Chapter 915: The Next Heavenly Dao

Chapter 915: The Next Heavenly Dao

After hearing Chun's words, Zhou Huai wasn't actually all that surprised.

After all, long ago, his mother had told him the exact same thing extremely clearly in a dream.

His mother had told him back then that she was a fruit borne from the origin sacred tree.

It was just that Zhou Huai never expected the identity contrast to come so quickly and absurdly.

Previously, Mr. Duan called him his good nephew over and over again, and Zhou Huai genuinely thought that old bastard who ruined the first half of his life and forced him to sit in a wheelchair for five years was his biological uncle.

As it turned out after all this fuss, Mr. Duan was actually the second fruit borne by the origin sacred tree.

By seniority, that old bastard wasn't any uncle at all, but his older brother.

This family relationship was simply absurdly messy.

Zhou Huai rhythmically tapped his fingers against the armrest, coldly questioning Chun in his mind: "So what?"

"Since you are the first fruit, Mr. Duan is the second fruit, and I am the third fruit, so what?"

"You dragged out such a huge pile of creation myths with me, flipping through the history of several epochs of the entire Universe, what on earth are you trying to prove?"

Deep within his mind, Chun's voice carried a hint of urgency and helplessness: "Zhou Huai, at this point, do you still not understand?"

"I admit that I did give you a lot of guidance before, even using the form of System missions to guide you here step by step."

"But my purpose was never to harm you. I have only one purpose, and that is to let you replace Duan and become the Heavenly Dao of the next new world."

"As long as you can achieve Fusion with the Origin of the origin sacred tree, you can control the highest authority of the entire Universe, instead of letting that lunatic Mr. Duan get his way."

After hearing this, Zhou Huai couldn't help but scoff.

The laughter sounded exceptionally harsh in the empty underground plaza, making the elites of the Dawnbreaker Guild kneeling immovably on the ground shrink their necks in fear.

"Let me become the Heavenly Dao of the next new world?"

"That sounds so nice, Chun, or rather, the high and mighty Heavenly Dao System."

"However, why should I believe you?"

"You have been plotting against me all along, treating me like a knife in your hand to chop at Mr. Duan, that tough bone."

"Now you are telling me these things, nothing more than seeing that I have shown an uncooperative attitude and fearing that I will let Mr. Duan complete his High-Dimensional divine persona."

Zhou Huai's gaze was icy, and his tone was full of mockery: "You're calculating too cleverly. When Mr. Duan and I fight to the death, exhausting all our trump cards and both suffering heavy losses, you, the so-called Dominator of the First World, will step out and reap the benefits as the fisherman."

"By then, you will take back the Origin on my body, continue to be your eternal Heavenly Dao, and conveniently erase Mr. Duan and me together."

"Do you really take me for a three-year-old child to be fooled?"

In his mind, Chun fell completely silent.

After a few seconds, she let out a heavy sigh.

"Since you distrust me this much, it is useless for me to say more."

"You are entirely welcome to go find your mother; perhaps she will give you the answer you want."

After finishing her last sentence, Chun's will completely severed the connection.

Zhou Huai sat in the chair and pondered for a moment.

Regardless of whether Chun was borrowing a knife to kill someone, or what kind of mess Mr. Duan wanted to turn this world into, one point would absolutely never change.

Since he had already come, his mother had to be saved after all.

This was his most fundamental purpose for coming to the Free Federation and sneaking into the holy city.

Zhou Huai stood up and tidied up the priest robe belonging to Archbishop Andrew on his body.

He didn't even look at the thousands of Dawnbreaker Guild members around him who were still kneeling on the ground in a humiliating posture.

As long as the remaining Alien Parasites were not removed, these S-Rank Experts and SS-Rank Experts, who usually killed without blinking in the real world, could only honestly kneel here and be slaves for a lifetime.

Zhou Huai flicked his wrist and took out the leaf of the origin sacred tree radiating a faint green light from his space ring.

As soon as the leaf appeared in the air, it automatically pointed toward a dark corner deep within the obsidian plaza.

Zhou Huai did not hesitate, walking briskly in the direction guided by the leaf.

Passing through a thick iron door behind the plaza, an extremely concealed, spiraling downward stone staircase appeared before his eyes.

The staircase was bottomless, as if leading straight to the center of the earth.

Perhaps because most of the Professionals and core combat forces of the Dawnbreaker Guild had been concentrated in the obsidian plaza above during the alarm just now, and then wiped out in one go by him using Parasites, this path appeared exceptionally empty and dead silent, without even a patrolling guard.

Zhou Huai walked deep down along the stairs all the way.

The surrounding temperature grew lower and lower, and the air was filled with an ancient Aura, as if this place had broken away from the Law jurisdiction of the real world.

Without any obstruction, Zhou Huai smoothly walked into the deep hall.

After passing through a section of cold and dark corridor, the front suddenly opened up.

Zhou Huai paused his steps, realizing that he had walked out of the artificially carved underground building and entered a Void Realm space.

There were no walls or domes here, and the surroundings were pitch-black where one couldn't see their own fingers.

What he stepped on was not stone bricks, but a mirror-like black Void Realm. Every step he took would ripple with subtle Law ripples.

Zhou Huai lowered his head and looked at the leaf in his hand.

At this moment, the leaf that originally only emitted a weak green light shone brightly, and the inscriptions within the veins crazily circulated as if they had come alive.

Following the strong induction of the leaf, Zhou Huai continued walking forward.

After walking hundreds of meters in the pitch-black void, a light source finally appeared in the endless darkness ahead.

Zhou Huai finally saw the giant tree radiating Holy Light all over its body.

That was not the true body of the origin sacred tree, but merely a branch extending into this dimension.

Yet even so, this branch was still shockingly massive; its trunk required dozens of people to embrace, and its lush branches and leaves stretched out in the black Void Realm. Every leaf dropped wisps of High-Dimensional Law radiance, illuminating the surrounding pitch-black void.

The moment he saw this tree, a natural sense of intimacy surged from deep within Zhou Huai's Bloodline.

He stopped dozens of meters away in front of the giant tree, watching the light and shadow flowing deep within the canopy.

"Mom?"

Zhou Huai softly called out.

The voice echoed in the Void Realm space, traveling very far.

Along with his call, the giant tree emitting Holy Light seemed to sense something.

The massive canopy swayed slightly, and the entire tree emitted a flickering light, as if a consciousness had been awakened by the voice, striving to pierce through the Law barrier and give him a response.

But right at this moment,

"Clap, clap, clap."

A crisp and abrupt sound of applause slowly drifted out from the darkness behind the side of the giant tree.

In the darkness, someone walked slowly over, clapping as they walked.

Subsequently, a familiar middle-aged man's voice, carrying a bit of refinement and banter, came from the shadows.

"Congratulations on the family reunion between mother and son."

Zhou Huai's gaze condensed, and the dark golden battle armor instantly emerged beneath his robe, raising his Aura to its peak.

He narrowed his eyes and looked in the direction from which the voice came.

In the pitch-black void, a middle-aged man wearing a classical top hat and a crisp black formal suit walked over at a leisurely pace.

The man leaned on an exquisite walking stick in his hand, his expression calm and composed, with a faint smile hanging on the corners of his mouth.

Seeing the other person's appearance, Zhou Huai's heart tightened.

Mr. Duan?

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind in an instant, and he thought to himself that the intelligence was wrong.

Shouldn't Mr. Duan be at the ruins of The Eighth World right now?

How could he possibly appear here?

Mr. Duan stopped a dozen meters away from Zhou Huai, seemingly seeing through the doubt in Zhou Huai's heart.

He adjusted the top hat on his head and spoke with a smile.

"You don't need to be surprised. This is a Clone I specially prepared for you to welcome your arrival."

"Previously in Donghai City, I was tricked by your Clone blowing himself up to death."

"Today, I will completely settle you with my Clone."
