.

Bruce Wayne is Gotham City's biggest criminal syndicate?

Reality seemed even more dramatic.

The two of them rode a griffin and traveled high above the city.

The gale howled, and the steel skyscrapers and magical spires below retreated rapidly.

Suddenly, dense sounds of breaking through the air and beast roars came from the sky ahead.

A shadow rushed straight out from the clouds; it was a flying team of more than twenty people, riding sub-dragons and high-tier griffins.

They wore silver-white heavy armor with cross-sun emblems engraved on their chests, rampaging through mid-air.

Wherever they passed, other flying Professionals avoided them in a hurry, terrified of being crushed if they were even a step too slow.

When Eliza saw the incoming people clearly, her face instantly turned pale.

She hurriedly shrank her neck back on the griffin's back, trembling as she whispered a reminder: "Sir… fly lower! Quickly make the griffin descend and let them pass first!"

Sitting in the front and watching the rapidly sweeping team, Zhou Huai's griffin didn't tilt its wings by even a fraction, maintaining a straight flight path.

He remained unmoved and asked in a calm tone: "What kind of people are these? Looking at this posture, they are even more arrogant in Gotham City than that Bruce Wayne."

Seeing that he refused to yield the way, Eliza broke out in a cold sweat from anxiety, gripping her mount's feathers tightly as she lowered her voice to reply hurriedly: "These should all be people from the Holy Knights Order! Look at the golden edges on their heavy armor; they are definitely the main elite stationed in Gotham by the Knights Order!"

"Now that the Holy Lord has fallen, the Holy Knights Order practically walks sideways in the Free Federation, and even the city lords of the major main cities have to cater to their expressions! If we collide with them, we will definitely be executed on the spot as rebels!"

Zhou Huai understood.

No wonder this troop was so unscrupulous; the leading captain even rode a huge two-winged sub-dragon beneath him.

The sub-dragon was covered all over in cyan-brown scales, its mouth spitting out sparks carrying a sulfur scent, emanating the Demonic Beast pressure of over level seventy.

It certainly looked quite bluffing.

But compared to Xiaohei of the Ancestral Dragon Bloodline, the dragons here were worse than crawling bugs.

Not to mention the Abyssal Magic Dragon, even in front of Zhou Huai's Half-step Transcendent Physical Body, this sub-dragon could at most be considered a winged lizard.

The distance between both sides in mid-air shortened rapidly.

Five hundred meters!

Three hundred meters!

The opposing Holy Knights Order obviously also noticed this dark gold griffin that refused to yield.

The knight captain riding the sub-dragon raised his brows vertically, a murderous intent flashing in his eyes.

The sub-dragon let out a roar, attempting to use the superior Demonic Beast's pressure to make Zhou Huai's mount go limp and fall.

However, as the two sides grew closer, Zhou Huai still showed no intention of backing down.

Sitting on the griffin's back, he didn't even lift his eyelids.

Low-profile was low-profile.

He had sneaked into the Free Federation to look for clues about his mother, and didn't want to show off and attract Mr. Duan's attention.

But if any random tom, dick, or harry could make him back away, it would simply be too disgraceful.

If he were forced to yield the way by a group of people whose highest level was at most seventy, he, a Half-step Transcendent, might as well stop mixing in this world.

If the other party didn't proactively look for trouble, he wouldn't kill.

If they dared to flash their weapons, he wouldn't mind turning these twenty-plus elites of the Knights Order into minced meat in the ruins.

The atmosphere instantly became oppressive to the extreme.

Eliza despairingly closed her eyes, her entire body tensing up as she awaited the impending bombardment and collision.

One hundred meters!

Fifty meters!

Just as the two sides were about to collide head-on—

In the pupils of that cyan-brown sub-dragon preparing to ram, Zhou Huai's calm face was reflected.

A mere split-second glance.

There was no leakage of Law, nor any burst of energy.

But the intuition belonging to a Demonic Beast made this level-seventy sub-dragon feel a fatal threat.

The sub-dragon's originally arrogant roar changed pitch in its throat, turning into a fearful mournful cry.

Its massive body slammed on the brakes abruptly in mid-air, ignoring its master's command, as its wings flapped backward frantically, forcibly altering its direction less than ten meters away from Zhou Huai.

The leading sub-dragon suddenly went out of control, dragging the more than twenty knights behind into complete disarray, nearly crashing into a ball in mid-air.

The knight captain stabilized his posture with a face full of shock and doubt, not knowing why his mount suddenly went out of control, feeling only a numbness spreading across his scalp.

The people of the Knights Order didn't look for trouble either; after giving Zhou Huai another couple of looks, they quickly pulled their mounts and flew away into the distance, disappearing deep within the clouds.

The gale subsided.

The anticipated collision did not arrive.

Eliza opened her eyes, looked at the empty sea of clouds around her, and then looked back at the receding figure of the Holy Knights Order, standing there stunned in place.

The most tyrannical Holy Knights Order in the Free Federation actually took the initiative to detour and fly away in front of this man?

Even that arrogant sub-dragon was scared like a stray dog.

Looking at the back of the young man in front of her, Eliza drew a cold breath.

Not even putting the Holy Knights Order in his eyes, just what kind of sacred being was this gentleman?

Just as Eliza was staring blankly at Zhou Huai—

"Hey."

Zhou Huai's calm voice interrupted her train of thought.

"Have you looked enough?"

Without turning his head, Zhou Huai raised a hand to pat the griffin's neck, urging her to point the way.

"Where on earth is your Family's territory? If we keep flying around in circles randomly in the sky, I won't bother with your Family's damn mess anymore."

As if waking from a dream, Eliza quickly collected her mind and pointed in a direction: "It's… it's over there! Sir, fly towards the deepest part of the east!"

"Keep going straight along that main thoroughfare, and you'll arrive after crossing this block!"

The griffin let out a low cry and, under Zhou Huai's control, adjusted its angle, speeding towards the east.

Soon, the griffin crossed half of the urban area.

The skyscrapers gradually thinned out, and the terrain below became undulating.

This was a remote mid-mountain manor, surrounded by private forests and artificial lakes, originally a tranquil place for the powerful and wealthy.

However, at this moment, it was a complete mess here.

From high altitude, traces of battle could be seen everywhere.

Ancient trees were blasted in half by magic, their charred trunks steaming with thick smoke; wrought iron fences were torn apart, and craters and ice spikes pierced the road surface.

Along the lawns and steps, there were still undried bloodstains and a few corpses of guards from the Yalige Family.

Looking at the scene below, Eliza's face turned pale.

She pointed at an ancient castle halfway up the mountain ahead, which was shrouded by a Demonic Energy shield covered in cracks, her voice carrying an urgency as if she were about to cry: "This is the manor where our Yalige Family resides!"

"Looking at the traces of destruction on the ground… Buck's accomplices should still be in the manor!"

Eliza grabbed the corner of Zhou Huai's clothing, her tone filled with entreaty: "Sir! I beg you to save our Yalige Family!"

"Although that traitor Buck was killed by you, the Holy See mercenaries and gang assassins he brought must still be attacking the castle!

My mother, my grandmother are very likely in mortal danger!"

"As long as you can make a move to save them, I promise… I promise that all the collections in the Family treasury, as well as that map of sacred traces you want to investigate, my mother will definitely present them with both hands!"

Hearing this, Zhou Huai tilted his head slightly, giving Eliza an extra glance.

No wonder this girl agreed so readily to bring him back to the Family just now.

It turned out there were still outside thieves at home that hadn't been dealt with.

She looked innocent, but she was also calculating in her heart, wanting to use his hands to quell the crisis at home.

However, Zhou Huai didn't mind.

Since he had come, he might as well see it through to the end.

It was just right to clear away the small fry in the manor so that he could get that map of sacred traces related to his mother's whereabouts and study it properly.

Zhou Huai nodded, his tone remaining calm.

"Rest assured."

He patted the griffin's head.

"Go down."
