Eclipse, the Second Batch of Reincarnators Enters the Field

After activating Instant, Bai Cangshu moved so fast that an ordinary person’s eyes could barely track him. All they saw was a blurry black shadow flash past; by the time they looked closer, there was nothing left to catch.

Bai Cangshu emerged from the golden passage, stomped fiercely against the ground, and leaped dozens of meters into the air. Then, using the Rakshasa Ghost’s ability, he swiftly glided away. Behind him, lightning exploded through the sky.

But Enel did not pursue him, allowing Bai Cangshu to blend into the town and conceal his presence once more.

When he returned to the White District, Bai Cangshu saw a small figure at the junction between the White District and the forbidden mountain range, digging a pit with a hoe.

Clearly, the little girl named Cindy truly intended to bury the three Marine Soldiers’ bodies with her own hands.

"Was something like that really so important?"

"You only needed to push the bodies off the cliff over there and into the sea. Then the priests wouldn’t be able to do anything to them, right?"

Cindy turned around and saw that the elusive big guy had returned. Her face was covered in fine beads of sweat. Hearing Bai Cangshu’s words, she frowned, somewhat unable to understand.

"Uncle Leo and the others came to save us. Wouldn’t it be too pitiful if they died and were still thrown into the sea…?"

She turned around and continued digging.

"I hope they can find peace beneath the earth and not be disturbed."

Only then did Bai Cangshu notice that many places behind this section of the White District bore signs of having been worked over. This was probably not the first time the little girl had done something like this.

Bai Cangshu said nothing. His values were completely different from Cindy’s, and to him, Cindy was ultimately just an "NPC" from a Derivative World. Preaching to such an existence was entirely meaningless.

So Bai Cangshu returned directly to the house. He looked at the half of the food deliberately left on the table, but did not eat it.

Instead, he took out that greatsword again.

This enormous sword, which seemed somewhat out of place in the One Piece World, was now beginning to reveal its origins to Bai Cangshu.

It came from the Berserk World—the Dragon Slayer wielded by the plot protagonist, Guts!

The only thing that still seemed somewhat strange was that when Bai Cangshu held the sword, it did indeed absorb his Haki or life force. That behavior did not seem like a trait of the Dragon Slayer; rather, it resembled the black blades of the One Piece World.

And…

How could the protagonist of the Berserk World have appeared in the One Piece World? This was different from characters from the Tokyo Ravens timeline appearing in the Jujutsu World.

The One Piece World was a classic, independent fictional world. It had no corresponding relationship with the real world, and therefore no issue of a historical timeline.

If, through the crossover of certain works, characters from Toriko or even the Dragon Ball World appeared on certain islands in this world, Bai Cangshu could still interpret it through the worldviews of those special works.

But Berserk and One Piece did not seem like worlds that could possibly be connected.

Bai Cangshu lightly tapped the tabletop. After ruling out every possibility in his mind, he could only arrive at one explanation—Guts had become a Reincarnator!

Only Reincarnators could freely travel between unrelated worlds. Only Reincarnators would recklessly alter other worlds.

Once he accepted the premise that this "Guts" was a Reincarnator, many of this world’s mysteries could be explained.

Two years ago, a group of Reincarnators entered this world. Among them, one might have carried a Behelit. It was impossible to determine whether it had been the crimson Egg of the King, but in the end, that Reincarnator successfully activated the Eclipse in the desert kingdom of Alabasta, sacrificing some unknown but most important thing, as well as all the people of Alabasta.

Guts, who had also been in this world, was very likely connected to that Reincarnator somehow. Perhaps Guts had even been pursuing him, or the Behelit in his possession.

A brutal battle ultimately took place, but its outcome was unknown.

In the eyes of this world’s Plot Characters, everyone in Alabasta had vanished, and there was no explanation for it.

For some unknown reason, that battle eventually reached Skypiea, and its intensity rose to an unprecedented level, at the very least far exceeding the limits of the Strong tier.

During the fierce battle between several monsters at the minimum Fierce-tier, Skypiea shattered and Eldorado fell. The demon that remained was imprisoned by Enel in the current Golden Pyramid for unknown reasons.

Bai Cangshu recalled that black-eyed Skypiean. He had not actually possessed much offensive capability. The ability he had displayed merely corroded others through self-harm, yet he had constantly been luring Bai Cangshu into attacking him.

That likely meant his true body—or the real demon, perhaps even an Apostle—was imprisoned within that pyramid.

Enel’s particular fondness for gold was not because he valued it as wealth. Rather, he was obsessed with gold’s conductivity, which let him conveniently use the Rumble-Rumble Fruit to shape it. Gold’s excellent conductivity was also why he had built a flying ark.

At this point, all the events began linking together in Bai Cangshu’s mind.

Enel, Guts, the unknown Behelit holder, and… that king of unknown identity.

Bai Cangshu put away the greatsword. After his physical activity had recovered, he took that arm from his Backpack.

The arm was exceedingly withered, like the arm of a mummy. It was impossible to tell from its appearance whether Guts had been its owner.

Guts had no real connection to the king of the world. If it were Griffith instead, there would be some possibility.

Could the king of the world really be Joy Boy?!

While Bai Cangshu was thinking, the little girl Cindy had already dragged her hoe back at a trot.

"Given up?"

From the sound alone, Bai Cangshu knew that there was no way the little girl could have dug such a large pit in so little time.

The little girl shook her head, her red braid swaying.

"Cindy is tired. I’ll keep digging tomorrow."

Like a villain entirely devoid of empathy, Bai Cangshu relentlessly picked apart a kind person’s morals.

"No, Big Guy. I left some food by the cliff. If there are wild beasts, they should go eat that meat instead, and besides…"

"Uncle Leo and the others won’t blame me. I know they’ll understand how weak Cindy is!"

After saying that, the little girl went off to rest on her own. Bai Cangshu turned his head and saw Olgins, whose body exceeded three meters in height, sneaking toward the place where the little girl had planned to bury the bodies. Clearly, he intended to secretly do the work for her.

Bai Cangshu felt increasingly out of place with those two.

Did they really believe in an afterlife?

Otherwise, what meaning could there possibly be in doing something like this?

Having learned the truth of the world, Bai Cangshu happened to need to reconsider his next course of action. He did not actually care about Guts and that unknown Apostle Reincarnator’s story. All he needed to know was that Eldorado currently concealed a devastating weapon, and that was enough.

At the right moment, he could destroy that pyramid and release the monster capable of causing large-scale corrosion—or perhaps some demon, Apostle, or God Hand. He did not care what it specifically was.

Every kind of power had an appropriate use. Released at the proper time, it would become his aid.

Whether it was Enel or the second batch of Reincarnators about to enter this world, the enemies in this world were extremely powerful. That only made Bai Cangshu’s thoughts more active and left him rather excited.

He had no need to sleep at night. His extremely high Spirit attribute meant he normally only needed very short periods of rest to replenish mental exhaustion, while physical fatigue could practically be ignored.

Thus, with this rare moment of leisure, Bai Cangshu actually had the inclination to approach Olgins.

"You… has no one ever told you that there’s something wrong with your mind?"

Olgins lowered his head and continued working. His words made Bai Cangshu smile, and his hands unconsciously dropped to his sides. As if he could not sense any hostility, Olgins continued to face away from Bai Cangshu as he dug.

"Humans are human because they have empathy for one another."

"The reason the little girl insists on burying those idiots is actually because… she’s afraid!"

Olgins turned around and met Bai Cangshu’s gaze. He could clearly see that Bai Cangshu’s hands, hanging at his sides, seemed capable of taking his life at any moment.

"Can’t you see how afraid she is?"

"She once did the same thing, slowly burying the bodies of her parents after their faces had become unrecognizable and more than half their bodies had been eaten by seabirds. That’s why she left bread and grain by the cliff, believing that every beast that ate corpses was one of those seabirds. Heh…"

"She lives in what used to be her best friend’s house, but that friend’s body was buried by the little girl too."

Bai Cangshu frowned. He was judging whether Olgins was deliberately saying such things to save his own life, or whether some powerful Plot Character in this world had truly expressed such an understanding.

In many worldviews, there were indeed concepts of heart, body, and skill. And since the One Piece World had something like Conqueror’s Haki, it was certainly possible for similar things to emerge.

Feeling the gaze at his back, Olgins felt some regret, but he simply could not stand this powerful and heartless man’s complete indifference toward the little girl’s efforts.

After burying the three bodies, he turned around, only to discover that Bai Cangshu had vanished at some point.

Bai Cangshu saw the white mist appearing over the sea once again and knew that those ghosts had returned. He could not spare the time to argue with Olgins over logic and perception, so he swiftly headed up the mountain.

Seeing the white mist covering the mountains and plains, as well as the ghosts all moving toward the Golden Pyramid, he became even more certain that the pyramid was probably the reason Corey had died.

He suddenly reached out and grabbed Corey from within the ghostly crowd.

After obtaining the Spirit Toucher milestone, Bai Cangshu could already directly interact with spirits.

Only after Corey was pulled free of the white mist did he notice Bai Cangshu’s presence.

"It’s you, the human who can see me."

Bai Cangshu nodded.

"Officer Corey, I’ve already contacted reinforcements from Marine Headquarters. Four Marine Headquarters Vice Admirals and an Admiral Candidate are currently in the outer sea. Is there any other information you have about this island?"

This was the first time Bai Cangshu had seen Reincarnators being deployed into a world from an observer’s perspective.

Standing atop the mountain, he took note of every location where the Reincarnators entered.

Because this was a team battle world, the Space could not possibly deploy the Reincarnators too far apart. The One Piece World was already vast; if the Reincarnators were too far apart, they might not be able to engage in battle quickly, which did not suit the Space’s purpose of raising gu.

The farthest beam of light fell outside Skuld Island. Bai Cangshu could only see a vague band of light and guessed that it had been deployed near Mock Town.

The nearest one fell directly within the town.

Two landed on a beach at the edge of Skuld Island.

Four landed in the waters outside Skuld Island.

Bai Cangshu guessed that both groups had entered as teams.

After making a final record of these people’s team compositions, he turned to first check on the one in town.

But in the next instant—

Bang!

A massive firework pattern exploded in the sky, and the symbol of a fire dragon appeared overhead.

Bai Cangshu recognized it as Flame Demon’s symbol. Soon afterward, fireworks also shot into the air and exploded within the town.

Clearly, the one in town and those out at sea were together.

The corners of Bai Cangshu’s mouth curled up. Flame Demon was as flamboyant and foolish as ever.

His figure swiftly began gliding down from the mountain toward the town.

Though the Plot Characters could not see the Reincarnators’ firework markers, they would not overlook the other explosions.

As he flew through the air, he saw the man in the black top hat moving from the town toward the outer sea. Bai Cangshu raised his right hand, and powerful qi instantly gathered.
