Sheep Eat Sheep, White Snake Origin

Sheep Eat Sheep, White Snake Origin: Wolf Castle.

Pleasant Goat, Fervent Goat, and Lazy Goat waited for quite a while, but Gray Wolf never returned. Meanwhile, the aroma of the lamb stew in the iron pot grew more delicious with time.

For little sheep who had always eaten vegetarian food, it was undoubtedly an ultimate temptation.

"Pleasant Goat, how much longer are we waiting?" Lazy Goat could not help asking. Drool had pooled all over the ground beneath him, and he was practically staring himself blind.

"Yeah, Gray Wolf must have gone off to do something," Fervent Goat said.

"Mm, in that case, let’s go take a look." Pleasant Goat nodded.

He had mainly been worried that Gray Wolf was plotting some kind of scheme. Now, it seemed he had overthought it.

So they left the bushes and slowly approached the entrance to Wolf Castle. The iron pot sat in the middle of the spacious hall just inside the doorway.

The closer they got, the richer the aroma became. The little sheep were utterly drawn in by the scent, their eyes fixed straight on the iron pot before them.

"Pleasant Goat, what is Gray Wolf cooking? Why does it smell so good?" Beauty Goat asked.

"Yeah, doesn’t Gray Wolf always eat fruit salad?" Lazy Goat said.

"Could Gray Wolf have caught a little sheep from some branch of the sheep clan?" Fervent Goat said, letting his imagination run wild.

That immediately gave Beauty Goat a fright. Her face turned pale as she puffed up her cheeks and said angrily, "Fervent Goat, you’re awful. How could that possibly be a little sheep?"

"With Gray Wolf’s intelligence and carelessness, there’s no way he could catch a sheep. Besides, the smell doesn’t match. It doesn’t smell gamey," Pleasant Goat said.

"That’s true." Fervent Goat scratched his head.

"Pleasant Goat, you’re so smart." Beauty Goat praised him.

The little sheep slowly lifted the lid of the iron pot. Inside was a pot of crystal-clear, dazzlingly radiant broth, mixed with plenty of fresh vegetables and unknown meat that looked tender and plump.

"What kind of meat is this?" Beauty Goat asked.

Although the sheep of Green Green Grassland ate vegetarian food, they were not completely vegetarian. It was like an anthropomorphic human world, where food was much the same as that of humans. Cola, fried chicken, and hamburgers all existed.

As long as it was not lamb, it was fine.

"Maybe bird meat, or perhaps rabbit," Pleasant Goat guessed.

"Wow, rabbits are so cute. That awful Gray Wolf, why did he have to catch little bunnies?" Beauty Goat said.

"Then don’t eat it later," Lazy Goat said.

"Lazy Goat, you have no manners." Beauty Goat puffed out her cheeks, looking very angry.

"To hell with you, Beauty Goat!" Lazy Goat cursed, showing her no indulgence at all.

"Lazy Goat, you!" Beauty Goat’s eyes reddened.

"Lazy Goat, you made Beauty Goat cry. A real man should yield to girls," Pleasant Goat said.

"Lazy Goat, apologize to Beauty Goat right now, or I’ll beat you flat." Fervent Goat rolled up his sleeves, revealing his strong muscular arms.

"Beauty Goat, I’m sorry." Lazy Goat immediately gave in without the slightest hesitation.

After that, the little sheep began sampling Gray Wolf’s delicious clear-braised lamb stew for him.

It had to be said that Gray Wolf’s cooking was excellent. The broth alone made the little sheep unable to stop, while the lamb that had long since been boiled tender melted in their mouths. Even Beauty Goat, who usually dieted to lose weight, wolfed down two huge bowls, leaving her little belly stuffed tight.

Lazy Goat casually said, "Beauty Goat, this might be a little rabbit. How could you bear to eat it?"

"…" Beauty Goat.

"Hahaha." Pleasant Goat could not hold back his laughter.

"Lazy Goat, are you picking a fight?" Fervent Goat was displeased again.

"Fervent Goat, you damned simp," Lazy Goat muttered.

Half an hour later, Gray Wolf returned with his wife Hong Tai Lang. The moment they entered, they saw several little sheep sitting in their home, and for a moment Gray Wolf thought he was hallucinating.

Driven by a wolf’s instincts, Gray Wolf prepared to catch the sheep. But when he remembered that he could never catch sheep anyway, and would probably end up being toyed with, he hesitated. Besides, these little sheep would be needed in many later plots.

Seeing her husband standing there stupidly, Hong Tai Lang picked up a frying pan and smacked Gray Wolf with it. She angrily said, "The little sheep are right in our home! Husband, what are you standing around for? Hurry up and catch them!"

When Pleasant Goat, Lazy Goat, and the others noticed the Gray Wolf couple had returned, they jumped to their feet in fright, their expressions tense.

"Honey, don’t get angry. Be careful not to upset the baby and hurt our child. There’s still plenty of lamb, so there’s no rush to catch sheep today." Gray Wolf leaned close to Hong Tai Lang’s ear and spoke quietly, casually pressing down the bump that had just risen on his head.

"?" Hong Tai Lang looked suspiciously at Gray Wolf. Although she dearly wanted to curse him out, she held herself back.

"Fine. I’m in a good mood today, so I’ll listen to you." Hong Tai Lang said haughtily.

Gray Wolf was extremely happy. He waved at the little sheep and said, "Hello, little sheep."

"Hello, Mr. Gray Wolf. We ate your hot pot. You’re not going to be angry, are you?" Lazy Goat replied.

"…" Pleasant Goat.

"Hahaha, of course I’m not angry. As neighbors in Green Green Grassland, we should help each other." Gray Wolf put on the appearance of a perfect gentleman, giving off an exceptionally friendly impression.

"Gray Wolf, aren’t you plotting something?" Pleasant Goat said.

"Pleasant Goat, if I had some scheme, would I still be standing here talking to you?" Gray Wolf said.

Pleasant Goat, Fervent Goat, and Lazy Goat exchanged glances. Beauty Goat stood behind them, looking somewhat flustered.

"Since you’re here, eat with us," Gray Wolf said.

"That doesn’t seem right," Pleasant Goat said skeptically. Gray Wolf was acting very strangely today. Why was he so easy to talk to?

"It’s perfectly right, perfectly right," Gray Wolf said.

"Mr. Gray Wolf, you really are a good wolf." Lazy Goat said happily.

"Thank you for the compliment, Lazy Goat. You really are a good child. You’re my favorite." Gray Wolf smiled.

Then the two wolves and four sheep sat around the large pot and began enjoying the delicious food.

Hong Tai Lang had not eaten lamb in a long time. The moment she caught the scent, her eyes lit up, and she could not help saying, "Husband, this is…"

Gray Wolf immediately covered Hong Tai Lang’s mouth and whispered, "Honey, don’t say it."

Hong Tai Lang was very smart and immediately understood Gray Wolf’s intention, so she said nothing more. As long as there was lamb to eat, that was enough.

Besides, this lamb was truly delicious, far tastier than the lamb at her parents’ home.

These days, sheep had grown smarter and were hard to catch. The sheep around Hong Tai Lang’s family home were mostly old, with meat that was tough, dry, and flavorless.

Pleasant Goat, Fervent Goat, and Lazy Goat finally relaxed. Gray Wolf truly was not going after them, and he was even generously treating them. They felt a little embarrassed about playing pranks on him now.

"Gray Wolf, we won’t tease you anymore in the future," Pleasant Goat said.

"Right." Fervent Goat nodded.

"It’s fine. Actually, I was in the wrong sometimes before too," Gray Wolf replied.

"Mr. Gray Wolf, is there any more? This pot is almost finished," Lazy Goat said.

"Yes, there’s plenty. Eat as much as you want." Gray Wolf grinned.

Then he took a four-legged sheep that had already been washed clean from the refrigerator and began slicing it.

Lazy Goat, Pleasant Goat, and Fervent Goat could not help gathering around to watch.

When they saw the four-legged sheep, the little sheep found it familiar. It felt as though they had seen it somewhere before, yet they definitely had not. They felt an indescribable sense of closeness toward it.

"Mr. Gray Wolf, what kind of animal is this?" Lazy Goat asked.

"A sheep? You don’t recognize it?" Gray Wolf pretended not to understand.

"?? A sheep!" The little sheep were shocked.

"That’s not right, Gray Wolf. How does it have four legs? We only have two," Fervent Goat said.

"Mr. Gray Wolf must be joking," Lazy Goat said.

Pleasant Goat said nothing, but his CPU was running at high speed.

"If you lie down, won’t you have four legs?" Gray Wolf said seriously.

"??" Fervent Goat.

"!!" Lazy Goat.

"?!" Pleasant Goat.

"Ah!" Beauty Goat cried out, her face pale.

"This must be fake. Gray Wolf must be joking with us," Pleasant Goat said.

"I never joke. This is a four-legged sheep. If you don’t believe me, bite yourself, then bite this raw meat and compare them," Gray Wolf said earnestly.

As soon as he finished speaking, Lazy Goat bit himself, then eagerly bit into the four-legged sheep. That pure lamb flavor surged through his mouth and nose into his brain, absorbed and fed back by his neurons.

A tear of regret slipped from the corner of his eye. Lazy Goat cried, "Mr. Gray Wolf, you were actually serious… Waaaaah!"

"Hahahahaha!" Gray Wolf doubled over laughing.

"Blegh." Pleasant Goat, Fervent Goat, and Beauty Goat all threw up together.

"Don’t throw up, little sheep. This is a four-legged sheep, while you’re two-legged sheep. You’re not the same species," Gray Wolf hurriedly added.

"Bad Gray Wolf! What four-legged sheep? This obviously tastes like lamb!" Lazy Goat shouted.

Because the lamb had been stewed fiercely over a blazing fire in the iron pot, its original gamey smell had mostly cooked away, so the little sheep had not recognized it at first.

Besides, even if they found lamb familiar, they would never have connected it to actual lamb.

"Really. Four-legged sheep can’t talk, but you can. And you walk upright. You’re completely different," Gray Wolf patiently explained.

However, Pleasant Goat, Lazy Goat, and the others could no longer listen. They ran straight out of Wolf Castle.

Gray Wolf did not stop them, nor could he be bothered to catch the little sheep.

Hong Tai Lang walked over and asked, "Husband, you’re just letting them leave like that?"

"Let them go. Honey, we won’t lack lamb in our home from now on." Gray Wolf opened the refrigerator. Hong Tai Lang looked inside, and her eyes widened. There were actually many more delicious little sheep inside.

"Husband, you’re amazing. You actually caught so many little sheep." Hong Tai Lang said, her eyes full of admiration as she became even gentler.

Gray Wolf explained, "I didn’t catch these little sheep, honey. I met an immortal, and he gave me all these little sheep."

Gray Wolf did not know how else to explain it, so he simply introduced the concept of an "immortal."

"Really? Did you ask the immortal whether I’m carrying a boy or a girl?" Hong Tai Lang asked.

"I did. It’s a boy, and he’s very cute. He’ll be as smart as me and as beautiful as you, honey," Gray Wolf said.

"Mm-hm." Hong Tai Lang was very pleased to hear that.

By the river, the little sheep ran over and hurriedly rinsed their mouths with river water. Gray Wolf had truly been too despicable, actually making them eat lamb when they were sheep themselves.

"That awful Gray Wolf is too horrible." Beauty Goat said, her face pale.

"Beauty Goat, I’ll go teach Gray Wolf a lesson for you," Fervent Goat said.

"You? Can you beat Gray Wolf? Fervent Goat, don’t end up needing Pleasant Goat to save you again," Beauty Goat said.

"…" Fervent Goat.

"Beauty Goat, that proves Fervent Goat is very brave. Courage is very important," Pleasant Goat said.

Upon hearing that, Fervent Goat immediately looked at Beauty Goat expectantly.

Yet Beauty Goat bluntly said, "That’s recklessness, not wisdom."

"…"

Fervent Goat turned to stone on the spot again, though he quickly recovered.

At least Beauty Goat was willing to talk about him. That was enough. It meant he still held some weight in her heart.

"Pleasant Goat, was what we ate really lamb?" Lazy Goat asked. Now that he had calmed down, the hot pot Gray Wolf made had actually tasted quite good.

"Not necessarily. Maybe Gray Wolf was just trying to scare us," Pleasant Goat said.

"But the taste was really convincing," Lazy Goat said.

Pleasant Goat rested his chin on his hand and said, "Maybe Gray Wolf came up with some kind of black technology again. Anyway, it wouldn’t be strange for that guy to invent any sort of technology."

"That’s true. If Gray Wolf really had bad intentions, how could we have left Wolf Castle so easily?" Lazy Goat said.

"Then are we still eating it?" Fervent Goat asked.

"Let’s go back for today. It’s already late. If we return too late, Village Chief will lecture us again," Pleasant Goat said.

"Fine." Fervent Goat nodded.

Lazy Goat reluctantly looked back toward Wolf Castle. The taste of that "lamb" had truly haunted him.

In the White Snake Plane, near a river in the direction of Chang’an City.

Xiao Bai stood beside the water, worry written across her face. Soon, a sound came from behind her. A girl clad entirely in azure scale armor slithered down from a tree. An azure tail could be seen coiled around the trunk, full of life.

This was Xiao Bai’s younger sister, Xiao Qing.

Xiao Bai looked gentle as water, while Xiao Qing was wild, swift and decisive, with a volatile temper.

"Xiao Bai, why did you call me out? Didn’t Master tell you to assassinate the National Teacher?" Xiao Qing asked.

Although Xiao Bai was her older sister, Xiao Qing still liked calling her Xiao Bai.

Thinking about what was about to happen in her world, Xiao Bai did not know how to begin. "Xiao Qing, I want to temporarily cancel the assassination of the National Teacher."

Xiao Qing was shocked. "Xiao Bai, that’s Master’s order. Why are you canceling the assassination of the National Teacher? Could it be that you can’t bear to do it?

Do you know how many snake clan lives that Taiyin Taoist has harmed?"

In order to increase his power, the National Teacher had cultivated the Taiyin True Art.

The Taiyin True Art was a yin-attributed cultivation art that required the support of extreme yin power. The snake clan were naturally demons of extreme yin power, making them the most suitable for devouring and refining.

Many snake catchers had even appeared throughout the Great Tang, specializing in catching snakes in the mountains and wilderness in exchange for silver.

Thus, the snake clan near Chang’an City deeply hated humans.

Xiao Bai understood Xiao Qing’s temperament and slowly said, "I’m not saying we won’t kill the National Teacher. But Xiao Qing, do you really trust Master?"

"What do you mean?" Although Xiao Qing had a fierce temper, she was not stupid.

"Shared and possessed, Myriad Streams Return to Origin! This is the cultivation art Master taught us. Xiao Qing, don’t you think this art is far too strange?" Xiao Bai said.
