Destruction, Constraints
Hela raised the Night Sky Sword to block King’s Glory. The shockwaves on it were all neutralized by Death Power. Then she said, "I was just about to see what gives you the right to be my senior sister."
"Because I’m Skye."
Skye raised her left hand and gave it a shake. Layer upon layer of space surged toward Hela. Hela spun aside to evade the spatial waves, then swept her sword, sending over a hundred Night Sky Swords flying at Skye simultaneously.
Skye swiftly swung King’s Glory. Space shook violently, and the Night Sky Swords were either shattered or knocked off course.
Immediately after, Skye stomped her left foot hard on the ground. Countless spikes erupted from the earth and swept toward Hela like a tide.
Hela did not leap into the air as Skye had hoped. She kicked with her left foot, and Death Power surged forth, reducing every spike to ash.
That was not the end of it. The remaining Death Power transformed into Death Chains that locked onto Skye from every direction.
Skye shook space and shattered all the Death Chains. The remaining spatial waves spread to the walls, instantly breaking them into chunks of stone. Then, with a tremendous crash, the palace collapsed.
Seeing this, Hela and Skye flew into the sky at the same time. The two women then swung their swords and fiercely clashed in midair.
At first, Skye could still withstand Hela’s attacks, but after more than a dozen exchanges, she began to fall behind and was beaten into a purely defensive position.
Hela sneered. "Senior sister, you’re so weak. I haven’t even used thirty percent of my strength."
Skye’s expression darkened. Compared to Hela, she was still far too young. Whether in strength or combat skill, she was inferior to her opponent.
"Your senior sister will always be your senior sister."
Skye snorted and forced Hela back with one slash. Then she shouted, and the phantom image of the Dragon World suddenly appeared behind her. Dragon Power flooded wildly into her body, and her aura surged like a rocket. Even her hair whipped fiercely through the air.
"Even if you borrow external power, you’re still no match for me."
Hela smiled disdainfully and raised her sword high. The next moment, densely packed Night Sky Swords appeared across the sky. A rough count put them at tens of thousands, nearly covering the entire heavens.
Then Hela swung her sword, and the Night Sky Swords descended upon Skye like a torrential rain of blades. Every warship in their path was pierced through by the swords and exploded with a thunderous boom.
That included the flagship carrying the Third Prince. As he stared at the surging flames rushing toward him, his heart filled with despair—he had never imagined he would die here. Everything had been going so smoothly before; even the Inhuman Queen had favored him.
The next moment, the Third Prince was engulfed in blazing fire and died miserably on the spot.
"The Goddess of Death is truly too powerful."
The Zerg commander stared at the sword rain below and could not help swallowing. He loudly ordered, "Prepare for a planetary landing. This planet will soon belong to us."
"Yes, Commander."
The Zerg answered excitedly, wishing they could immediately rush into Krylar and slaughter everyone. For ordinary Zerg, there were only three things in life: killing, feeding, and breeding.
Putting the Zerg aside for the moment, Skye’s eyes flashed with gravity at the sight of the sword rain filling the sky. She took a deep breath, synchronizing her breathing with the planet’s own.
Then Skye forcefully thrust her right hand forward. The entire sky shook violently at once, and countless pitch-black spatial rifts appeared, shredding the Night Sky Swords throughout the heavens.
In less than ten seconds, all the tens of thousands of Night Sky Swords turned into specks of light and vanished.
At the same time, the warships in the sky were completely swept away. The lucky ones left behind a few fragments; the unlucky ones did not even leave fragments behind.
The Zerg commander was dumbfounded and hurriedly ordered the army to halt its landing. Hela’s opponent seemed far from simple.
It was worth mentioning that the Inhuman Kingdom’s Blood God was not here. Upon receiving Skye’s order, they had immediately used their teleportation ability to flee Krylar.
"Interesting. It seems I’ll have to show some real skill."
Hela was somewhat surprised. She raised the Night Sky Sword, and Death Power quickly permeated the void, turning the entire sky dark.
"Junior sister, I have another title: Planet Destroyer."
Skye looked at Hela and mobilized the vibrational power of the entire planet. Then she swung her sword with all her might, and nine enormous spatial rifts spread toward Hela like black dragons.
"So what? It’s only a planet. It’s not as if I’ve never destroyed one before."
Hela snorted coldly as Black Light blazed from her body. Then she swung the Night Sky Sword forcefully, drawing in the surrounding void and turning it into an enormous sword of death that slashed at the nine spatial rifts.
The next moment, space shattered, and everything around them turned pitch-black. The city below was swept over by a Space Storm and vanished completely, leaving behind only a vast, uneven crater.
"She truly is worthy of being the Goddess of Death. So powerful."
Skye’s expression was exceedingly grave. She shouted, and the entire planet began to shake violently. Then all the vibrational power gathered around her.
"What a senior sister. I really underestimated you."
Hela’s expression turned serious. With a swish, a pair of black Wings of Death appeared behind her. The wings rapidly expanded, blotting out the sky and sun as if they would cover the entire planet.
Wherever the Wings of Death passed, not only did all the Kree die, but even the flowers, grass, trees, birds, and beasts lost their vitality.
Wisps of Black Qi rose from every dead living thing. That was Death Power.
All that Death Power gathered upon the Wings of Death, making them increasingly black. It was as though countless lives were wailing and crying atop them, a sight that sent chills down one’s spine.
Skye had the planet’s vibrational power, but Hela likewise had the planet’s death power.
Just then, Skye, who had looked as though she were preparing for a final battle, suddenly vanished. Only her laughter remained. "Junior sister, let me teach you something. Preparing a big move doesn’t necessarily mean preparing for a decisive battle. It can also mean preparing to run away. Bye-bye."
Hela flew into a rage and was about to pursue Skye when the vibrational power Skye had gathered earlier suddenly erupted, transforming into layer after layer of vibrational storms that swept toward Hela.
Without Skye controlling it, the vibrational storm’s power was greatly reduced, but it was enough to hold Hela back for a moment. Taking advantage of that time, Skye fled back to the Blood God and quickly escaped.
If she did not run now, she would really be done for.
"Damn it, how cunning."
Hela cleaved apart the vibrational storm and cursed loudly, "And you call yourself a queen?"
The Zerg commander asked, "Hela, should we send warships to hunt them down?"
"No. Send the Zerg army to land on the planet and kill all life."
Hela withdrew the Wings of Death and asked coldly, "How are things on the other planets?"
Hela’s target was not merely Krylar. Several nearby life-bearing planets were also targets. In any case, the Zerg had no shortage of troops.
"The situation is excellent. Those useless defenders cannot stop us at all."
The Zerg commander said excitedly, "Before long, those planets will become cafeterias for our Zerg."
"Very good. We will begin here and sweep through the Kree Empire, destroying all life."
Hela nodded in satisfaction. "Only then can the universe regain its balance."
"Everything is for Universe Balance."
The Zerg commander grinned savagely and shouted, "Land on the planet! Devour all life, then breed more of our kin."
Following the Zerg commander’s order, a dense swarm of Zerg soldiers flew from the warships and pounced excitedly toward Krylar.
Resources in Negative Space were scarce. Opportunities to feast like this did not come often.
Several hours later, Krylar became a dead planet—a dead planet with no surviving intelligent life and drastically diminished plant and animal life.
Thus, the Cosmic Zerg Disaster officially began.
On the Blood God, Skye let out a weary breath. The eyeless Inhuman Gordon asked with concern, "Skye, are you all right?"
"I’m fine. Sigh, my heart still isn’t ruthless enough."
Skye shook her head. The reason she had chosen to flee was, on one hand, because she knew she could not defeat Hela. On the other hand, she had not dared to destroy Krylar—there were countless lives on the planet, and she could not cross that line.
Gordon asked, "Who exactly was that woman? And where did those Zerg come from?"
"They are Death’s people."
Skye ordered, "Inform the other factions about what just happened. Tell them that a second Thanos has appeared."
Gordon was shocked. "A second Thanos?"
"Yes. Worse still, she is more ruthless than Thanos. Thanos killed half and left half alive, while she will destroy entire planets."
Skye shook her head and said, "Also, notify the Skrull Empire and the Shi’ar Empire. This concerns the Entire Universe. No one can stay out of it."
Gordon nodded. "All right."
After Gordon left, Skye took out her communicator and contacted Wang Bert. She first gave him a detailed account of what had just happened, then sighed. "Master, Junior Sister Hela has become a second Thanos."
"It was expected. The Zerg?"
Wang Bert narrowed his eyes slightly and said to Skye, "Protect yourself. If anything unexpected happens, immediately use the portal to return to Earth."
There was a portal in the Inhuman Kingdom that Wang Bert had given Skye previously.
"Unless it’s absolutely necessary, I don’t want to abandon the Inhuman Kingdom."
Skye said, "Master, can you help me preserve the Inhuman Kingdom?"
"I will definitely help you. Not only me—the other empires will support you as well. This is a universal war."
Wang Bert said, "Make preparations first. I will send people over to help as soon as possible."
"That’s good. Thank you, Master."
Skye let out a sigh of relief. The Inhuman Kingdom was the fruit of her labor, and she did not want to abandon it at all.
After ending the call, Wang Bert raised his left hand, and the Reality Stone emerged from his palm. "The Zerg? Reality Stone, give me information on the Zerg."
The Reality Stone emitted a red glow, and a vast amount of information related to the Zerg flooded into Wang Bert’s mind. "The Arthrosians originate from Negative Space and are an extremely powerful Zerg civilization. Their leader is Annihilus, who possesses Ancient God-level strength in Negative Space.
"The Arthrosians have always lived in Negative Space. They are deeply dissatisfied with the universe’s expansion because it affects Negative Space.
"For the safety of Negative Space and to obtain vast amounts of food, the Arthrosians have always wanted to enter the Main Universe, but they had never succeeded.
"One month ago, Death sent Hela into Negative Space. Hela reached an agreement with Annihilus to cleanse the universe of life together and maintain Universe Balance.
"Afterward, Death opened a Space Channel, and the Arthrosians officially entered the Main Universe they had long dreamed of."
"The Arthrosians? Should I just take action and wipe them out?"
Wang Bert muttered to himself. Just then, a voice sounded beside him. "No. If you take action, you will be punished."
Wang Bert turned his head and saw Death standing beside him in a black robe. He said irritably, "Could you knock first? Also, do you know that casually entering a single man’s bedroom is dangerous?"
"You count as single?"
Death mocked. She sat across from Wang Bert, crossed her legs, and said, "You are somewhat different from that avatar of yours."
Wang Bert said, "He’s a wife slave. I’m not. And by the way, if you want to do something to me, I won’t resist. But you can only have my body, not my heart."
Death looked at him with contempt. "I have no interest in you at all. Your avatar, on the other hand, is someone I’d very much like to seduce."
"I never expected the mighty Death to be so shallow."
Wang Bert shook his head theatrically and asked, "Death, why can’t I take action?"
"Because half a month ago, the Living Tribunal officially classified you as Creator God-level."
Death said, "Since you are a Creator God, you naturally must abide by the rules of us Creator Gods."
"I’m still some distance from becoming a Creator God. I don’t count as a true Creator God."
Wang Bert shook his head. He had a very clear understanding of his own strength. At present, he was still no match for a Creator God.
"But your destructive power has already reached Creator God level. You even subdued Hell."
Death explained in detail, "For the safety of the universe, the Living Tribunal and us Five Creator Gods have always restrained beings above the Ancient God level. To the universe, Ancient Gods are simply too dangerous. One careless mistake could cause irreparable losses.
"Originally, you would have been restrained the moment you broke through to the Ancient God level. But you are human, not a god, so we never took action against you.
"Until this time, the Living Tribunal felt it could no longer continue to let you do as you pleased. So it asked me to give you two choices."
Wang Bert asked, "What two choices?"
"One, you can leave the Main Universe like the other Ancient Gods and become a petty emperor in an outer dimension."
Death said, "The other is to abide by the Creator Gods’ rules and not act casually unless someone attacks you."
"I choose the second, but I have two conditions."
"You actually agreed? I thought that with your personality, you would challenge the Living Tribunal."
Death said with disappointment, "Thinking about that possibility made me so sad I couldn’t sleep."
"You were too happy to sleep, weren’t you?"
Wang Bert rolled his eyes and said, "Ancient Gods are so powerful that they naturally need restraints. Otherwise, wouldn’t the universe become their playground?
"Besides, if beings above the Ancient God level had no restraints, you would have slapped me to death long ago. Since I enjoyed the rights before, I naturally have to bear the corresponding obligations now."
"As expected of a protector. Your awareness is admirable."
Death smiled. "This world needs restraints, just as it needs balance."
"Simply put, everyone eats from the same pot, so we must make sure that pot remains intact."
"Though it’s a bit crude, that’s roughly the idea."
Death smiled and said, "What are your demands? Go ahead."
"My first condition is that I am Earth’s protector. If Earth is attacked, I have the right to retaliate."
Death nodded. "No problem, but only for Earth. It does not include other factions, such as the Inhuman Kingdom."
