Farce
"If you want to save the world, you should go find those Super Heroes."
Hearing the priest’s words, Dr. Pym sneered. He had indeed once been a Super Hero, but now, he was merely an eccentric old man.
"All the Super Heroes belong to the Blood God. They can’t be trusted."
The priest said, "Dr. Pym, only Ant-Man can save this world. Don’t you want this world to escape the Blood God’s clutches?"
Dr. Pym remained unmoved. Seeing this, the priest could only say, "As long as you help us obtain that item, we’ll fund your Quantum Tunnel."
Dr. Pym’s eyes lit up. He asked, "Do you have that much money? A Quantum Tunnel isn’t something that can be built with just a few hundred million or a few billion."
"Our funds may not compare to the Blood God’s, but they will absolutely exceed your imagination."
The priest smiled. Dr. Pym hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Deal."
"Very good."
The priest nodded in satisfaction, but sighed inwardly. Even former Super Heroes had fallen. This world needed purification.
After that, Dr. Pym returned home and said to Scott Lang, "Before the official operation, we’ll conduct a small test. Go steal something from the Angel Church’s Vatican headquarters."
"No problem. I’m ready. Not only can I pass through keyholes, I can control ants too."
Scott Lang spoke with complete confidence. Dr. Pym glanced at him and said, "Go get ready. We’ll act in a few days."
With that, Dr. Pym turned and left. Halfway there, he remembered something and went back inside, only to find Scott getting cozy with his daughter Hope. He immediately flew into a rage.
I told you to steal something, and you stole my daughter instead? No wonder this bastard has improved so quickly these past few days. My daughter’s been giving him special tutoring.
This time, he had suffered a huge loss.
Thinking of the mission, Dr. Pym gritted his teeth and endured it. Once this was over, he would absolutely kick that bastard far away. How could a thieving ex-con with a second marriage possibly be worthy of becoming his son-in-law?
Meanwhile, a certain presidential candidate was throwing a massive tantrum—his Twitter posts kept getting deleted within seconds. Even more outrageously, only small TV Stations aired his speeches. The major TV Stations ignored him completely.
"Damn it, this is unfair! This violates election principles! I’m going to sue them!"
The candidate roared. Beside him, his balding advisor said, "You should be grateful. This is the lightest punishment that person has given you. You should know that if he wanted to, he could erase you at any time."
"He wouldn’t do that."
The candidate said confidently, "No one understands him better than I do. He only acts within the rules. Once I become president, he’ll obediently listen to me."
The advisor was speechless. He did not even know where to begin mocking him. No wonder this guy dared oppose the Blood God. He was genuinely an idiot.
"Forget that. Twitter, Facebook, and the TV Stations are all suppressing us. What do we do now?"
The candidate said, "Without those channels, how will the public know my platform? How will they support me? Hmph, they’re too despicable. They know they can’t beat me, so they’re resorting to dirty tricks and cheating."
The advisor could not help wanting to roll his eyes. You really are confident.
Everyone in the room, aside from the candidate himself, believed he had no chance of winning.
The reason they had pushed him out to run this time was, first, because everyone knew he would lose, so they had simply picked someone at random. Second, they wanted to use his remarks to see if they could draw the Blood God back to Earth.
The Blood God had spent over a year in space, and the major players all felt uneasy. If the Blood God was not around, who would protect Earth? Who would guide them into the interstellar age? If the Blood God was not around, who would President Ellis call for help? After thinking it over, the advisor said, "At this point, all we can do is hold more rallies. You can personally promote your platform to them. It will save money too."
"Would I be short on money? Find a way to get my supporters to donate."
The candidate snorted. At that moment, someone entered to report that a priest wanted to see him.
This well-dressed priest had been sent by the Grand Elder. After exchanging pleasantries, he said to the candidate, "As long as you expose the Blood Clan, we will donate a large amount of campaign funding to you. In addition, we will persuade the faithful to vote for you."
"Really?"
The candidate’s eyes lit up. Just as he was about to agree, the advisor repeatedly signaled to him with his eyes. After some thought, he had the priest leave first.
The candidate then asked the advisor, "You disagree? This is a good opportunity. Once it succeeds, even that person won’t be able to suppress me anymore, and we’ll receive a huge amount of campaign funding."
The advisor said with a wry smile, "Sir, aren’t you afraid that person will kill you?"
"Not afraid. He won’t break the rules, and besides, I’ll only talk about vampires, not him."
The candidate said, "More importantly, if I don’t do this, I’ll never become president."
Seeing that the candidate had been completely blinded by greed, the advisor could not be bothered to say more. He said, "This is a risky move. If you insist on doing it, I suggest you prepare enough evidence."
"Don’t worry. The priest must have evidence."
The candidate smiled. Then, he called the priest back in to discuss the details. The advisor listened for a while, pretended to go to the bathroom, then unhesitatingly reported everything to the Blood God Group.
What a joke. He did not want to die, and the Blood God Group was very generous. This information was worth at least a Rolls Royce.
After selling out the candidate, the advisor walked out of the stall and unexpectedly found a bodyguard emerging with a broad smile. The two looked at each other and both recalled one detail—there had been no sound of running water.
"Oh."
They both understood. So, you were a traitor too.
They smiled at each other without saying anything more, washed their hands, and left the restroom. On their way back, they faintly heard a voice. Going over to investigate, they found the candidate’s secretary furtively making a phone call.
The secretary was clearly a rookie. Seeing the two of them startled him. The advisor shook his head, pretended not to see anything, and returned to the office with the bodyguard.
With this many people, will there even be a chance to get a Rolls Royce? Looks like I’ll need to get more exclusive intelligence. Who would have thought even traitors had to compete with each other?
The advisor did not find it strange at all. The candidate was certain to lose. What was wrong with everyone making a little extra money? Soon, the candidate and the priest finalized their terms. Then, the candidate impatiently had someone organize a press conference.
The next evening, the candidate invited a large number of reporters and broadcast the press conference live.
"I once said that after I was elected, I would tell everyone the whole truth. Now, I’ve decided to reveal it early."
The candidate shouted from the stage, "This world has not only gods, but devils and vampires as well.
Those monsters that appeared during the Battle of New York were not some damn aliens. They were all devils.
As for vampires, they are even more terrifying. They have always lived among us. They even established a police department and secretly enforce the law."
The candidate’s revelations greatly shocked the reporters. While taking pictures, they asked, "The Blood Clan established a police department? Is that true?"
"Of course it’s true."
The candidate said, "No one understands vampires better than I do. They used to fear sunlight, but later, Stark Industries developed a type of mask for them…
Vampires control enormous wealth. In previous years, they kept buying blood, which was why the blood supply became insufficient back then. Later, vampires developed Artificial Blood and no longer depended on human blood. Only then did blood prices come down.
The Blood Clan Police Department has existed for years. The New York Police Department often enforces the law together with them…"
Because of Wang Bert, this candidate did not dare spout nonsense. Everything he said was true, and the reporters’ brows furrowed more deeply the longer they listened.
Finally, one reporter could not help interrupting him. He asked, "Isn’t everything you said part of the plot of ‘Blood Clan Police Department’? Is today’s press conference actually a plot introduction event for ‘Blood Clan Police Department’?"
The reporters burst into laughter. Masks, Artificial Blood, joint law enforcement—every one of those things appeared in the hit TV series "Blood Clan Police Department."
"You are all so stupid."
The candidate had come prepared. He said, "’Blood Clan Police Department’ was filmed by the Blood Clan. Most of the plot is real. Also, let me tell you something: the sunglasses worn by the Director of the Blood Clan Police Department are the real Blade’s sunglasses. The appearance fee was several million.
Don’t think I’m lying. Go check the financial reports for ‘Blood Clan Police Department.’ Those sunglasses really earned several million."
The reporters were stunned, but most still did not believe him. Eddie Brock, a reporter from the Daily Bugle, asked, "Sir, are you going to tell me that Blood God is real too?
The Blood God who only appears in the background, saved New York, saved the world, is invincible, and can do anything?"
"Of course he’s real. Without him, New York would have been occupied by demons long ago."
Having completely forgotten his earlier promise, the candidate loudly declared, "The Blood God has saved Earth many times. He also owns two major corporations…"
"The Osborn Corporation and the Blood God Group?"
Eddie Brock, who looked somewhat weathered, asked with burning eyes. In truth, he had always been investigating news related to the Blood God. If he could get solid evidence, he would become the king of reporters.
"That’s right."
The candidate was getting carried away. He said, "The Osborn Corporation and the Blood God Group. The Blood God is Earth’s richest man. Tony Stark is not even worth a fart in front of him."
In front of the television, Tony asked with a dark expression, "Fine, he can praise you, but why does he have to step on me?"
Wang Bert laughed heartily. "Maybe because your face is better suited to being stepped on."
Watching the candidate dare to say anything, the advisor could not help shaking his head. This guy was truly courting death in spectacular fashion. Fortunately, he had not completely lost his mind and knew to praise the Blood God.
The candidate seemingly felt his revelations were not enough and continued, "Do you know? The Blood God is now Earth’s foreign ambassador. He has the final say in all matters between Earth and aliens. Xandar and Sovereign established diplomatic relations with us because of him.
Also, he is not only Earth’s richest man, but Xandar’s richest man as well."
The reporters were even more shocked. The candidate’s claims were so outrageous that they could not help wondering whether he had gone insane.
Eddie suddenly understood. "Earth’s ambassador? No wonder the United Nations has never announced the Earth ambassador’s name."
"The United Nations and the American government have both been concealing the Blood God. Only I will tell you the truth."
The candidate said smugly, "The Sovereign were originally golden, but later, the Blood God conquered them and forced them to change their skin to yellow.
Also, the Blood God has not returned to Earth for over a year. I heard he was bewitched by those beautiful Sovereign women."
One reporter could not help asking, "Sir, the more you speak, the more ridiculous this becomes. Do you have evidence for any of this?"
"Of course. Tonight, I deliberately brought two vampires here."
The candidate clapped his hands, and several bodyguards escorted two extremely weak-looking vampires over. They were vampires secretly imprisoned by Holy Light Warriors and had been sent here specifically to serve as the candidate’s evidence.
The reporters immediately began photographing the vampires. The camera flashes made them very uncomfortable, and they kept turning their heads away.
The candidate shouted, "Come on, show everyone your fangs."
The two vampires were reluctant, but upon seeing the priest mixed among the reporters, they could only open their mouths and reveal their fangs.
"These are the real deal, not dentures…"
The candidate was boasting when, suddenly, one vampire’s fang fell to the floor with a smack. The venue immediately fell into deathly silence.
"Sir, are you sure that wasn’t a denture?"
One reporter asked mockingly while taking pictures. Everyone burst into laughter. Sure enough, it was all fake.
The candidate angrily asked the priest below, "Didn’t you say they were real vampires?"
The priest ignored him and turned to leave. Clearly, the scheme had been exposed.
"I am absolutely a real vampire. If you don’t believe me, I’ll show you."
The other vampire suddenly gave a ferocious smile, turned, and lunged at the candidate. "I’m going to turn him into a vampire."
The candidate was horrified and hurriedly dragged his clumsy body away. At the same time, he shrieked at the bodyguards, "Stop him! Stop him…"
The bodyguards pretended not to hear him. The reason was simple: they had all been bought off. That was also why the two vampires had been switched.
"Security! Security! Stop them now!"
The advisor shouted as well, but his feet did not move at all. He merely wanted to display some professional spirit. As for the candidate, it was time for him to learn a lesson.
The Blood God did indeed follow the rules, but that did not mean you could offend him.
Watching the candidate flee wildly across the floor, chased by the vampire in complete disarray, the reporters laughed uproariously. Not a single person went up to help him. They just kept taking pictures.
This candidate was finished. He would never have any future again, because everyone now knew he was a madman, a lunatic.
At a Hydra base, Baron Strucker watched the farce on television and sneered. "What an idiot. How could the Blood God possibly be brought down by such a petty scheme? Forget whether anyone would believe those things. Even if they did, so what? The Blood God stands there—who would dare touch him? There is only one way to defeat him: possess strength greater than his.
Pierce chose the wrong path. Strength alone is what Hydra should pursue."
Wanda, young but with an incredibly voluptuous figure, asked in confusion, "Baron, didn’t you want to support him as president? Why don’t you care at all that he humiliated himself? This incident will definitely cause his approval rating to plummet."
