Fired-Up Da Ji, Blazing Sun’s Bootlicker Appears
"Shared and common, Myriad Streams Return to Origin!"
This was a cultivation technique practiced collectively by the snake clan. Guided by the Snake Mother, it helped the snake clan cultivate, while all the Magical Power they cultivated gathered within the Snake Mother. After being transformed by her, it was then distributed back to every snake demon.
Cultivating this way was indeed incredibly fast, with everyone making up for each other’s shortcomings. It seemed like there was nothing wrong with it, but in truth, the problems were enormous.
All that demonic power was assimilated by the more powerful Snake Mother. The Magical Power flowing back to the snake demons was like borrowed power—it did not belong to them, and they only had the right to use it.
Once the Snake Mother reclaimed that Magical Power, those snake demons would become mere tools. Their Magical Power would all be devoured, and they might even suffer the destruction of both body and soul.
"Xiao Bai, did you sense something?" Xiao Qing’s gaze was sharp.
Although the Snake Mother was their master, she trusted Xiao Bai more.
"This technique can’t be cultivated anymore. The hidden danger is too great. Besides, the Snake Mother’s technique shares the same Source as the Taiyin Taoist’s. Both use power of extreme yin, so the Snake Mother must have some ulterior motive in dealing with the Taiyin Taoist," Xiao Bai said.
"But we’ve already cultivated it. Based on your guess, Xiao Bai, the Snake Mother can directly control our Magical Power. We can’t resist her either," Xiao Qing said.
"There will be a way. Let’s go to Baoqing Workshop," Xiao Bai said.
In truth, after reading the script, Xiao Bai’s thoughts had become much clearer.
Why, among so many members of the snake clan, had the Snake Mother specifically sent her to assassinate the Taiyin Taoist—the National Teacher of the Great Tang emperor?
Naturally, it was because of her talent. The Snake Mother feared Xiao Bai’s talent, afraid that one day she would suffer backlash and that Xiao Bai would expose the true purpose of her cultivation technique. So she might as well send Xiao Bai to serve as cannon fodder.
If she could assassinate the National Teacher, so much the better. If she failed, then at least a potential threat would be eliminated.
"Alright, Xiao Bai. I’ll listen to you." Xiao Qing nodded and stopped hesitating.
"Mm." Xiao Bai revealed a relieved expression.
Baoqing Workshop.
At this moment, seated before Xiao Qing and Xiao Bai was a petite two-faced Nine-tailed Fox, her pale legs crossed elegantly.
She seemed to possess two distinctly different personalities. One face had the appearance of a young girl, while the other was that of a fox.
The Baoqing Workshop Master was a proper businesswoman. Two servants whose vital essence had been drained followed at her side, both looking dull-witted.
"Two honored guests, is there anything I can help you with?"
The Little Fox wore only a small bellyband underneath, her skin snow-white, with a red gauze shawl casually draped over her body. She was sexy and enchanting.
Yet she gave off an exceedingly mature air. Her fox eyes were unfathomably deep, and she held a smoking pipe in her hand, puffing out clouds of smoke from time to time, carefree as an immortal.
"I never expected the famous Baoqing Workshop Master to be a child," Xiao Qing remarked.
The Little Fox smiled lightly. Her petite body teleported onto Xiao Qing’s back, and one of her faces transformed into that of a solemn old fox. In a hoarse voice, she said, "A child? Hehehe. At my true age, I could be your great-grandmother’s great-grandmother’s great-grandmother…"
The Little Fox switched faces again, returning to her original seductive young fox face. She took a deep drag from her pipe, exhaled purple smoke, and blew it straight into Xiao Qing’s face.
"Cough, cough, cough…" Xiao Qing choked on the smoke and hurriedly waved it away.
"Workshop Master, I would like to ask if there is any way to sever the connection of the Taiyin True Art," Xiao Bai said.
Upon hearing the words Taiyin True Art, the Baoqing Workshop Master’s expression changed slightly. She jumped onto her jeweled boss’s chair, crossed her pale legs, and said faintly, "The Taiyin True Art is divided into upper and lower volumes. The upper volume mainly cultivates power of extreme yin. The more impatient method is to cultivate by devouring extreme yin power through external means.
"The lower volume, meanwhile, is for group cultivation: shared and common, Myriad Streams Return to Origin, nourishing all things, unity of heaven and man. Of course, later cultivators took a crooked path and failed to comprehend its mysteries. Thus, this so-called shared and common cultivation became a method where the former alone enjoyed all the benefits."
"What a pity. This was originally a technique capable of cultivating one into an immortal. The National Teacher of Chang’an, your master, merely learned its dregs," the Little Fox sighed.
"Workshop Master, you have a way?" Xiao Bai asked, her emotions slightly stirred.
"I do… but I can’t help you. Besides, your cultivation is too low, so you wouldn’t be able to use it anyway," the Baoqing Workshop Master said.
"Workshop Master, please tell us. We will certainly remember this favor," Xiao Bai said sincerely.
"Our Baoqing Workshop conducts business through fair exchange. We never cheat the young or the old. But since you little white snake have such a connection with me, I can make an exception and tell you," the Baoqing Workshop Master said.
The Little Fox had an incredibly discerning eye. She saw Immortal Opportunity in Xiao Bai. This snake demon had the aptitude to become an immortal, though her path would be arduous and calamity lay upon her.
"Thank you, Workshop Master." Xiao Bai clasped her hands and bowed.
"It’s actually not that complicated. The one who tied the knot must untie it. If you obtain the upper volume of the Taiyin True Art, you will naturally be able to resist the Snake Mother’s connection and interference," the Baoqing Workshop Master said.
"Then wouldn’t that mean, Xiao Bai, we still have to assassinate the National Teacher?" Xiao Qing could not help asking.
"Hehe, the two of you combined only have around two hundred years of cultivation. The Taiyin Taoist may not be much of an expert, but killing you would be as easy as killing chicks," the Baoqing Workshop Master mocked.
"Don’t look down on us!" Xiao Qing glared at her.
"Look down on you? Don’t think that transforming into human form makes you human. You are still far from truly cultivating into humans," the Baoqing Workshop Master sneered.
"Oh, right. If you don’t want the Snake Mother to devour your Magical Power someday and leave you without cultivation, you’d best stay at least a thousand li away from her. At such a great distance, she won’t be able to drain you."
After leaving behind those words, the Baoqing Workshop Master vanished.
"That hateful fox. Xiao Bai, what exactly is her background? She’s so arrogant," Xiao Qing said.
Xiao Bai thought for a moment before replying, "This Workshop Master has an extraordinary background. Very few people know her true identity.
"And I happen to know a little."
"Quick, tell me, Xiao Bai." Xiao Qing’s eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Xiao Qing, do you remember the demon consort Da Ji from the Shang Dynasty?" Xiao Bai whispered.
"Of course I do! She’s an idol! Single-handedly throwing the world into chaos—tsk, tsk, tsk." Xiao Qing was extremely excited, then suddenly realized something and blurted out, "Don’t tell me you mean that Little Fox is Da Ji!!"
Xiao Bai nodded.
"Damn, wasn’t she said to have been beheaded by Jiang Taigong? She’s actually still alive?" Xiao Qing exclaimed.
"Da Ji is a nine-tailed fox demon, so naturally she has nine lives. Besides, they are all ancient cultivators. Who doesn’t have some trump card tucked away to save their life?" Xiao Bai said.
"But why does she look so small?" Xiao Qing asked.
"Perhaps she was seriously injured back then, and less than one-tenth of her Magical Power remains. But that has nothing to do with us. Our most urgent task is to leave the area around Chang’an City," Xiao Bai said.
"Alright."
When Xiao Qing thought about how the Snake Mother might eat them and devour their Magical Power, her scalp went numb. She did not feel safe at all.
The two sisters vanished, while the Little Fox who had supposedly left—Da Ji—appeared once again.
The seductive smile on Da Ji’s face disappeared, replaced by a rare expression of serious contemplation.
How did that little white snake know her origins? She had concealed her identity for so many years. Her enemies from back then all believed she was dead, yet now a snake demon with barely over a hundred years of cultivation had exposed her identity. It was absurd.
Could there be an expert behind her? But if there were, they would not have come here seeking her advice.
"Interesting, interesting. Hehe."
Given Da Ji’s nature and way of thinking, if her identity had been exposed, she would normally kill to silence the witnesses immediately.
But those two were two snake demons so weak they could hardly be weaker. In a sense, they could be considered members of the same clan. That was why Su Da Ji did not develop any killing intent.
Moreover, she could sense that those two little snakes shared an extraordinary karmic connection with her, so she allowed the green and white snakes to leave.
"I hope that the next time we meet, you can bring me some surprises."
A massive fox phantom appeared behind Da Ji. Nine enormous tails danced wildly through the shadows!
In the Super God Universe, over in Juxia City.
Xu Yi, Di Lena, Qiang Wei, and Qi Lin were preparing to head to Lieyang Star together to attend Di Lena’s formal coronation ceremony.
Pan Zhen had brought Blazing Sun’s Heavenly Dao Spaceship to the outskirts of Earth Star to welcome them aboard.
Upon entering the Heavenly Dao Spaceship, they found Pan Zhen, Blazing Sun’s Four Guardians, and Blazing Sun soldiers clad in golden armor standing in two rows. Their gazes were reverent, and their presence was extraordinary.
"Greetings, Empress Leina."
Pan Zhen, the Blazing Sun guardians, and the soldiers all clasped their hands and bowed.
"At ease, my dear ministers. This goddess is about to be crowned, so naturally I should celebrate with the people. There’s no need for such tedious formalities." Di Lena waved her hand, though the smile on her face could not be hidden. She was thrilled beyond measure.
Pan Zhen signaled with his eyes, and the welcoming soldiers all departed, leaving only the Four Guardians behind.
"Great God Xu Yi, welcome. Your presence is Blazing Sun’s honor." Pan Zhen walked over, his gaze fervent.
"Just call me Xu Yi. ‘Great God’ sounds strange," Xu Yi said.
"That will not do. How could we directly address you by name? How about calling you Sir?" Pan Zhen asked.
"That works," Xu Yi said.
"Sir, I have prepared Blazing Sun’s finest tea and pastries. Please enjoy them," Pan Zhen said enthusiastically.
"Thank you for the trouble," Xu Yi said.
"Wu Zhao, go prepare them quickly," Pan Zhen prompted.
"Yes, Grand Tutor." Wu Zhao immediately left and instructed the attendants to prepare a banquet.
The group began touring the Heavenly Dao Spaceship, observing Lieyang Star’s advanced technology. Sun-like totem symbols could be seen everywhere.
The Heavenly Dao Star System was countless light-years away from Earth Star. Naturally, they could not travel to Lieyang Star simply by flying. Instead, they used Blazing Sun’s Interstellar Wormholes and teleportation arrays scattered throughout the Universe to continuously pass through space.
In an antique-style corridor, Xu Yi looked at the paintings hanging on the walls while Pan Zhen patiently explained their origins.
"Leina, isn’t Grand Tutor Pan Zhen quite amiable? Why do you make him sound like some stubborn old fossil?" Xu Yi asked.
Pan Zhen’s expression shifted slightly. He smiled politely and explained, "The goddess is young and mischievous."
Di Lena curled her lips and said irritably, "Isn’t it obvious? Xu Yi, you’re a big shot. Pan Zhen is sucking up to you, alright? He’s acting like you’re the king of Lieyang Star and I was just a free gift that came with a phone recharge."
"Sucking up?" Xu Yi fell silent.
"Leina, your wording is far too crude," Pan Zhen could not help saying.
"Cough, cough." Qiang Wei and Qi Lin coughed. They were not laughing—unless they could not hold it in.
"How is this sucking up? This is my admiration and reverence for Sir. It is also Blazing Sun’s way of treating guests," Pan Zhen explained solemnly.
"Tch!" Leina rolled her eyes at him.
"Pan Zhen is right, Leina. Your wording really is crude. You need to learn more elegant ways of speaking," Xu Yi said.
"Alright then, Sir!" Leina did not argue and mimicked Pan Zhen’s tone.
"…" Pan Zhen.
"Grand Tutor Pan Zhen, go get some rest. We can look around on our own from here," Xu Yi said.
"Very well, Sir. Should you need anything, Pan will be at your service at any time," Pan Zhen said.
"Mm." Xu Yi nodded.
After Pan Zhen left, Di Lena could not help launching into a furious rant. She said bluntly, "Did you see Old Pan’s face? In front of Xu Yi, this goddess has absolutely no status at all.
"Ever since I was little, Old Pan has never been as polite and humble as he was today."
As Leina’s guardian and Blazing Sun’s Grand Tutor, Pan Zhen stood above everyone save one. He carried immense official authority, acted decisively and arbitrarily, and sometimes even ignored Leina’s words.
However, Pan Zhen truly devoted himself to the imperial Di family. It was simply that his methods differed greatly from Leina’s.
Though ruler and minister did not get along, they still shared the same goal.
"Really? At least today, he seemed pretty alright," Qi Lin said.
"Yeah." Qiang Wei agreed.
"Don’t be fooled by appearances. Old Pan is deeply calculating," Di Lena hurriedly said.
"Then what is his purpose in doing this?" Qi Lin asked curiously.
Hearing that, Di Lena revealed a shocked expression. "Come on, Qi Lin, why are you so innocent too? What else could it be? Naturally, he wants to fleece Xu Yi. You saw it yourselves—Angel and Demon civilization have both taken off, so Pan Zhen naturally can’t let Blazing Sun fall behind.
"Pan Zhen knows it’s all because of Xu Yi, so naturally he’s sucking up to Xu Yi."
"Leina, can you stop saying ‘sucking up’? Don’t you think that phrase is incredibly vulgar?" Xu Yi said.
"…" Di Lena.
"It really is too crude, Leina," Qi Lin said.
"Even if Pan Zhen wants to fleece him, the teacher still has to be willing to give," Qiang Wei said.
"Qiang Wei, that’s exactly the problem! I’m not even letting him do this, and this goddess feels so embarrassed. It’s like the friendship between the three of us has changed, with everything developing toward profit," Di Lena said.
"So, Xu Yi, when are you going to give me a cheat?"
Di Lena looked at Xu Yi expectantly.
"There’s no hurry. We’ll discuss it later. Let’s attend your coronation ceremony first," Xu Yi said.
"Sigh, if I’d known, I would’ve cultivated the Devouring Method back then." Di Lena sounded resentful.
"Didn’t you look down on that technique back then? Now you want to learn it? Heh," Qiang Wei said irritably.
"Sigh, the past is too painful to revisit. I was young, and my horizons were narrow," Di Lena said helplessly.
The Heavenly Dao Spaceship slowly traveled through the Universe. Pan Zhen had prepared Blazing Sun delicacies, pastries, and specialty dishes.
To be honest, they really did not inspire much appetite. Calling Blazing Sun a culinary wasteland would not be an exaggeration—the food looked dry and shriveled.
The fruit, however, was quite good: sweet and juicy.
Whoosh! Upon reaching the stellar wormhole bridge, the Heavenly Dao Spaceship activated interstellar travel. In an instant, it transformed into a streak of aurora and plunged into a starry wormhole.
