What was he doing?

After seeing Richard buy gasoline at a gas station and drive toward the manor, Ross and Shane, who had been sent to follow him, both wore puzzled expressions.

Although Luther had told them to follow Richard, he had not told them that Richard had already been expelled from the organization.

Luther and the others were indeed ungrateful, but they still cared about appearances.

Richard’s father had just been arrested, and they had voted to drive Richard out. No matter how they put it, that would sound bad.

"Should we contact Luther?"

Richard asked Ross in return.
