Easy Work

Sarah was utterly shocked when she heard that nearly everyone on the island had superpowers.

As an ordinary person, she felt that being qualified for this job would not be so simple.

After Sonia landed the fighter jet, she led Sarah toward the temple.

"Who is that woman?"

"Miss Sonia is personally leading her?"

"Not sure. Maybe she’s Lord Kassadin’s new housekeeper?"

"Not likely. She looks so weak."

When the Void Cult members saw Miss Sonia personally bringing someone along this time, they gathered one after another, wanting to see what was going on.

Feeling all the gazes sizing her up, Sarah nervously clutched Sonia-senpai’s arm.

It was hard not to be nervous when an ordinary person came to a place surrounded by superpowered people.

"Don’t worry. They’re just curious about you. They won’t hurt you."

Knowing that Sarah was under immense psychological pressure, Sonia softly reassured her.

Hearing those words and seeing Sonia-senpai right beside her, Sarah felt slightly more at ease.

Soon, Sonia brought Sarah to the temple.

More than two hundred Void Cult members had already gathered there to watch.

After all, since joining the Void Cult, the last person they had seen personally led by Miss Sonia was Tycoon Tony Stark.

Setting aside Tony Stark’s strength, no one could question his contributions to Void Island.

"There are now more than five hundred members of the Void Cult. All of you possess exceptional strength and are capable of traveling directly to other planets."

"So, in order to better manage Void Island, so that everyone knows where the others are and can learn immediately and provide support should anyone encounter difficulties."

"When entering or leaving Void Island, or when traveling far away, you may state and record where you are going and roughly when you will be leaving."

"Of course, this is only a record. You do not need to report in and obtain permission before entering or leaving normally."

"This is neither doctrine nor a commandment, nor is it a mandatory rule. You may choose whether or not to follow it."

"This is Sarah. From now on, she will be responsible for recording arrivals and departures on the island."

"If you are willing to follow it, simply let her know when you leave or return."

Standing beneath Lord Kassadin’s statue outside the Void Temple, Sonia looked at the crowd still watching below and spoke slowly.

"Just a quick word is enough?"

"We only need to let her know when we travel far and when we come back?"

"Doesn’t sound like much."

"Compared to something as trivial as saying hello, it doesn’t matter at all."

"What I care about more is where this beauty came from."

Some of the Void Cult members below showed no resistance after hearing the rule.

Compared with their previous freedom to come and go, it merely added the step of saying hello and did not restrict their movements.

"This rule will begin to be implemented one week from now. Please pass this information on to the other Void Cult members."

Seeing that they truly did not seem opposed, Sonia spoke.

Then Sonia took Sarah away and headed to another villa where Mr. Kassadin was not staying.

Since the recorder’s job would continue to exist in the future, they needed to choose a dedicated location and build a more luxurious house, something like an office.

If Sarah passed the test, she would grow accustomed to staying in that house and naturally be willing to remain.

If she did not pass the test and someone else took over in the future, providing a good and comfortable living environment would also make it easier for them to grow attached to the place.

"Sonia-senpai, do they all listen to you?"

After following Sonia-senpai along the road, Sarah asked curiously as the two walked at an unhurried pace.

"On Void Island, aside from having to respect Lord Kassadin above all else."

"The other members do not have clearly defined superior-subordinate relationships. They are all equals."

"Other than keeping records, your work will not involve any additional duties, so you will not have many special privileges either."

Hearing Sarah’s question, Sonia began to explain.

"Then why do they look like they respect you so much?"

Sarah asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Because I am Lord Kassadin’s housekeeper and one of the few people who can directly interact with Lord Kassadin. My status is rather special in their eyes."

"So they are more inclined to trust and listen to me."

"But their willingness to listen does not mean they are all under my command."

Sonia patiently explained the island’s actual situation.

"I only need to keep records?"

"Then how many hours a day do I need to work?"

Hearing this, Sarah remembered that she had not asked about this yet and hurriedly raised the question.

"Considering your physical condition, eight in the morning to eight at night will be enough."

"The island’s members usually travel far away in cosmic fighter jets or cosmic battleships, generally in the afternoon after lunch."

"Their return times are uncertain. Some may suddenly return in the middle of the night."

"At the beginning, they may forget to say hello, but once they get used to it."

"Even if they return in the middle of the night, they should make a point of greeting you the next day."

"So you do not need to feel pressured. While working, even if you temporarily want to take a walk around the island or rest."

"You can put up a sign telling the others what you are going out to do and roughly where you will be."

"As long as others can find you when they need to, that will be enough."

Sonia glanced at Sarah, considered it for a moment, and gave her the initial working hours.

The main purpose of this job was to subtly change some of Void Island’s rules.

It was enough to make the Void Cult members accustomed to greeting the recorder.

Considering that Sarah might pass the test in the future and accept this job, the work itself was naturally rather flexible.

That way, once she gained approval, Sarah would not immediately want to switch to an easier job.

"I only need to work twelve hours a day, and I can even go out and have fun?"

Sarah was somewhat surprised when she heard the working hours.

It was not that she thought the hours were too long, but that she felt they were too short.

Because she had worked at the Celebrity Hotel and had initially been personally guided by Sonia-senpai, she had long grown accustomed to working eighteen hours a day.

"Of course you can go out and have fun."

"Void Island was built with all kinds of entertainment facilities, along with plenty of good food and drinks, precisely for the people on the island to enjoy."

"But you cannot always be out having fun. It would be troublesome if people could not find you."

Seeing Sarah’s little mouth hanging open in surprise, Sonia said with a smile.

Sarah would certainly be able to wander around the island during work, because this job was meant to help her build good relationships with the other members on the island.

Only then would the Void Cult members be more likely to voluntarily greet Sarah before traveling far away.
