Godzilla’s Ugly-Cute Look Made It Perfect as a Pet
The rescue airship passed through the atmosphere and flew toward the Aratrum in orbit.
The front half of the Aratrum was a massive rectangular structure.
Its rear half consisted of circular, coaxially arranged distributed thrusters, slowly rotating as they adjusted the ship’s flight posture.
The rescue airship slowly entered the hangar deck.
After landing, the heavy hatch gradually opened amid the hiss of high-pressure gas.
Raven and the others followed Martin out of the rescue airship.
More than a dozen fully armed soldiers were already waiting outside.
There were also several senior officials who looked to be middle-aged.
"Welcome to humanity’s last home. I am Humbert, captain of the Aratrum interstellar colonization vessel."
A middle-aged man with streaks of white in his hair stepped forward and introduced himself to Raven and the others.
"You people really ended up in a miserable state. You even lost the surface territories, leaving yourselves with just this junk ship."
With a single remark, Raven silenced all the human officials present.
Martin’s expression darkened slightly.
Still, he forced a smile and introduced Raven’s group and the officials to each other.
"What is there to introduce? Humanity is practically going extinct in their hands." Raven shook his head.
Even Black Emperor could not stand it anymore.
"How about you say a little less, boss?"
"What? Just because they are doing badly, everyone is supposed to be understanding? Who knows what horrible things they did when they fled, perhaps abandoning their fellow Earthlings!!"
Raven did not hold back in the slightest.
By human nature, people were not afraid of fighting to the death.
What they feared was that while others fought to the death, some people were already thinking of running away.
That was what truly crushed morale.
Raven did not believe that nothing had happened before the Aratrum departed for its new colony.
Those aboard this ship were probably either powerful figures or people with exceptional talents.
And in truth, it was exactly as Raven had said.
When the Aratrum set sail, humanity still numbered six hundred million.
At the time, two interstellar colonization vessels had been built.
One was called the Oratio.
They carried five thousand and ten thousand people respectively in search of a new home.
As for everyone else, they were left behind on Earth to await death.
Naturally, the vast majority opposed this escape plan.
Protests and terrorist attacks frequently erupted over the Aratrum and Oratio.
Yet the Earth’s United Government forcefully suppressed every opposing voice and pushed the plan through.
With so few spots, there was not even any possibility of drawing lots.
Everyone selected was either an insider or a descendant of one.
"Where are you from?" asked a gray-haired human official, his face brimming with excitement.
Judging from Raven’s group’s clothing, they should have come from a highly advanced place suitable for human habitation.
After more than twenty years, the Aratrum’s supplies had nearly run out.
They desperately needed to find a new world fit for humanity to inhabit.
"We’re from Earth," Raven said. "Didn’t you watch us board the ship?"
"Please help us," another official said. "We need a new home."
"We are from Earth, and we’re planning to return there," Raven said. "If you need a new home, I can make the call and give you an island when the time comes."
"The Aratrum is about to collapse. We lack fuel and usable parts."
"That really is bleak." Raven nodded.
"Please take us in," said a female official as she stepped forward.
"You aren’t even human, yet you claim that I disregard the people? What an inhuman thing to say."
Raven tilted his head toward the female official who had spoken.
As soon as he said that, several officials’ expressions shifted slightly.
"How did you see through it?" Humbert looked surprised before explaining.
Indeed, several of the senior officials were not human, but aliens whose home worlds had likewise been destroyed by giant beasts.
One was called Exif, and the other Brusardo.
They had wandered to Earth and helped humanity fight Godzilla.
But they had been no match for Godzilla and were annihilated by him, with only a handful of survivors escaping.
"So you were driven all over the universe too."
Raven’s words plunged the Exif and Brusardo into silence once again.
They desperately wanted to know who had given this bird the right to speak.
They really wanted to greet him with a gun.
Whether they could beat him was another matter. The important thing was to put a bullet in him.
Emperor, Waldo, Tokiwa Sougo, Tsukasa Kadoya, and the others said nothing.
They simply let Raven chat nonsense with the ship’s senior officials.
To make conversation easier, the officials led Raven and the others into the ship’s control room.
Just as everyone sat down, the ship suddenly received a message.
It said that survivors remained from the elite squad previously assigned to fight Godzilla, and that they had found a new weapon.
"Switch to the feed immediately," Humbert ordered.
Soon, footage from the ground appeared on the ship’s screens.
A young officer appeared in the image.
He took out an arrow with a strange tip and showed it to the camera.
"I found the nanometal left behind when the Brusardo created Mechagodzilla."
"It has continued self-replicating and has now evolved into a metal city."
The young officer turned the camera slightly, showing the officials the magnificent metal megacity behind him.
It had become a fortress with countless giant cannons and factories.
The war between humanity and the giant beasts had lasted for more than half a century.
Humanity had tried every possible method.
The Brusardo had also proposed countless plans and even shared their war technology with humanity.
Mechagodzilla was one of the plans they had introduced.
They would use nanometal to create a Mechagodzilla capable of fighting Godzilla.
Yet the plan ultimately failed.
Because Godzilla was too powerful.
At the time, an asteroid had been approaching Earth.
Godzilla destroyed it with a single Atomic Breath.
However, remnants of Mechagodzilla remained. After more than twenty thousand years of replication, they had become a magnificent metal fortress.
"We have already formulated a perfect battle plan," the young officer said. "Humanity will definitely defeat Godzilla in this battle."
The sudden good news filled Humbert and the other human officials with excitement.
"Then proceed according to your plan. No matter what, reclaim Earth for humanity," Humbert said.
"Understood." The young officer saluted.
Afterward, they went to make preparations.
A new round of war quickly erupted.
The nanometal city that had replicated for twenty thousand years fought Godzilla.
The battle erupted with astonishing intensity.
Several modified, ultra-high-performance mechs flew out and unleashed a barrage on Godzilla.
Godzilla continuously roared in pain, chasing the mechs in an attempt to destroy them.
However, the mechs were exceptionally agile. No matter how hard he tried, he could not hit them.
He was even lured into a trap and bombarded by concentrated firepower.
Even his shield was violently shattered by the replication city.
Several massive pulse harpoons struck Godzilla’s body.
However, that method failed to kill Godzilla.
Godzilla possessed a passive biological instinct.
It converted lethal pulses into thermal energy, and the entire replication city slowly melted under the terrifying heat.
But at that moment, Godzilla was unable to move.
"We still have one chance to win. We can have the mechs dive from high altitude and use gravitational potential energy along with their weapons’ penetrating power to pierce Godzilla completely from top to bottom. There is a chance that will kill Godzilla."
"If every mech works together, we will definitely win this war."
Belut, the Brusardo in command, had gone completely mad and wanted every mech to launch a killing-strike attack.
Unfortunately, one of the female mech pilots was unwilling to do so.
But Belut refused to give up.
He ordered the nanometal to seize control of all the mech pilots.
He intended to control them and force them into a suicidal attack on Godzilla.
Yet something went wrong with the operation. The young officer who had reported to the ship’s officials was not controlled.
He turned around and killed Belut, saving the other mech pilots.
Because of the internal conflict, Godzilla successfully broke free and destroyed the entire nanometal city with Atomic Breath.
The battle plan had failed.
Watching the nanometal replication city perish on the screen, the officials aboard the Aratrum turned ashen.
All hope had ended.
"That was quite a spectacle." Raven ate fries as he commented, "It was just like watching a blockbuster—fighting monsters while falling in love."
"Is this your way of humiliating us?" Humbert abruptly rose to his feet and looked at the leisurely Raven.
"They were all heroes who gave their lives for humanity’s survival, yet you are sitting here openly mocking them."
"Shouldn’t you be humiliated?" Raven turned his head and asked with complete sincerity. "Godzilla was nowhere near this powerful twenty thousand years ago, and you already had all the technology you have today. Yet you still lost miserably."
"Twenty thousand years have passed. Earth has already been shaped like Godzilla, yet you are hypocritically claiming that you want to return and reclaim Earth. Other than stupidity, I sincerely cannot think of any other word to describe you."
"Twenty thousand years ago, you had all of Earth’s resources and still could not defeat Godzilla. Now you only have a broken ship, yet you dream of defeating him?"
"Those so-called sacrifices you speak of are nothing more than self-deceptive self-indulgence. If you want to put on a performance, I’ll treat it as a show."
"Still, this Godzilla is pretty good." Raven turned to Malcador. "I think you should keep a pet or something. That Godzilla is ugly-cute in a charming way. It feels like a great fit."
"I agree." Emperor, who rarely spoke, nodded. "We do need a pet. This one is just a bit too large."
"It can shrink down, though. Make it knee-high, ugly-cute and adorable. When there’s nothing else to do, it can breathe fire to keep us warm." Raven said excitedly.
Humbert and the other officials were speechless.
They simply could not understand how these people’s minds worked.
They were already at a matter of life and death, yet these people were still discussing whether Godzilla was suitable as a pet.
Just as the ship’s officials were seething with anger.
A spacetime vortex suddenly appeared in Earth’s low orbit.
Terrifying roars came from the other side of the vortex.
Three golden heads flew out of the spacetime vortex, and their first target was the Aratrum floating in Earth’s low orbit.
The next second, Raven’s body emitted light, instantly teleporting the Aratrum tens of millions of kilometers away and causing the three-headed monster to miss.
This scene left the ship’s officials, who had been furious with Raven, completely stunned.
Where had this three-headed monster come from?
Why had Raven, who had just mocked them and called them useless, saved them?
The ship’s officials quickly figured out what had happened!!
It turned out Medefis of the Exif race was behind it.
He had gone to the surface with the action team, and his greatest purpose had been to summon Ghidorah.
After seeing the replication city fail, he used humanity’s despair to summon Ghidorah, a monster from another parallel dimension.
The Exif home world had been destroyed by Ghidorah.
But under the other party’s overwhelming power, the Exif not only did not hate Ghidorah, they instead came to worship him.
This plot was rather cuckold-like.
Sensing the pressure Raven had released, Ghidorah did not continue pursuing the Aratrum and instead charged toward Godzilla on the ground.
The moment they met, they began tearing into each other.
The battle between two apex giant beasts instantly caused heaven and earth to collapse across Earth, opening terrifying cracks everywhere.
"Alright, enough watching the show. Hurry up and capture Godzilla, then settle everything."
"Black Emperor Beast, leave it to you. Remember to keep that ugly-cute Godzilla alive."
"Black Emperor Beast?" Black Emperor grinned, revealing snow-white teeth. "Come over here and I’ll show you something good."
"Hurry up. You won’t get to regret it later," Raven said.
"I’m not going?? Neither Wu Shi nor Little Leaf ever ordered me around like this." Black Emperor said disdainfully.
"Then I’ll find someone else. Don’t come crawling back later to devour the giant beast someone else catches and obtain the law power in its body."
Raven looked at Waldo, Tokiwa Sougo, and the others. "How about you…"
Hearing that the giant beasts contained laws from the Other Universe, Black Emperor immediately leaped out.
"Leave this to me. Whether I devour them or not is beside the point. Given the deep friendship between us, anything you ask of me, I’ll definitely get it done."
Black Emperor stood upright on his hind legs with his paws on his hips, striking a pose of brotherly loyalty.
Emperor, Waldo, and the others all rolled their eyes.
There was a reason this dog got along so well with Raven.
Shamelessness was their specialty.
"Remember to leave that Godzilla alive," Raven reminded him. "This is a gift for Old Ma. If you damage it, I’ll send you over as a pet…"
"Relax. They’re just two beasts that don’t know their place."
Black Emperor was brimming with confidence.
He leaped down from the Aratrum spacecraft.
In midair, his body rapidly expanded, becoming a Sky-Devouring Divine Dog that blotted out the sky.
The impact wave from his landing was terrifying, instantly shattering the ground and tearing open spiderweb-like cracks.
Yet Black Emperor was completely unharmed.
Though his power was suppressed by the will of the universe, his body had long since been tempered to perfection.
Indestructible, imperishable through countless calamities.
Godzilla and Ghidorah turned toward Black Emperor in unison, threatening growls rumbling from their throats.
With a mere exchange of glances, the two giant beasts reached an understanding. Atomic Breath and gravity beams blasted toward the Sky-Devouring Divine Dog at the same time.
