Guilliman Falls Again
The magnificent Cybertronian fleet traversed the cold, boundless void.
Every warship was colossal, dozens of kilometers long, like a series of grand metal cities.
Several motherships even stretched for hundreds of kilometers.
They resembled metal continents moving through the void.
The glow emitted by the propulsion engines mounted at the rear of the ships shone like stars, brilliant and dazzling.
Those capital ships were equipped with terrifyingly powerful cannons.
A single shot could easily destroy a planet, or even an entire star system.
They unleashed beams thousands of kilometers in diameter.
The beams streaked across the void toward the Empire’s fortress structures, dazzling and radiant enough that no one dared look directly at them.
In an instant, they crossed the vast distance of space and time and reached the Empire’s colossal fortresses.
Layer upon layer of interwoven lotus-shaped shields activated.
The instant they came into contact with the beams, they were destroyed.
The shields shattered one after another at incredible speed.
Yet every layer weakened the beams and rapidly formed new shields.
The beams failed to pierce through every shield.
After breaking through hundreds of shield layers in succession, their power had weakened considerably.
In the end, they could no longer sustain themselves and dissipated into the void.
The attacked Empire refused to be outdone and returned fire at the incoming Transformers with all manner of devastating weapons.
Explosions and energy beams illuminated the entire void.
A region tens of millions of kilometers across had become a battlefield, filled everywhere with dense artillery fire and blazing fireballs formed by explosions.
Astartes warriors implanted with gene-engines moved through the void, fighting fiercely against the massive Transformers.
Both sides fought desperately, neither able to gain the upper hand.
From time to time, an Astartes warrior fell, or a Transformer was destroyed.
"For the Lion, for the Empire."
Dark Angel Asterlan shouted as he charged toward the enemy, his longsword covered in a rending field sweeping past a Transformer.
It split the opponent’s massive body in two.
A silent explosion erupted.
A terrifying shockwave spread outward, sweeping everything along with it.
Kill Count +1The kill notification appeared inside his helmet.
Asterlan adjusted his posture, then accelerated continuously, crashing into another Transformer like a meteor.
That Transformer stood a thousand meters tall and possessed an incomparably sturdy shield.
The weapons wielded by the Astartes only created ripples when they struck its body.
Even when they employed all kinds of rule-based attacks, they failed due to insufficient computational power.
Calculating kinetic energy generated by impact
Calculating shield strength, calculating the enemy's AT field energy supply
Establishing collision model, compressing defensive field, increasing defensive field strength.
Dense notification chimes continued to sound.
Asterlan ignored them completely.
His eyes remained fixed on the target, his will unwavering.
In the end, he pierced through the Transformer’s shield like a sharp blade and impaled its body.
The instant he passed through its body, the terrifying impact sent him flying onward with countless metal fragments, shooting through the void.
Kill Count +1Another kill notification sounded.
Asterlan slowed down and eventually came to a steady stop in the void.
Before he could survey the battlefield,
a bright beam swept toward him, striking his body and hurling him thousands of kilometers away.
Warning: Facial armor damaged, defense reduced by 45%
Warning: Left abdominal armor damaged, defense reduced by 25%
Warning: Chest armor damaged, defense reduced by 75%.
Repair process activated. Estimated repair time: 3 minutes 25 seconds"Are these things impossible to kill?"
Asterlan looked up and saw densely packed Transformers.
"They have repair programs." Luther’s voice sounded in Asterlan’s ear. "Those destroyed Transformers will be recovered, implanted with new Sparks, and then deployed to the battlefield again."
"You mean they can revive endlessly?" Asterlan’s heart sank. "If that’s the case, how long is this war going to last?"
"The enemy relies on an artifact called the AllSpark to revive without end. The three primarchs have already gone to deal with it. As long as they can defeat the enemy leader, this problem can be solved," Luther said.
"This battle is really awful," Asterlan muttered.
He turned to look into the depths of the void.
The most crucial battle was erupting there.
Three primarchs were fighting an enormous Transformer.
The terrifying power unleashed by both sides was enough to shake heaven and earth.
The surrounding fabric of space and time had been shattered, and the winds of nothingness raged.
"Our reinforcements have arrived." Luther’s words drew Asterlan’s attention back, leaving him somewhat curious.
Aside from the Astartes, what other Imperial units could contend with these massive mechanical lifeforms?
At that moment, beams of light flew out from the fortress and descended onto the void battlefield.
They were Imperial Giants created through light-conversion technology.
They had never been deployed in battle within their home universe. Only after arriving in the Transformers universe had they taken to the battlefield for the first time.
Every candidate to become a Giant of Light was an absolutely loyal Imperial elite.
Unlike the giants of the Ultra universe, who drew their strength from emotions such as love and hope,
the Imperial Giants drew their power from loyalty.
The more loyal they were, the stronger they became.
The combat power of the Imperial Giants was beyond question.
They possessed exceptional close-combat techniques and complex beam abilities.
They were more than capable of contending with the Transformers.
Once the Imperial Giants joined the battlefield, they swiftly reversed the disadvantage.
Yet the enemy’s numbers were endless, and the Imperial forces could only adopt a defensive posture.
Chaos had also erupted within the fortress.
Some smaller Transformers had infiltrated it, intending to sabotage the fortress from within and cripple the Empire’s firepower and shields.
"These carbon-based lifeforms are truly irritating."
Transformer Laserbeak raised two high-energy laser cannons and poured fire onto the human defenders in the distance.
"Their resistance is too stubborn," replied another companion beside Laserbeak.
Laserbeak pulled out a gravity grenade. "We need to show them what we can do. Carbon-based lifeforms are destined to be unable to contend with mechanical lifeforms."
At that moment, a terrifying fluctuation appeared, making everyone instinctively shudder.
"Something’s wrong."
Laserbeak sensed that something was amiss. The next second, he saw a giant enveloped in light appear at the end of the corridor.
Before he could react, a terrifying surge of psychic power rushed toward him.
Sizzle! Sizzle!
Bodies of steel snapped like dead leaves, electrical currents crackling as lubricant sprayed out like blood.
"Looks like I’m done for."
Laserbeak shouted to his other companions over the comms.
The next second, he was compressed into a lump of scrap metal by the surging psychic force.
Consciousness returning to the AllSpark. Awaiting next resurrection. The newcomer was Magnus.
Holding a staff and clad in crimson armor, he unleashed surging psychic power with a casual wave of his hand.
The Transformers in his path could not even resist before he destroyed them.
After eliminating every Transformer within sight, Magnus walked over to a viewport and looked out at the battlefield beyond.
At this moment, the entire void was ablaze with war.
The outer fortresses had already been breached and were slowly coming apart amid the flames.
So this was war across the heavens! Magnus reflected.
The Empire’s technology and military power ranked among the very best in its home universe.
Yet after coming to the Transformers universe, they still had failed to pull ahead of the mechanical lifeforms here.
The Imperium of Man had the Emperor, while the Transformers had Unicron.
The Empire had primarchs, while the Transformers had the Primes.
"How long will this war last?"
Magnus looked into the depths of the void.
The Lion, the Angel, and the Thirteenth were locked in a bitter battle against the Transformers’ leader—Sentinel Prime.
"New reinforcements have arrived."
"A new primarch has arrived as well—the recently returned Nineteenth."
The voices from central command sounded over the communications channel, drawing Magnus’s attention away from the distant void battlefield.
"A new primarch?" Magnus waved his staff open a teleportation passage, stepped through it, and arrived directly at the spacetime gate platform.
The spacetime gate was incomparably majestic. Even dozens of battleships lined up side by side could easily pass through it.
The Empire had sent more military units and warships to support the three primarchs.
"Are you the recently returned Nineteenth Primarch? Welcome to the Transformers universe."
Magnus spotted Corax among the arriving Imperial personnel at a glance.
A primarch’s presence was simply too conspicuous within a crowd.
Corax likewise appraised this brother of his.
"My name is Corax."
"My name is Magnus, the Fifteenth."
"I’ve read your records. They say you possess unimaginable psychic power."
"Yes. Among all the primarchs, my psychic power is the strongest." Magnus revealed a proud expression.
The two spoke for a while.
Then Magnus led Corax to central command.
The Empire had deployed hundreds of proton observers, allowing the entire battlefield to be seen at a glance.
Countless battlefield images were being displayed through projection screens before the Empire’s senior officers.
The moment Corax entered the command center, he was drawn to the images in the projections.
Especially the scenes of the Lion, Sanguinius, and Guilliman battling Sentinel Prime.
Within the vast, boundless void, all three primarchs had revealed their giant forms.
Their entire bodies shone with light.
Like three invincible deities who had emerged from ancient times.
Simply looking at them gave one an overwhelming sense of pressure.
Every gesture unleashed world-ending power beyond imagination.
Space trembled and shattered like glass.
Sentinel Prime was terrifyingly strong as well, madness surging in his eyes.
Wherever the staff in his hand pointed, even the laws of the universe were freely twisted and commanded.
He was a general under Unicron, having fought countless campaigns and amassed tremendous achievements. No one knew how many civilizations that had tried to resist Unicron he had destroyed.
As a mechanical lifeform, he possessed restorative abilities beyond imagination.
Any fatal damage could be easily repaired.
Rule-based and conceptual attacks were negated by the AT field surrounding his mechanical body, making them difficult to use effectively.
Therefore, both sides had resorted to the most primitive form of close combat.
Sentinel Prime swung his staff, tearing open shocking rifts in space along its path as terrifying energy erupted forth, dazzling and brilliant.
The staff in his hand had been forged from Cybermetal, the rarest metal in the universe, and possessed unimaginable energy conductivity.
It could resonate with its wielder’s consciousness, allowing him to leverage the universe’s laws and power and thus command inconceivable might.
The Lion, his entire body blazing with light, stood like a giant holding up heaven and earth.
The longsword in his hand shone brilliantly, like a radiant sun.
Clang!
Sword and staff collided, unleashing a terrifying energy shockwave that tore apart the surrounding asteroids and meteors.
Even sound defied the laws of the universe, echoing in the ears of every living being on the battlefield.
Both sides were blasted back hundreds of kilometers.
Sanguinius charged at Sentinel Prime with spear in hand, giving his opponent no chance to catch his breath.
The radiant wings behind him beat, slicing through space like an eternal beam of light.
"Spatial Restraint."
The primarch activated the Holy Blood Engine’s ability, warping the laws of space for his own use.
Transparent spatial barriers appeared, forming a cage around Sentinel Prime.
Crack!
Crack!
Sentinel Prime swung his scepter and easily shattered the spatial barriers.
A world-ending cannon behind him gathered energy and fired, blasting Sanguinius away.
Seizing the opportunity, Guilliman hurled himself at Sentinel Prime as though he were a weapon.
Empowered by his Warp essence and genetic engine, he was no smaller than Sentinel Prime.
Sentinel Prime staggered, and Guilliman reached out to seize his opponent’s scepter.
He had long since seen that most of his opponent’s attacks and power came from that scepter.
A massive cannon extended from Sentinel Prime’s other hand.
The cannon erupted with light like that of a star and blasted toward Guilliman.
The terrifying destructive radiance instantly engulfed the primarch.
WARNING: Protective field is about to fail
WARNING.Urgent warnings sounded.
Yet Guilliman turned a deaf ear to them.
Ignoring his own injuries, he swung his sword at his opponent’s metal arm.
The sword sheathed in a rending field severed Sentinel Prime’s arm, sending the scepter in his hand flying as well.
Lion tore open a spatial rift and banished the scepter, cutting off Sentinel Prime’s connection to his weapon.
Having lost an arm and his scepter, Sentinel Prime fell into a disadvantage.
After fighting for a while longer, Sanguinius’s spear pierced through his chest.
The Matrix of Leadership was located in his chest. It was the heart of the Transformers.
Sentinel Prime howled miserably in pain as the Matrix of Leadership was damaged.
Lion rushed forward, swinging his greatsword with the intent of cutting off Sentinel Prime’s head.
At that moment, space was torn open, and winds of nothingness poured in.
An incomparably terrifying mechanical tentacle reached through the spatial rift.
Before it, planets were as tiny as glass marbles in an infant’s hand.
The three primarchs were sent flying.
The tentacle wrapped around Sentinel Prime and dragged him back into the spatial rift.
Then the rift closed, vanishing without a trace.
Lion and Sanguinius activated their engines and analyzed the data from the spatial rift, intending to pursue him and eliminate Sentinel Prime once and for all.
But at that moment, Guilliman collapsed from the excessive damage he had sustained.
They had no choice but to abandon their pursuit and turn to check on Guilliman.
Guilliman was in terrible condition.
He had first endured Sentinel Prime’s full-force assault, then been blasted away by Unicron’s tentacle.
After suffering such repeated devastating injuries, he would have died hundreds of times over if not for a primarch’s terrifying physique and the enhancements of the genetic engine.
