Star-Lord Escapes Prison
Harvey had already been on Xandar for several years, and he would not easily interfere with the situation on Xandar.
The Nova Corps had already more or less brought Xandar under control.
However, this time, Ronan the Accuser had come carrying the Power Stone, so he still had to make a move.
Snatching it from Ronan’s hands and snatching it from the Nova Corps on Xandar were entirely different matters.
Although there had not been much description of Xandar in his previous life, Thanos had nearly wiped out the Nova Corps that safeguarded the Power Stone, and Xandar had directly lost half its population.
Most of Xandar’s people had gone to other planets, but there were still several billion people on the planet itself.
Harvey still admired Thanos for his far-sighted ideals and strength in seeking to balance the universe’s resources.
However, it could not be denied that Thanos had caused countless casualties to realize his ideals. He was a true villain.
When Sonia heard that Lord Kassadin had approved Renoli and the Precognitor’s actions, she did not send a message forbidding them from leaving the island.
"You don’t need to worry either. Xandar may be the Nova Corps’ territory, but it is also the Void Cult’s territory."
"If the Nova Corps can handle something, it is not our place to intervene."
"However, if some unforeseen change arises that even the Nova Corps cannot withstand, then even if I forbid it, the other Void Cult members will still act."
"Strictly prohibiting others from acting or controlling their will is not my style."
"So, we will still help when help is needed."
Seeing that Sonia seemed pleased he had not forbidden it, with the look of someone letting out a sigh of relief, Harvey spoke.
"Mm, I understand."
Sonia smiled and nodded at his words.
"Now, we just watch."
Seeing that Sonia was no longer worried, Harvey turned his gaze toward the sky outside the window, already shrouded in a beautiful night.
Only a few hours after Star-Lord had been thrown into Kyln Prison, he and the others escaped in the middle of the night.
Dam was stunned when he received the news. Those guys had actually managed to break out of prison. The people at Kyln Prison were useless fools who did nothing but eat.
However, since the news about Star-Lord needed to be passed on to Miss Sonia, and it was currently the middle of the night,
Dam decided it would be better to simply send a message, so as not to disturb Miss Sonia’s beauty sleep.
Early the next morning, around six o’clock, Sonia got up and began washing up.
Not long after waking, Sonia opened her Universal Communicator and received a message from Dam.
"They escaped Kyln Prison just a few hours after getting in? It seems they really do have some skills."
After reading the full report, Sonia fell into thought.
This should all have been within Lord Kassadin’s expectations. Yet even after they escaped, Lord Kassadin did not seem to have taken action. It appeared that the time was not right yet.
Sonia replied to Dam: "Dam, you don’t need to worry about this Star-Lord. Everything is under Lord Kassadin’s control."
Dam and several of his brothers were currently spending the night hunting down prisoners who had escaped from Kyln Prison.
When he received the message and saw that Lord Kassadin was also aware of it, the worry hanging over his heart finally eased.
A spaceship sped toward Knowhere.
"After this job, I’m retiring. Damn it, I nearly left my life behind on Xandar."
Star-Lord spoke up directly.
"You’re still so young, and you already want to retire? Have you got no ambition?"
Rocket Raccoon said upon hearing Star-Lord’s words.
"You’re not an Interstellar Raider, so of course you’re not afraid. You have no idea what it’s like being a member of the Interstellar Raiders."
"You have to be incredibly careful when going to Xandar. It can practically be called the Bounty Hunters’ headquarters now."
"All those Void Cult people are there."
Star-Lord clutched his chest as he spoke after hearing Rocket’s words.
"Those people are rumored to be quite formidable, but in reality, they probably aren’t much."
Gamora spoke up.
"Long hair, short sight. One look tells me you don’t understand the bounty-hunting world or the raider organizations."
"If you had seen with your own eyes how they carried out missions, you would know just how terrifying they truly are."
"Luckily, the Nova Corps caught us, and we didn’t run into any Void Cult members. Otherwise, we wouldn’t even know how we died."
Star-Lord said after hearing Gamora’s words.
He had originally followed Yondu, and his life in the universe could be said to have been quite prosperous.
But ever since God of the Void Kassadin appeared and established the Void Cult, the Interstellar Raiders’ range of activity had shrunk drastically.
Star-Lord was the sort who was highly skilled and bold, but after seeing with his own eyes those Void Cult people who could fly through the skies and vanish into the earth,
he knew those people were simply not opponents they could deal with.
This time, he had taken the Universal Orb to Xandar because he wanted to sound things out, grab the money, and leave immediately.
Instead, he ran into Gamora and Rocket, and the two of them started fighting without a word.
"Can they beat Ronan?"
Destroyer Drax had also heard of the Void Cult for the first time after listening to Star-Lord, and he asked.
"I’ve talked about these things with Yondu."
"According to Yondu, the Void Cult’s leader, God of the Void Kassadin, stands on equal footing with the legendary God King Odin."
"The only difference is that God of the Void Kassadin keeps a lower profile and does not command a massive force."
"If he took action, the Kree Empire would be completely wiped out."
"After all, God King Odin also possesses the power to directly destroy the Kree Empire."
"Those of us in the Interstellar Raiders need to know who we can provoke and who we cannot."
"You can ask me to provoke Ronan, but asking me to provoke the Void Cult is absolutely impossible."
Star-Lord said with extreme seriousness.
"Then how can we make the Void Cult take action against Ronan?"
Although Destroyer Drax still did not fully understand the Void Cult after hearing Star-Lord, he understood that the Void Cult beating Ronan would be like beating a child.
"Just pay them. Although there’s no guarantee the Void Cult’s leader will act personally, as long as the price is high enough, some of the Void Cult’s powerful members can be hired."
Star-Lord answered.
"How much?"
Although Destroyer Drax did not have any money in his pockets, he still asked.
"Killing Ronan means opposing the Kree Empire, and it will eventually turn into a war."
"So, usually no one dares put a bounty on Ronan. But if someone really wants to, it would take at least three or four billion."
Star-Lord considered it carefully as he spoke.
He had not understood Ronan before, but after his stint in prison, he now knew that Ronan was a madman representing the Kree Empire’s war faction.
Second update, two thousand words delivered.
