Fierce Battle
What surprised Chen Mu was that a single soldier was already capable of suppressing Hulk.
Of course, the main reason was that Hulk’s anger had gradually been depleted.
A full seven or eight hours had passed since Hulk escaped the Brazilian slums. Coupled with his rampage through the jungle, his anger had basically been exhausted.
Hulk was currently at his weakest in terms of combat power.
Of course, Hulk was the type to grow stronger the longer he fought. Though his anger had gradually faded earlier, the Kirin Armor’s relentless bombardment was making him increasingly furious.
As the first wave of bombardment ended, Hulk reappeared before them.
There were barely any visible wounds on Hulk’s body. His green eyes burned with fury as they fixed on the Kirin Armor in midair.
Even his body seemed to have grown a size larger than before.
"Hulk smash you to pieces!"
Hulk roared, kicked off with both feet, and shot toward the Kirin Armor in midair like a missile.
But the battle-hardened soldier was no pushover. The instant he noticed Hulk’s movement, he skillfully operated the armor to evade.
He easily dodged Hulk’s pounce.
Hulk, on the other hand, was left suspended in the air with nowhere to brace himself, becoming a target once again.
Unable to move freely in the air, Hulk was nothing more than a living target.
"This monster’s defense is seriously strong."
Xu Jia watched the battle with uncertainty in her eyes.
She was truly shocked that Hulk could withstand a barrage of missiles with nothing but his body.
Although those missiles were miniature and had limited yield, there had been so many of them.
That previous barrage must have contained dozens of missiles, yet it had failed to break through his defenses.
"A dense wave of bombardment actually couldn’t pierce his defenses?"
Xu Jia found the outcome somewhat unbelievable.
In her understanding, it was simply impossible for flesh and blood to achieve such a thing.
"It’s not that his defenses can’t be broken. It’s that he has an extremely strong recovery ability," Chen Mu said, voicing his thoughts.
"Perhaps those miniature missiles truly didn’t cause him much damage, but they definitely injured Hulk. It’s just that his own recovery ability healed those minor injuries quickly, making it look as though he wasn’t hurt at all."
Hulk’s defense was indeed formidable, but not enough to completely ignore physical attacks.
The lack of substantial damage was merely because the firepower was insufficient.
In Chen Mu’s view, leaving everything else aside, any carbon-based life-form could absolutely be destroyed by a tide of steel and blanket firepower.
Even an existence like Hulk could be killed as long as the firepower was fierce enough and the attacks dense enough!
Of course, Chen Mu’s goal was not to kill Hulk. Even the soldiers’ primary objective was to subdue the big guy. Only if there was truly no other way would they consider killing him outright.
Chen Mu had come here because he naturally did not want to see Hulk directly killed. He still wanted to analyze the mutation ability within the Hulk.
If they could master this power, it would be unimaginably good news for all of Hua Country.
Hulk, Gamma Rays radiation mutation technology, analyzing: 1%, 10%As he drew closer and closer to Hulk, the system continued issuing notifications.
Hulk, originally named Bruce Banner, was a physicist from America. An accident in a laboratory exposed him to Gamma Rays, causing his body to mutate and giving birth to a monster called Hulk within him.
Hulk possessed unparalleled strength, and he could grow increasingly powerful with his anger, as though there were no upper limit.
Of course, Hulk would later become a Super Hero as a member of the Avengers.
And purely in terms of strength, Hulk was widely acknowledged as the strongest member of the Avengers.
But it could not be denied that before Hulk became an Avenger, he had killed quite a few people.
Most of them had been American soldiers pursuing him, of course, but there had also been innocent ordinary bystanders among them.
After becoming an Avenger, Hulk was instead loved by people. As for the mistakes he had made, people naturally chose to forgive him!
Chen Mu merely smiled at that sort of explanation. Do whatever you want. Whether they forgave him or not had nothing to do with Chen Mu. Besides, the people who died were not his compatriots anyway.
"Hulk!" Hulk roared, but he had no way to deal with the soldier flying in the air. In his fury, he could only pick up a huge boulder nearby and hurl it into the sky.
However, for the agile soldier, dodging it was extremely easy.
"This monster’s strength is terrifying. Something weighing dozens of tons looks like a ball in his hands."
Seeing Hulk effortlessly lift a stone larger than himself and throw it into the air, Xu Jia could not help drawing in a cold breath.
Who the hell created this thing? How could it be so terrifying?
"His strength is preliminarily estimated to be in the dozens of tons. And have you noticed? His strength is still slowly increasing. Even his body seems to be gradually growing larger."
As his anger continued to build, Hulk’s combat power grew stronger and stronger.
But no matter how strong he became, as long as he could not fly, he remained firmly restrained by the agile soldier.
The soldier in Kirin Armor was like a ranged ADC, while Hulk was a slow-moving tank who could not even touch the edge of the airborne Qilin Warrior’s clothes.
Although Hulk’s defense was powerful, he was not truly invincible.
Human strength always had limits, and Hulk was no exception.
Leaving aside how Thanos would later beat him senseless, even during the Avengers’ battle, the Chitauri soldiers could suppress him with firepower. As long as they waited for Hulk to exhaust his strength, they could defeat him.
Meanwhile, after discovering that miniature missiles caused limited damage to Hulk, the soldier changed tactics and began attacking him with energy weapons such as palm cannons and laser emitters.
Though the results were still far from ideal, at least there was no need to worry about ammunition consumption.
With the Arc Reactor’s energy, firing at the current energy output for an entire day would not be a problem.
What was more, every soldier on this mission carried backup energy. They even had an Arc Reactor tucked into their pockets. Once one Arc Reactor ran out of energy, they could simply replace it with another. There was no need whatsoever to worry about their sustained combat capability.
The number of miniature missiles was limited, so they would save them for when they were needed later. In the current situation, using palm cannons was enough to give Hulk a hard time.
It was like fighting a boss. They only needed to slowly wear him down.
