He Came! He Fell Again
"Friends from China, please step aside. I have something to discuss with these people." Loki smiled warmly at the Chinese people, speaking in an exceptionally friendly manner.
"…"
Though they found it rather baffling, the Chinese people gave Loki some face. Without saying a word, they left the crowd and went to the side to watch the show.
They all looked proud and spirited, feeling immensely honored at that moment.
See? When your country was strong, its citizens would receive some measure of respect from others when they traveled abroad.
If your country was weak, just look at those people kneeling on the ground, too afraid to speak. That was the best example.
Without a powerful homeland behind you, who would give a damn about you when you went abroad?
Not to mention that these Chinese people had gone outside the crowd to introduce themselves and chat about everyday matters before watching the spectacle from the side.
After seeing the Chinese people off, Loki turned his attention back to the kneeling crowd.
"I am God of Mischief Loki. I am your god!"
Once the Chinese people had left, Loki’s friendly expression vanished. He coldly surveyed everyone kneeling on the ground.
"You crave conquest. Exhausted by the pursuit of glamorous freedom, you have lost the joy of life and become lost in your pursuit of power. Before me, you can only bow your heads and submit!"
Loki spoke like a complete charlatan, unable to hide the contempt in his eyes as he looked at the crowd kneeling all over the ground.
"No, you can’t! In this day and age, no one can be a ruler anymore!"
An old man shakily stood up, staring at Loki with righteous indignation.
"Oh?"
Loki glanced expressionlessly at the old man, snorted, raised Thor’s Spear, and summoned a bolt of lightning directly at him.
With a deafening crack, the old man did not even get to say a second sentence before he met his end, his body scorched pitch-black by the lightning.
He was just an ordinary person. What right did he have to fight against power beyond human limits?
When facing lightning, the only outcome was becoming a lump of charred carbon.
"Overestimating yourself."
Loki snorted and did not take the matter to heart.
After that, the kneeling crowd became even more silent, lowering their heads further.
They had thought a hero had appeared. But that was it?
Outside the crowd, the Chinese people had somehow produced sunflower seeds, peanuts, and little stools. They happily watched the situation unfold while chatting about family matters.
The old man’s fate taught everyone that when trouble arose, they needed to consider their own abilities. They could do what was within their power, but for things beyond their capabilities, they needed to know their limits.
"You were born with the nature of slaves, and in the end, you can only bow your heads and submit!"
Loki coldly looked at the crowd and continued his speech.
"B-but why don’t they have to kneel?"
At that moment, another middle-aged man shakily looked at Loki and pointed at the Chinese people eating sunflower seeds nearby, his face full of indignation.
"Too noisy!"
Loki snorted, raised Thor’s Spear again, and summoned lightning. The next moment, another inexplicable lump of human-shaped charcoal appeared in the crowd.
How could you pigs compare yourselves to the Chinese?
Couldn’t you have a little self-awareness? As God of Mischief Loki, who had lived for over a thousand years, he trusted his instincts and judgment greatly.
He firmly believed that the Chinese people eating sunflower seeds nearby possessed tremendous power.
Loki did not want trouble, nor did he want to offend China, so naturally, he would not go looking for trouble.
But what right did you have to expect the same treatment as the Chinese?
What the hell were you dreaming about?
Fine, the middle-aged man’s experience also taught everyone that they needed to read the situation. Sometimes, it was best not to meddle in other people’s affairs, or they might bring about their own deaths.
"You are lowly creatures like this, born with the nature of slaves. Freedom is the greatest lie. Accept the rule of a god!"
"Heh, they’re finally here."
Of course, Loki’s loud promotion of his ideas here had merely been a spur-of-the-moment decision. He had his own plan: draw all of S.H.I.E.L.D. here, find an opportunity to let them capture him, then sow discord within their alliance. He intended to first eliminate the trouble that was S.H.I.E.L.D., lest it affect his later plans.
At that moment, he saw a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet rapidly approaching through the sky in the distance.
After it descended to low altitude, the rear hatch opened, and a figure jumped out.
Holding a star-spangled shield and wearing a tight Joker costume, who else could it be but Captain America Rogers?
"Oh, soldier, are you here to surrender?"
Loki smiled as he watched Captain America descend from the sky and land before him.
"You know, the last time I came to Germany, there was also someone who wanted to rule others. But I defeated him."
Captain America stared coldly at Loki.
He had just seen Loki murder two innocent people on the screen inside the aircraft.
That made Captain America extremely angry.
"Heh heh, an outdated World War II veteran."
Loki sneered, not taking Captain America too seriously.
"Is it just you?"
Loki tilted his head, somewhat dissatisfied.
Was S.H.I.E.L.D. planning to send a mere foot soldier to capture him?
Who were they looking down on?
Though his original goal was to get captured by S.H.I.E.L.D., they could not make it look so cheap, could they?
"I can keep you occupied all day!"
Captain America spoke with complete confidence.
"Oh, oh, oh. I’d like to play with you all day, but I don’t have that much time."
Loki sneered, raised Thor’s Spear, and pointed it at Captain America. A bolt of lightning struck toward him.
Clang!
Captain America raised his shield and steadily blocked the lightning.
"Your attack is ineffective against me."
After blocking the strike, Captain America looked extremely confident.
No one can defeat me when I have my shield!
Captain America with his shield was the very definition of an even match. He could even trade a few moves with Thanos, so fighting Loki was not too much to ask, right?
"Oh, is that so?"
Loki sneered. The "Loki" illusions surrounding the crowd all raised their Thor’s Spears.
Sending a mere foot soldier to capture him—who were they looking down on?
Loki was especially displeased, so he prepared to end things quickly. He would use his signature illusion magic to bring Captain America down.
Loki was everywhere in the area. How many directions could Captain America’s shield block?
"End this!"
Loki sneered. All the "Lokis" attacked at once. Captain America was dumbfounded. Attacks were coming from every direction—where was he supposed to defend?
You had no sense of fair play!
Wasn’t this supposed to be a head-on fight? What kind of ability was using magic?
Boom!
The real lightning bolt struck Captain America from behind. After convulsing violently, he fell straight to the ground.
