Did You Bring the Enemy Here?

"So selling this orb would be enough to get us the money?"

Drax considered Star-Lord’s words before speaking.

"Big guy, what are you thinking?"

"The money from selling the Universal Orb will definitely be split among all of us."

"You’d get eight hundred million at most."

"Wouldn’t it be better to take that much money and find any planet to enjoy yourself on?"

Hearing Drax’s words, Rocket widened his eyes. Drax was clearly planning to take Rocket’s share too.

Star-Lord’s bounty was only four hundred thousand. To make eight hundred million, they would need to catch two thousand Star-Lords.

"No, I have to kill Ronan."

Drax shook his head and spoke.

"Do you know what kind of lunatic Ronan is? How could you possibly do it alone…"

Seeing Drax’s stubborn, foolish determination, Rocket wanted to explain the situation to him properly.

"All right, all right. Once you get the money, you can do whatever you want."

"The urgent matter now is to bring the Universal Orb to the buyer Gamora mentioned."

"Once we get the money, we split it up and go our separate ways."

Star-Lord knew that if Rocket kept talking, they would start arguing, so he directly cut him off.

After Star-Lord said that, everyone inside the cabin quieted down considerably.

The group piloted the advanced cosmic starship they had stolen from the Nova Corps, passing through space wormholes as they quickly headed for Knowhere.

After all that trouble, they successfully met the Collector.

Every one of them was practically impatient to get the money from the Collector and part ways immediately.

However, the Collector’s explanation made them understand what exactly was inside the Universal Orb.

One of the servants the Collector had bought directly grabbed the Power Stone, and his body exploded because he could not withstand it.

After a bout of chaos, Star-Lord recovered the Universal Orb.

"This is what Thanos wants. We absolutely cannot sell it to the Collector."

"The Collector may have plenty of money and can hire people to protect himself, but he is no match for Thanos."

After learning that it was the Power Stone, Gamora spoke.

"But if we don’t sell it, we can’t keep it safe either."

Star-Lord also understood how terrifying the Power Stone was. It might be worth a fortune, but they absolutely could not let it fall into the hands of vicious people like the madman Ronan or the world-ending tyrant Thanos.

"Please, just hand it over to Ronan. This thing is too dangerous."

Rocket might have been greedy for money, but he knew this thing could easily bring unimaginable destruction and was extremely dangerous.

"Give it to Ronan so he can destroy the Milky Way Galaxy?"

Star-Lord said in disbelief.

"Please, when did you become such a saint? Why do you want to save the Milky Way Galaxy? Has the Milky Way Galaxy ever treated you well?"

Rocket shouted back.

Right now, he only wanted to get rid of the enormous headache that was the Power Stone.

"Because I’m one of the people living in it!"

Star-Lord also raised his voice, trying to persuade Rocket.

Although Star-Lord had been taken into space as a child, he would never forget that Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy was his hometown.

"You need the strength to protect it…"

Rocket was furious at Star-Lord’s words.

The few of them were nothing before Ronan the Accuser. What right did they have to talk about protecting the Milky Way Galaxy?

"Peter, calm down. We cannot let the stone fall into Ronan’s hands."

"We need to hurry back to your ship and deliver it to the Nova Corps."

At that moment, Gamora stepped between them, stopped their argument, and looked at Star-Lord as she spoke.

"Yes, you’re right. Let’s get back to the ship first and discuss what to do."

"Or we could hand it to someone who won’t arrest us and has the strength to deal with Ronan the Accuser and Thanos, while we still get a huge sum of money."

Seeing Gamora’s tense expression, Star-Lord calmed down somewhat and spoke.

"The Void Cult?"

Gamora and Rocket’s expressions both changed when they heard "someone who won’t arrest us" and "has the strength," and they spoke in unison.

Gamora did not really believe that all Void Cult members were powerful, since strength was not something that could be gained overnight.

However, she had certainly heard of God of the Void Kassadin.

"If we deliver it ourselves, we should be able to get a considerable reward."

"I don’t know if you’ve heard of Void Pioneer Tony Stark."

"It doesn’t matter if you haven’t. The technology he invented sells well on every planet. Put simply, the Void Cult is very rich now as well."

"If we go there without hostile intentions and offer to sell this thing, we probably won’t encounter any danger."

Star-Lord nodded at this and spoke.

"You’re so pathetic. Shouldn’t this be handed over to the Nova Corps?"

"Although those people at Kyln Prison from the Nova Corps are extremely annoying, most Nova Corps officers are still very dedicated."

"Handing it to the Void Cult, whose background we know nothing about, might bring an even more terrifying disaster than Ronan."

Gamora said disappointedly after hearing Star-Lord’s words.

Even though it was not exactly appropriate for her to say that as a prisoner who had just escaped from Kyln Prison.

Still, even when the Nova Corps captured them, they had not killed them. They had merely planned to lock them up for a few years.

Moreover, the Nova Corps’ protection of various planets was well known.

So Gamora believed there would be no problem handing the Power Stone over to the Nova Corps.

"I know, but although Xandar looks like it belongs to the Nova Corps now, it is actually already the Void Cult’s territory."

"If we give it to the Nova Corps, we’ll get a small reward at most, and in the end it will still go straight into the Void Cult’s hands."

"Since it will end up with the Void Cult no matter what, we might as well deliver it directly to them and get a larger reward."

Star-Lord spoke.

"Forget it. No matter what, let’s get back to the ship first and discuss it slowly."

Gamora spoke after hearing Star-Lord’s words.

"As long as I get money, I don’t care."

Seeing Star-Lord and Gamora both say that, Rocket simply could not be bothered to care anymore.

"All right, let’s go."

Gamora spoke.

However, just as the three of them agreed to deliver the Power Stone to the Void Cult for safekeeping, a Cosmic Battleship and a large number of space fighters descended from the sky.

"We’re finished!"

"Ronan the Accuser is here."

Seeing so many ships, as well as the markings and designs on those warships, Gamora’s expression changed drastically.

"He’s finally here. I will destroy my enemy and kill him!"

Drax had not participated in the discussion about where the Power Stone should go. All he wanted was to kill Ronan.

"Did you call Ronan here?"

Star-Lord looked at Drax, who held a sword in each hand, had already assumed a fighting stance, and was unusually excited and crazed. He spoke in disbelief.

"Quill, don’t move!"

At that moment, Yondu had also arrived at Knowhere. Seeing his adopted son Star-Lord, he shouted.

Ronan the Accuser had already arrived. Even Yondu could not possibly deal with Ronan the Accuser.

So the best option was to hand over the Universal Orb and preserve Star-Lord’s life.

But it would have been better if Yondu had kept quiet. The moment he spoke, Star-Lord discovered that Yondu was here too and immediately began to run.

"Don’t move, you idiot!"

Seeing Star-Lord ignore him and run the moment he saw him, Yondu was furious.

Star-Lord, Gamora, and Rocket fled in desperation, immediately hijacking several escape pods and taking off.

Seeing Star-Lord board an escape pod, Yondu immediately ordered his men back to their warship.

He knew that if he wanted to save that idiot Star-Lord, they had to get into the vacuum of space. If they fought Ronan the Accuser on the ground, they had no chance of winning.

Destroyer Drax was also fighting Ronan the Accuser, and his battle delayed Ronan the Accuser’s movements.

This kept Ronan from noticing Star-Lord, Rocket, and the others.

Gamora piloted the escape pod through the air, constantly weaving about as she tried to escape. She knew they would only have a chance of survival if they returned to the warship.

She had never imagined that Drax, that idiot, would actually call Ronan here, putting them far too close to Ronan this time.

But how could a temporarily stolen escape pod possibly outrun a space fighter?

Thus, just after Gamora left Knowhere and entered space, the escape pod was smashed apart by a space fighter piloted by her sister Nebula. The Universal Orb and the Power Stone fell into Nebula’s hands.

Nebula glanced at her sister Gamora. Having achieved her goal and believing Gamora was already dead, she directly flew away in her space fighter.

And after Nebula and the other Kree left.

Star-Lord had not spent much time with Gamora, so he did not have particularly deep feelings for her. Still, they had been imprisoned together and escaped together.

If possible, he still wanted to save Gamora.

He knew Yondu was nearby and would definitely not let him die, so he directly left the escape pod, gave his equipment to Gamora, and held onto her.

And just as Star-Lord had expected, after Nebula left, Yondu, who had long been waiting in the shadows, appeared and directly saved Star-Lord.

Seeing Star-Lord and Gamora successfully rescued, Rocket finally relaxed and piloted the escape pod back to the ground to reunite with Groot.

But when Rocket saw that Drax had not died either, his eyes filled with surprise before he quickly began complaining.

If Drax had not brought Ronan here, then no matter how dissatisfied they were with the distribution of the Universal Orb and no matter how much they argued.

At most, there would have been some verbal conflict. They would not have faced that dangerous situation just now, where they could have been wiped out at any moment.

If he did not give Drax a proper scolding, Rocket would never vent the anger in his heart.
