Even Breathing Is Wrong for the Weak

"Ah…" Skye woke from a nightmare, turned on the light, poured herself a glass of cold water, and drank it down. After taking a few breaths, she sat at the head of the bed, staring blankly into space.

She was hiding in some motel. No one there cared whether their guests were wanted criminals—or, to put it another way, the people who came here to stay were either poor wretches or people with cases hanging over their heads.

Ever since the Space Gate Incident, she had been wanted.

No one believed any of her explanations.

The process of her hijacking the S.H.I.E.L.D. transport van had been recorded by a dashcam in a car parked by the roadside, and the footage was now being played on a loop by all the major television stations.

Combined with the video of her battling S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Magnetic Field Warriors beside the enormous pillar of light, the truth was already self-evident.

Damn!

She had clearly paid attention to the cameras at the time, so how had such a huge mistake still happened?

Skye cursed herself for being careless and deeply regretted turning back to check on the situation, never imagining that the entire thing had been deliberately arranged by someone.

The identity John had arranged for her had originally been that of a scapegoat.

If she had not been kindhearted enough to turn back and investigate, she would never have known that she had gotten herself into such serious trouble. Once S.H.I.E.L.D. dealt with the aliens, a whole group of people would have pounced on her, and she would not even have been able to escape.

The Snake Shield Bureau had devoted most of its attention to Captain America’s personal show. They had merely assigned someone to oversee Skye’s side, which was why she had managed to escape after suffering severe injuries instead of being killed on the spot.

Her sleepiness was gone, and Skye had no intention of staying here any longer. Her wanted notice was plastered everywhere now, and who knew whether someone might report her?

She washed up quickly, then gathered all her belongings. She even gave up her deposit, opened the window, and leaped down, disappearing into the night.

She was out of options. After thinking it over, she could only count on her master, Zhan Liu, to save her.

In New York as it was now, a word from the Martial Arts School carried more weight than the government.

If anyone could uncover the truth behind this matter, it was undoubtedly her master, Zhan Liu.

But the question was how she could get inside.

The Martial Arts School now covered a vast area, almost the size of a small town.

Getting from the outskirts to the center meant crossing several streets.

Even after reaching the center of town, entering the Martial Arts School would not be easy.

Ordinary people who came to study martial arts were only allowed to move around the outermost area. They could go farther in only after becoming disciples.

Without a wanted notice, she could definitely enter the Martial Arts School directly and meet her master. But now she was worried that other Magnetic Field disciples would stop her before she even reached the middle.

As for calling him… she did not have Zhan Liu’s phone number.

Zhan Liu now had countless disciples, but apart from those who had joined early, most of the later disciples did not have his number.

Under normal circumstances, getting the number through another disciple should not have been difficult.

But now she was the culprit who had brought about the alien invasion, and no one else would be willing to give it to her.

If she were an ordinary person, she could have hacked into the telecommunications company and searched for the number herself.

But Zhan Liu’s number was an absolute VIP secret, impossible to find easily, especially since she had no professional equipment with her.

After circling the Martial Arts School several times, Skye decided to walk straight in through the main entrance in broad daylight.

Once she had made up her mind, she first "borrowed" a luxury car. Its windows were covered with one-way film, and she drove toward the Martial Arts School with great swagger.

Luxury cars appeared around the Martial Arts School every day, so hers was nothing unusual.

Naturally, no one came over to check on her.

She arrived at the parking lot without a hitch, got out, and put on a pair of oversized sunglasses.

Then she took a huge gift box from the trunk and used Magnetic Field Force to hold it in front of her face.

The gift box looked extremely heavy, the kind that an ordinary person could never move.

Anyone looking from a distance would immediately know that this was a senior sister who could use Magnetic Field Rotation, so they would not deliberately stop her.

In reality, Skye had no money to buy gifts. The box was filled with rocks.

Relying on this display of Magnetic Field Force, she passed smoothly through the Martial Arts School’s outermost two layers and reached the innermost area.

The innermost area was where disciples at the Magnetic Field Rotation level rested and carried out their activities. Going any farther would not be so easy.

"Hey, which junior sister brought a gift? You can leave it at the reception desk. Master already has gifts piled up like a mountain here. He may not be interested in seeing yours personally." The Magnetic Field Rotation disciple on duty came over to Skye.

Skye took a deep breath, knowing that the crucial moment had arrived.

She put the gift box on the ground and smiled openly at the man who had approached her. "Hey, senior brother, is Master here? I need to see him."

"Master is in the training room… It’s you, Skye!" This Magnetic Field Warrior was also with S.H.I.E.L.D. When he saw the wanted criminal standing before him, he immediately raised his Magnetic Field Force and moved to arrest her.

Skye smiled faintly. "Senior brother, rule number two of the sect forbids harming fellow disciples. Have you forgotten?"

The Magnetic Field Warrior hurriedly shifted the palm he had struck out. The force of his palm grazed Skye’s shoulder and slammed into the ground, erupting with a thunderous boom as bricks and stones flew everywhere.

Skye did not know how Zhan Liu defined "harming fellow disciples." It had a distinctly War God flavor to it. She was betting on the deterrent power of the Ultimate Limit Sect’s rules.

The Magnetic Field Warrior pulled back and leaped away, his face dark as he shouted, "You colluded with aliens and are wanted throughout the entire world, yet you still dare return to the Martial Arts School? Hurry up and surrender!"

Seeing that he did not dare to fight her, Skye knew that her gamble had paid off. She immediately smiled and said, "Whether I colluded with aliens isn’t for you to decide. Even if I did something wrong, the sect rules should punish me. Since when does the United States government get to interfere and run its mouth?"

"You…" The man was furious and was about to rebuke her when loud laughter suddenly came from behind him.

"Hahaha… Junior sister is right. If someone from my Ultimate Limit Sect has done wrong, Master should naturally punish them. It is not an outsider’s place to interfere!"

Skye looked toward the source of the voice and saw a middle-aged man stride out of the small courtyard.

"Junior sister, Master wants you to go in and speak with him."

"Thank you, Senior Brother Hong Tu!" Skye was overjoyed. She hurriedly thanked him, tossed aside the gift box, and entered the courtyard at the core of the Martial Arts School.

Hong Tu walked over and opened the box for a look. He shook his head with helpless amusement, then thrust out a hand and shattered all the rocks inside before casually scattering the dust.

Skye entered the inner courtyard and saw Zhan Liu drinking tea and reading a book. She respectfully bowed and greeted him, then immediately began crying out her grievances and reporting what had happened.

When Zhan Liu had seen the news that day, he had already known that the unlucky Skye had been used.

"You were stupid. It’s only natural that you deserved it for being used!"

"I originally did not want to bother with you, but what you said outside the door greatly pleased your master, so I’ll give you a chance!"

"You can choose to continue living in New York. No one will dare touch you. Or you can choose to leave the United States, but if people hunt you down overseas, your master won’t get involved."

When Skye heard this, she knew that Zhan Liu understood the hidden truth behind the matter. She immediately put on a pitiful, ingratiating expression and said:

"Master, can I choose a third path? Could you clear my name and have me removed from the wanted list?"

Zhan Liu rolled his eyes at her and mocked, "What are you thinking? Clear your name for you?"

"You need to understand one thing."

"When you are weak, even breathing is wrong!"

"I wiped out the Pentagon, and not a single person dared come over and say a word!"

"Want to clear your name? Wait until you reach the Tenth Heaven before coming to see your master!"
