Formidable Strength
"This doesn’t feel any different from our previous battles. I was worried for nothing."
Electro fired the coin in front of him. With a boom, a group of Ravagers was blasted away. Most died on the spot, while the few remaining survivors wailed endlessly on the ground.
Tony shouted, "Electro, prioritize the large weapons."
"Understood."
Electro nodded. Ivan shouted, "Sissy, let’s see who kills more Ravagers."
"Think I’m afraid of you?"
Tony snorted and swept his lasers sideways, cutting more than a dozen Ravagers cleanly in half at the waist.
Not to be outdone, Ivan transformed his two whips into Energy Lightning Cannons and fired repeatedly. Ravagers were killed and wounded in droves, their cries of agony unending.
The captain of the second flagship watched the slaughter on the screen and roared, "Damn it! Deploy the heavy weapons and blast them to death!"
"Blast them to death!"
The Ravagers roared in fury. After roaming the universe for so many years, they had never suffered such a crushing loss. They deployed advanced equipment such as Power Armor and small combat robots.
The Super Heroes sneered. Human Torch’s flames raged, Hulk and War Abomination were unstoppable, and Tony, Ivan, Electro, and the others unleashed overwhelming firepower. Whether it was Power Armor or small combat robots, all of it was blown apart.
The Ravagers were utterly bewildered. Where had these monsters come from? They were terrifying. Earth’s overall strength was indeed inferior to that of extraterrestrial civilizations, but Earth’s Super Heroes could still be considered formidable even in the wider universe.
If it had been a warship bombardment, the Super Heroes truly would have had no answer. But in close-quarters combat like this, the Super Heroes had never feared anyone.
While Tony and the others drew the Ravagers’ attention, the invisible Natasha, Susan, and Absorbing Man, who had touched invisible material, quietly made their way toward the command room.
Natasha instructed, "Susan, once we’re inside the command room, seal the door. Absorbing Man and I will deal with the captain and force them to surrender."
"No problem. Come to think of it, this isn’t much different from our usual battles, is it?"
"It really isn’t. Gordon’s teleportation is a god-tier ability no matter where you are."
Natasha smiled. Thinking of Gamora’s title as the "Most Dangerous Woman in the Universe," her heart burned with ambition. I want that title. At the same time, in the aircraft bay of the fourth flagship, Tetanus appeared out of thin air with Skye and the other Inhumans.
"Enemy attack!"
The Ravagers immediately shouted and aimed their Energy Guns at the Inhumans.
Ili promptly raised a defensive shield. The Asian Inhuman Giyera lifted a hand, and more than a dozen gun-wielding Ravagers rose into the air before slamming into the ceiling with a series of bangs.
At the same time, Laser Eye Inhuman removed his glasses, whipped his head around, and swept lasers across the area. Three Ravagers were sliced in half at once.
"How bloody."
The Inhuman wearing Toad Glasses muttered disdainfully. He took off his glasses and glared at the Ravagers. Every Ravager caught in his gaze collapsed uncontrollably to the ground—their bodies were paralyzed.
"What use is that? It’s not like they die."
Laser Eye Inhuman snorted dismissively. As Duplication Alisa created duplicates, she said, "Stop bickering. We can’t be slower than those Super Heroes."
As Bubble Inhuman spat bubbles, he complained, "Aren’t you a Super Hero too?"
"Yes, and I’m incredibly popular. Blood God is planning to make a solo movie for me."
Alisa smiled proudly and raised her Flame Energy Gun, firing in every direction—the energy source was herself.
"Then you’d better repay Blood God properly."
Crystal spread her hands, unleashing roaring flames and lightning that slaughtered large numbers of Ravagers.
At that moment, more Ravagers arrived to reinforce them, bringing plenty of heavy weapons and robots.
"I wish I could be a Super Hero like you."
Qiao Yi smiled bitterly and raised a hand toward the heavy weapons and robots. In an instant, all those metal objects melted away, sending the Ravagers fleeing in terror.
"You’d better not, Qiao Yi. You’re too dangerous just walking down the street."
Queen Medusa said with a bitter smile as she controlled her hair to attack the Ravagers.
"Yeah. Cars, steel bars—I could cause a massive disaster by accident. Heh, when I awakened, more than a hundred S.W.O.R.D. agents came to my house and surrounded me. I was scared half to death."
Qiao Yi pointed toward an iron staircase ahead. The staircase melted immediately, and a group of Ravagers screamed as they fell.
Everyone burst into laughter. Skye, who had kept both hands pressed against the ground, said, "You’re better than me. The moment I awakened, I caused an earthquake. All right, it’s about to shake. Everyone, get ready."
Everyone hurriedly grabbed onto nearby objects. The next moment, the entire flagship shook violently. Countless machines exploded with thunderous booms, while countless Ravagers slammed into walls or were thrown to the ground.
With that single attack, the fourth flagship’s combat power was reduced by at least half.
Qiao Yi clicked her tongue. "You’re definitely much more dangerous than I am. I heard you have a title: Earth Destroyer?"
"For now, she’s only the Attilan Destroyer. Quite a few Inhumans who studied law are planning to sue her for compensation."
Queen Medusa smiled. After more than half a year together, her relationship with Skye had improved considerably.
"Seriously? Don’t scare me. I’m broke as hell. I’ve even been working part-time as a tutor at Mr. Wang’s house lately."
Skye stared wide-eyed. The Queen smiled. "Don’t worry, Black Bolt rejected all of them. Besides, your so-called tutoring is really just going over there to play games with them, isn’t it?"
"Teaching through entertainment, teaching through entertainment."
Skye chuckled and aimed her hands at several Ravagers. She released a shockwave, and all the Ravagers exploded from the inside.
"Failed again. I was actually trying to shatter their hearts."
Skye sighed. "Mr. Wang is still amazing. He can use eggs like ping-pong balls. I need to learn from him properly."
Alisa leaped into the air and punched straight through a Ravager over three meters tall. Then she said, "Don’t you think this is too easy? We even have time to joke around."
"It really is easier than expected. Aliens aren’t much after all."
The Inhumans nodded one after another. Toad Glasses Inhuman said, "So we’re this strong. No wonder Blood God has been pushing for the interstellar era. We’re fully qualified to establish ourselves in the universe."
"Exactly."
Everyone agreed deeply. At that moment, a voice sounded beside Medusa’s ear. "Queen, I’ve brought Pain Girl to the command room entrance."
"Good. Take Pain Girl inside, absorb the captain’s pain, and turn him into a puppet."
Medusa nodded and said, "Keep an eye on Pain Girl. Don’t let her cause trouble."
Pain Girl was the girl who had once controlled Tony. She could absorb other people’s emotions and control them. The one speaking with Medusa was an Invisibility Wall-Walking Inhuman.
"She’s changed for the better."
The Invisibility Wall-Walking Inhuman smiled. Soon, a young girl’s clear voice rang out from the command room. "Give me your pain."
Let us turn our attention back to the Blood God. Under Korath’s command, the Blood God’s energy cannons repeatedly struck the third flagship. The third flagship returned fire with its own energy cannons while opening its hatches and deploying large numbers of Ravager fighters to counterattack.
"They clearly never attended a proper academy. Destroy all their energy cannons."
Korath looked disdainful. Steve could not help laughing. It seemed that, no matter the planet, regular armies always looked down on irregular forces.
It was worth mentioning that Steve, Frank, and Barton had been following Korath around and silently learning from him. They would be responsible for commanding warships in the future.
"So what if we never attended a proper academy? With this many Ravager fighters charging at you, can you stop them?"
Rocket sneered unhappily. Clearly, he had never attended a proper academy either.
Korath ignored Rocket entirely and ordered, "Deploy the Dauntless Legion."
Following Korath’s command, exits on the Blood God opened one after another. Large numbers of fully enclosed Space Motorcycles flew out, attacking as they charged at full speed toward the Ravager fighters.
Gamora stared in astonishment. "Chitauri Space Motorcycles?"
"No. This is Blood God’s Dauntless Legion."
Rocket scoffed. "Those Space Motorcycles might be useful for wars inside a planet, but in space battles, they’re no different from cannon fodder. They’re too fragile."
"It doesn’t matter. All I need is their mobility."
Wang Bert smiled.
"These rookies are here to die. Let’s grant their wish."
Seeing the Dauntless Legion, the Ravagers laughed scornfully and unleashed Energy Guns and machine guns in a mad barrage.
Although the Dauntless Legion desperately evaded, quite a few were struck and exploded in midair. The Ravagers grew even more excited and kept firing.
Soon, the Dauntless Legion reached the Ravager fighters. Red lights flared across their bodies as they rammed the Ravager fighters without regard for their lives. Then they exploded with thunderous booms, perishing together with the fighters.
In only a few minutes, a huge portion of the Ravagers’ fighters had been wiped out.
"These people are insane."
Rocket and the Ravagers shouted in horror at the same time. They had never seen such an army or such tactics.
"Don’t be so shocked. They’re merely biohumans. They don’t possess real lives."
Gamora said.
"More accurately, they’re biogenetic cloned High-Temperature People."
Wang Bert said, "Including the Space Motorcycle, each costs roughly a few hundred thousand dollars. They’re not particularly valuable."
Disposable items naturally would not be made with especially good materials.
As Wang Bert spoke, another batch of Space Motorcycles flew out and charged toward the Ravager fighters. The Ravagers were frightened and hurriedly dodged.
It was not that the Ravagers were cowardly. Their opponents were simply too vicious.
Charlie slammed his fist against the control panel. Who exactly were these people? How could they be this powerful?
Yes, poor Charlie still had no idea that the Earth Federation was fighting him.
Watching the Ravager fighters outside get beaten into disarray, Gamora could not help sighing. "It seems I underestimated the strength of your Earth."
"The tough fear the reckless."
Rocket muttered. Then he thought of something and asked Wang Bert, "Are these biogenetic cloned High-Temperature People for sale?"
Wang Bert pointed toward the Wakandan fighters and smiled at Rocket. "The technology over there is more suitable for you."
Let us rewind time a little. The six permanent members were dealing with the fifth flagship. Taking advantage of surprise, the six escort ships and the Revenge repeatedly scored hits, blasting the fifth flagship until it exploded again and again.
The fifth flagship’s captain was furious. While returning fire, he deployed large numbers of Ravager fighters just like the third flagship had.
"We’ve been waiting for you. Shuri, don’t let your technology fail us."
Black Panther said. Shuri snorted. "Underestimating me? I’m a genius girl who plans to surpass Tony Stark. Phantom Legion, deploy."
"Yes, Princess."
The Wakandan warriors nodded in unison, then put on their helmets and lay down inside the control pods.
Immediately afterward, large numbers of unmanned aircraft flew out from the Revenge to meet the Ravager fighters.
The Phantom Legion was a remotely controlled legion. With Shuri’s technology, there was no delay, making it identical to piloting in person. The only problem was the limited range. Shuri was working to overcome quantum transmission technology. Once she succeeded, the Phantom Legion would become the Earth Federation’s trump card.
Very soon, the Phantom Legion met the Ravager fighters head-on. Both sides traded blows and continuously fired energy attacks. In a short time, large numbers of fighters were destroyed.
Overall, the Phantom Legion suffered greater losses. After all, the Wakandan warriors had no previous experience with space combat. Fortunately, they were remotely controlling the fighters. Whenever one fighter was destroyed, they immediately connected to another and returned to battle.
At the same time, the other five nations also deployed their specially developed fighters and weapons. America even sent out Drone Armor and War Lizards. Both sides fought fiercely, and space was soon filled with corpses and fighter wreckage.
"A remotely controlled legion?"
Hearing Wang Bert’s voice, Rocket looked toward the Revenge, and his eyes immediately lit up. This was indeed more suitable for him than biogenetic cloned High-Temperature People.
Rocket could not help asking, "How much?"
"This is high technology. It’s quite valuable."
Wang Bert said with a smile. Rocket clutched the Vibranium he had only just received and had not even had time to enjoy, his face full of displeasure. This time, he was going to be fleeced.
At that moment, the communicator rang. "Calling Director. The Super Hero team has gained control of the situation. The battle is expected to end in five minutes."
"Calling Director. The Inhumans team has taken control of the Ravager captain. We’re wrapping things up, we’re wrapping things up."
Tony’s and Medusa’s reports sounded one after another. Tony shouted unhappily, "The Inhumans are almost done already. Let’s speed up."
"Everything is going smoothly."
Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. Gamora and the other two were so shocked that their jaws nearly dropped. This Earth Federation was far too strong. How long had it been? They had already taken down two flagships?
No, three. The Ravagers’ first flagship had been destroyed by a single High Note at the very beginning.
Was this really the primitive Earth they had imagined?
Steve instructed, "Korath, Black Panther, let’s speed things up on our side too. We can’t fall too far behind them."
"Understood."
Korath and Black Panther both nodded. Korath pressed a button, and three Leviathan Bio-Beasts flew out from the warship, leading large numbers of biological cannon fodder toward the Ravager fighters.
Already at a disadvantage, the Ravager fighters completely collapsed upon seeing the Leviathan Bio-Beasts and fled backward in every direction.
Korath sneered. "This is the difference between irregular forces and regular armies. Irregular forces can only fight when things are going their way. Once they fall behind, they collapse easily."
Though Rocket was displeased, he had to admit Korath was right. Irregular forces were, in the end, still irregular forces.
Wang Bert transmitted all these battle reports to S.W.O.R.D. headquarters on Earth, then asked, "With Earth’s strength, we can establish ourselves in the universe. Do you really still want to remain cooped up on Earth, fighting desperately over petty interests?"
President Ellis added meaningfully, "The universe is vast. Earth is small."
