Claiming a Mountain as King (3K Second Update)
Bai Cangshu arrived in Teng City, Yunnan, on the evening of the next day. The city was famous for its volcanic hot springs and was also a border city between East Xia and Myanmar.
With a shoulder bag slung over his back, Bai Cangshu spotted the man waiting outside the station.
The man wore a white shirt and held up a sign. Seven or eight people were already standing behind him, likely all "new hires" from this batch.
Bai Cangshu smiled flawlessly and walked over.
The man froze briefly upon seeing Bai Cangshu, then his smile became even brighter.
With looks like that, even as a man, he would surely fetch a good price.
"Hello. I’m David Wu, the HR director in charge of welcoming newcomers here. You can call me Director Wu or Mr. Wu. If you want to be friendly, Brother Wu is fine too."
After everyone introduced themselves, he ushered them onto a coach bus.
Bai Cangshu casually took a seat in the last row, watching the bus leave the relatively bustling area near the station. His smile remained unchanged.
The man calling himself Director Wu sat beside Bai Cangshu. Noticing that some people in the bus were uneasy, he reassured them.
"Don’t worry, everyone. Teng City is very safe. I’ll take you to a hotel under the group’s name first. Get a good night’s rest, and tomorrow I’ll take you through the onboarding procedures."
Hearing that they would be staying in a hotel, the group grew more animated.
Bai Cangshu merely smiled indifferently. In the Transparent World state, the weakness of these people could not have been clearer.
Perhaps he could kill everyone on this bus in less than ten seconds.
Director Wu suddenly felt a chill for no reason.
The coach soon reached the hotel, but instead of stopping aboveground, it drove straight into the underground parking garage.
The pitch-black, cramped surroundings made everyone nervous again.
Director Wu smiled. These people were simply far too easy to fool.
"What’s going on? There’s no signal on my phone?"
Someone cried out.
Director Wu could barely hide his smile.
"Maybe those Fruit phones don’t get good reception underground."
Soon, the vehicle came to a stop. The doors opened, revealing a large group of people waiting outside.
"Get the hell down!"
The shouted order, brimming with undisguised malice, left the men and women who had lived in peaceful surroundings unable to react.
Before long, a burly man carrying a knife stepped onto the bus and waved the machete in his hand.
"Are you all deaf?!"
"I said, get off!"
At that moment, everyone understood what was happening. Some wailed, while others tried to call for help.
The ones who wailed were quickly slapped to the floor, while the ones making calls had their arms slashed open.
Seeing that the chaos inside the bus would not settle anytime soon, Bai Cangshu shoved aside the crying woman in front of him and got off first.
Even Director Wu found that surprising.
"You aren’t scared?"
Bai Cangshu could not be bothered to answer. He merely said calmly, "The outcome is already decided. Would being scared help?"
It took the thugs roughly ten minutes to beat everyone on the bus into submission before loading them into several battered vans.
Bai Cangshu was blindfolded and seated in the back of a van. After hearing the engine start, he estimated that they drove for half an hour. By the time night fell, the group had been brought to the edge of a dense forest.
A border fence made of wire mesh stood within the woods.
Threatened by the thugs’ knives, they obediently crawled through holes that had been cut into the wire fence beforehand, just like that "leaving the country."
Bai Cangshu stretched lazily and was kicked by Director Wu.
"Who are you putting on an act for? Once we get there, you’ll be in for it."
Several men who had been waiting there quickly transferred them into another vehicle. After another two-hour drive, they finally reached their destination.
Looking at the compound surrounded by tall white walls, Bai Cangshu knew this was probably the group’s "company."
He got out with Director Wu.
Beep, beep~
At that moment, a phone rang inside the Backpack on Director Wu’s back.
Bai Cangshu’s ear twitched, and he held out his hand.
"Director Wu, my phone is ringing. Give it to me."
Director Wu looked at this handsome young man, who seemed to be somewhat lacking in the brains department, and nearly laughed.
"You’re still pretending? There are so many phones here, and you somehow know yours is the one ringing?"
Bai Cangshu could not be bothered to explain and simply kept his hand outstretched.
Director Wu grew angry. He had not seen even the slightest trace of fear or respect for himself in Bai Cangshu’s eyes.
So he raised his foot and stomped down on Bai Cangshu’s knee.
Crack!
Bai Cangshu remained calm and did not move, but Director Wu, whose foot was planted on Bai Cangshu’s knee, suddenly felt a sharp pain in his ankle.
"Ah!"
Clutching his ankle, he fell to the ground and groaned in agony.
Bai Cangshu crouched down and opened the bag. Sure enough, it was his own phone ringing.
Seeing the terrified looks everyone else gave him, he suddenly kicked backward.
Bang!
A thug in a red floral shirt was holding a club, about to teach Bai Cangshu a lesson from behind, when Bai Cangshu’s kick struck him in the stomach.
In an instant, everything before his eyes seemed to shrink rapidly away. As a violent impact struck his back, his consciousness plunged into darkness.
"Hello, Teacher Zhang?"
Bang!
Bai Cangshu sent another man flying with a kick, yet his tone remained utterly calm.
"I’m fine, Teacher Zhang. I’ve arrived at the company safely. Heh, heh. My colleagues are all very nice and welcoming…"
Looking at the groaning Director Wu, Bai Cangshu stomped down. Amid a bone-chilling crack, Director Wu’s jaw was completely shattered, leaving him able to make only muffled whimpering sounds.
"Alright, Teacher Zhang. I’ll contact you once I’m settled in. Bye."
The people captured alongside Bai Cangshu now looked at him as though they had seen a ghost. They could not imagine that among the same group of people who had been scammed here, there was someone like him.
More importantly, how could someone like this have been tricked into coming here? And why had he not resisted the entire way?
At last, the compound gates opened. A long-haired man in a yellow shirt emerged under the escort of several men in green military uniforms.
He threw the half-eaten apple from his mouth onto the ground, drew a pistol, and fired into the sky.
Bang!
The deafening shot silenced the area once again.
"You think having a little fighting skill means you can run wild in my territory? Are you still half asleep?!"
"Huh?!"
The man had not expected that bringing back a few pigs would result in several of his men being crippled. Rage flared within him. None of the new arrivals were particularly attractive women, but the young man who could fight was strikingly handsome.
He waved at the uniformed men behind him and said in Burmese, "Break that guy’s arms and legs. Don’t kill him. Leave him for me."
Then he turned and walked away.
Bai Cangshu no longer wasted time.
He walked directly toward the man who was obviously the leader.
The uniformed men holding AKs instantly pulled the bolts and raised their rifles at Bai Cangshu.
The intimidation of firearms far surpassed anything ordinary. Those who had just begun to feel a glimmer of hope cried out again and crouched down, clutching their heads.
Bai Cangshu suddenly stomped heavily.
Boom!
The ground shook violently, and Bai Cangshu vanished in an instant.
The uniformed men instinctively aimed around them, only to find no trace of him. Just as they were about to turn around, an overwhelming force struck.
Splat!
Bai Cangshu threw a punch. One uniformed man’s neck snapped instantly, his cervical vertebrae protruding nearly ten centimeters from the front of his neck.
The others cried out. Only then did they notice their companion had been killed. Bai Cangshu grabbed the still-twitching corpse and hurled it violently.
Boom!
The corpse of an adult man weighing over one hundred and twenty pounds actually tore through the air with a whistling roar.
Bang!
Several uniformed men were instantly smashed to the ground.
Moving like a ghost, Bai Cangshu closed in. Hearing the commotion behind him, the long-haired man turned around and saw only a bloodstained face appear at his back.
His pupils contracted. He instinctively raised his pistol, but a hand instantly seized his wrist.
Creak, creak…
That terrifying strength increased bit by bit.
"Ah!"
He screamed in agony. With a crack, his wrist was completely crushed, bone fragments piercing deep into his muscles and blood vessels.
With a smile on his face, Bai Cangshu ignored everyone else. Carrying the man as easily as a chick, he walked into the compound.
"Quickly introduce this place to me. What facilities and personnel does my compound have?"
Bai Cangshu looked around as though inspecting his own territory.
As a Sin Karma Reincarnator, Bai Cangshu knew that he would inevitably face battles against many Reincarnators.
Remaining in Binhai would allow him to use the authorities’ power to deter some enemies.
But deep down, Bai Cangshu also craved slaughter and destruction.
That was why he had deliberately thrown himself into the path of a highly dangerous border company. As expected, he had been trafficked into Myanmar. From then on, at least on an official level, Bai Cangshu’s trail began to disappear.
The last trace of him would only show that he had gone to that hotel.
Bai Cangshu looked up at the sky above the compound. The sky was high, the clouds thin and pale.
The long-haired man was named Lin Qinfu. He was also an East Xia Person, but he had developed his career in Northern Myanmar for years and had never cared about any sense of kinship with his fellow countrymen.
People like him were the most ruthless when exploiting and deceiving their own compatriots.
Lin Qinfu clutched his wrist and continued howling.
"Do you know who’s behind me?!"
Slap!
Bai Cangshu controlled his strength. The slap only knocked all of Lin Qinfu’s teeth out instead of shattering his head.
"That isn’t the answer I want."
Lin Qinfu’s ears rang. He wanted to name the powerful figure backing him, but when he saw the exaggerated bloodstains across the compound grounds and on the distant walls—
The Northern Myanmar soldiers in his compound seemed to have been beaten to death by brute force.
His heart shuddered. He no longer dared resist and lowered his head.
"Besides the department running telecom scams, the compound has a flesh workshop and a distillery. We handle trade with the people in the mountains to the south…"
He began telling the handsome man before him every detail about the compound and the connections behind it.
He was afraid. Lin Qinfu had accidentally met the man’s eyes just now, and the smile in them had not been fake in the slightest.
That expression sent an inexplicable chill through him.
He had killed people and committed many evil deeds. He had also seen the utterly vicious people in Northern Myanmar who took pleasure in murder.
But the man before him possessed a calm indifference toward human life that still terrified him.
He did not take pleasure in killing. Perhaps killing had already ceased to bring him any pleasure…
"The boss I serve is Grandpa Mo from the South District. He’s a ruthless man. They say he seized his territory from a group of drug dealers all by himself. He’ll definitely hear about what you did today soon enough."
"I lost my territory, and you took his things. He won’t let you go…"
Bai Cangshu became interested upon hearing that.
"Tell me in detail. What are Grandpa Mo’s characteristics? Is he a good fighter?"
Bai Cangshu had heard in the space that quite a few Reincarnators had set their sights on the chaotic Golden Triangle region, claiming mountains and ruling there as kings.
He had a feeling that he had come to the right place.
