Horus Hauls the Vengeful Spirit Away Overnight
Primal Heavenly Venerate’s tentacles plunged into the rift in time and space.
In an instant, he seized Kamen Rider Odin, who had been hiding in the Mirror World.
Primal Heavenly Venerate instinctively wanted to absorb him and draw upon the power of the laws within him.
Then he suddenly remembered that Raven had told him to capture Odin alive.
So he hurriedly suppressed the urge to absorb him and pulled Odin out of the Mirror World.
The Kamen Rider Odin whom Shinji Kido had searched for days finally appeared before everyone without warning.
He immediately took out Kamen Rider Ryuki’s Rider Card.
Ren Akiyama beside him also took out Kamen Rider Knight’s Rider Card.
Without any hesitation, the two decisively transformed into Kamen Rider Ryuki and Kamen Rider Knight, switching directly into their final forms.
"Don’t attack." Yui ran in front of Odin and blocked her two friends.
"Yui, don’t be foolish. He’s no longer your brother, only an existence controlled by obsession," Kamen Rider Ryuki said. "Through countless cycles, the humanity that belonged to your brother has long been worn away."
"No." Yui shook her head. "I believe my brother has always been there."
Yui turned to Kamen Rider Odin. "Isn’t that right, Brother? You’ve always been there. You’re not merely a simple obsession."
"I will save you, Yui," Odin said. "No matter the cost, I will make sure you live."
Looking at Odin before her, Yui finally came to her senses at that moment.
Her brother had been gone for a long time.
"Can I see him one last time?" Yui looked at Raven, her eyes brimming with tears.
Raven nodded, then reversed time, space, and causality, gathering together Shiro Kanzaki’s soul fragments.
But what had passed was ultimately gone.
Even by reversing time and space, all they could obtain was a remnant of the past.
Shiro Kanzaki’s existence could no longer last for long.
"Yui." Odin’s tone carried a trace of indulgence and humanity.
"Say your goodbyes while you still have time," Raven said.
"Brother." Yui trembled as she threw herself into Kamen Rider Odin’s arms.
Tears fell upon the cold armor.
"It was all Yui’s fault. I made you suffer so much."
"It wasn’t Yui’s fault. It was Brother’s fault," Shiro Kanzaki said. "I ruined everything. I didn’t respect your wishes. Not only did I fail to achieve my goal, I also harmed so many people."
"You don’t need to worry about me anymore, Brother. Lord Sanguinius created an anchor for me, allowing me to live like a normal person."
"Then I can leave in peace."
A relieved expression appeared on Shiro Kanzaki’s face.
Everything he had done had been for Yui. Now that Yui would no longer disappear,
his obsession had vanished as well.
It was time to say goodbye.
"Brother." Yui burst into tears.
Shiro Kanzaki reached out and gently patted Yui’s back.
"Don’t cry, Yui. Brother is only going somewhere far away, just like when I was little. It’s not like I don’t want Yui anymore."
"Brother."
Yui clung desperately to Shiro, but with a smile, Shiro turned into light and disappeared.
As the light faded, a Phoenix Card floated in the air.
Then the card slowly fell into Yui Kanzaki’s hand.
The card flashed, then vanished, becoming a phoenix pattern on the back of her hand.
Shiro’s final words also echoed in Yui’s mind.
"Live well for both of us, Yui. You must become an outstanding Rider."
Everyone watched the scene with heavy hearts.
Shiro Kanzaki’s original intention had merely been to save Yui.
Yet he had gradually gone astray.
It had to be said that this was a story of creating even more tragedies in an attempt to undo one.
"Even if someone starts with good intentions, the result can still be terrifying. The desire to pursue love is worthy of affirmation, but when it becomes excessive obsession, it is no different from evil."
Shinji Kido looked at the fading Shiro Kanzaki and sighed.
The others nodded in agreement.
Raven looked at the Emperor, her face full of disdain.
"Why are you looking at me?" the Emperor communicated with Raven through his thoughts.
"Without me, you definitely would have turned the Imperium into a complete mess, just like Shiro Kanzaki," Raven replied mentally.
"Bullshit. My plan is flawless," the Emperor retorted.
As if you haven’t seen your own fate, you rotting corpse on the Golden Throne, Raven thought.
"How can an occasional setback be called failure? That’s called a strategic retreat," the Emperor argued. "There’s no point telling you more. You don’t understand the bigger picture."
"Mm-hm, sure. A rotting corpse, and one very skilled at strategic retreat."
The Emperor personally experienced what those people Raven had infuriated beyond breaking point must have felt.
He truly couldn’t stand it.
How could this guy say things so devastating with such a tiny mouth?
After saying goodbye to her brother, Yui grieved for quite a while.
But she soon pulled herself together and helped Raven prepare to welcome Malcador.
Yui ordered a beautiful cake, carefully prepared gifts, and decorated Flower Bird Cafe in a warm, cozy fashion.
However, just as Raven and the Emperor stood ready, preparing to welcome an enraged Malcador,
they received news from the Time Bureau.
Malcador had encountered an accident while passing through the cross-universe temporal tunnel.
Due to an attack by Void Creatures, the tunnel through time and space had fallen into chaos.
Malcador and his attendants had fallen into another universe.
The Time Bureau personnel realized something had gone wrong and immediately traced back through time.
Using complex temporal devices, they searched for Malcador’s whereabouts.
They learned that Malcador had fallen into an Other Universe called StarCraft.
If it had been a normal universe, they only needed to guide Malcador back.
But the fatal problem was that universe had already been corrupted by Void Creatures.
It was filled with all sorts of twisted monsters.
The few remaining survivors were struggling to stay alive.
If they rashly guided Malcador back, those monsters might follow the trail into the cross-universe tunnel and cause enormous destruction.
The Time Bureau had also acquired some images of that universe and transmitted them to Raven and the Emperor.
The entire universe was covered in writhing eyeballs and rotting flesh, while grotesque, terrifying creatures wandered through the void.
Mutated Protoss attacked normal races everywhere.
They intended to drag the entire universe into an endless hell.
"We’re screwed."
Raven went numb upon receiving the news.
Void Creatures were the enemies of every universe.
Last time, he and the Emperor had nearly suffered a huge loss because of them.
"We need to call for reinforcements immediately."
The first thing Raven thought of was calling people in.
Corrupted universes differed from normal universes.
Their fate, causality, and countless other laws had completely collapsed.
Once someone entered, they would be targeted, and then battle would begin.
Unless the heavens collapsed and the Great Dao was extinguished, there would be absolutely no way out.
If they did not call people over, they could easily get ganged up on again like last time.
"Aeon, OAA, the Shrouding the Heavens quartet, plus Supreme Lord Taijun, Primal Heavenly Venerate, and Kamen Rider Origin."
With a quick thought, Raven decided to call everyone he knew who could fight and prepare to snatch Malcador back.
If they were too slow, the Imperium’s Four Great Figures would be reduced to three.
While Raven hurriedly gathered people,
a major event was also unfolding in the Imperium, on Terra.
After signing an agreement with the Land of Light and establishing a permanent peaceful relationship, Guilliman set off back to Terra.
Since he was returning to Terra, he did not bring many attendants.
He only brought his honor guard.
The moment Horus saw him, he became incredibly excited and stepped forward to embrace him.
He even pulled him into the Imperial Palace of Terra.
For a time, Guilliman was deeply moved.
This was what brotherhood was all about.
He had never expected that, after so many years apart, Horus would miss him so dearly.
The two Primarchs drank and talked from the heart, discussing everything from their first meeting to their later cross-universe journeys and military campaigns.
In the end, they both sighed over the changes wrought by time.
In the blink of an eye, so many years had passed.
They were no longer the inexperienced Primarchs of the past, but beings who wielded supreme power and endless armies.
With a single word, they could burn the stars and extinguish countless lives.
At last, Horus placed a hand on Guilliman’s shoulder. "You are my brother. You always will be."
"I feel the same way," Guilliman said with a nod.
"There may be things I have done wrong, but I hope you won’t blame me," Horus said.
"It’s fine. I’ve never taken such things to heart." Guilliman waved his hand.
"That’s good, then."
Horus smiled and took out a remote-control-like device. The moment he pressed it,
Guilliman staggered, and the Limit Engine within him automatically entered an update state.
A puzzled expression appeared on his face. He did not understand why Horus had made his engine update.
"The latest version of the Gene Engine has more functions, but during the update, the engine only has self-protection functions. Once attacked, it will enter absolute defense mode, ignoring attacks based on causality, time, fate, and everything else."
"What do you mean?" Guilliman asked in confusion.
"Terra needs a ruler."
"Mm, and then?"
Horus said earnestly, "I am not suitable for it. Whether handling government affairs or empathizing with ordinary people, I am inferior to you, Guilliman. You are a born politician."
"What do you mean?" Guilliman’s expression changed slightly. He felt something was wrong.
"It means nothing. Once you wake up, everything will be fine."
As Horus’s words fell, a terrifying force of time and space surged forth, rushing toward Guilliman with unstoppable momentum.
The Limit Engine automatically activated absolute defense.
Countless rays of light appeared from nowhere, weaving together into a massive crystal that enveloped Guilliman.
Guilliman fell asleep, surrounded by crystalline radiance.
"Success."
"Golden Throne, immediately transfer the regency authority to Imperial Primarch Roboute Guilliman."
Without wasting a moment, he immediately transferred the regency authority granted to him by the Golden Throne to Guilliman.
Then he left the Imperial Palace of Terra.
"Success?"
"Success?"
Abaddon, Sanguinius, Torgaddon, and other Lunar Wolves warriors appeared before Horus, asking excitedly.
"We have to move fast. Once the update is complete, the Limit Engine will awaken Guilliman and remove the absolute defense," Horus said. "Notify everyone immediately. We’re leaving at once."
"Understood." Sanguinius nodded, then opened a Phase Teleportation gate to notify the other Lunar Wolves warriors.
"Quick, get the Vengeful Spirit out of the harbor," Abaddon ordered the warriors beside him.
Horus raised his armored hand and rapped Abaddon’s helmet, producing a crisp metallic ring.
It gave him a taste of what it meant to be utterly baffled without hurting his brain.
"Why sail it out? Just carry the Vengeful Spirit and go. Don’t waste time. Once Guilliman wakes up, do you think we’ll still be able to leave?"
"Right, right. Carry it."
Abaddon activated his engine and shot into the sky.
At that moment, the Vengeful Spirit had transformed into a ship girl in black naval gear and was playing with the other ship girls.
"Take this, Horus Beam."
"Watch my Shield of Macragge."
The ship girls Vengeful Spirit and Glory of Macragge frolicked as they fired all kinds of beams.
"Vengeful Spirit."
The moment Abaddon landed at the harbor, he called out.
"Abaddon." Seeing him, Vengeful Spirit happily waved in greeting. "Come over quickly. Let me introduce you to the new friends I’ve met."
"This is the Glory of Macragge. She’s formidable too—she can fight me to a standstill."
Hearing that, Abaddon thought to himself, Is there any Primarch’s flagship that isn’t formidable?
"Where’s Horus?" Vengeful Spirit looked behind Abaddon.
Not seeing Horus, Vengeful Spirit was somewhat disappointed.
"There’s no time to explain."
Abaddon strode over, scooped Vengeful Spirit up, and slung her over his shoulder.
"Quick, say goodbye to your little friends."
Vengeful Spirit did not have time to react and instinctively waved goodbye to the other shipgirls.
Then Abaddon carried her as he charged toward the magnificent Gate of Time and Space in the boundless void.
"Is Vengeful Spirit leaving just like that?"
Glory of Macragge watched Vengeful Spirit recede into the distance, feeling a little downcast.
Once she left Terra too, who knew when they would meet again?
After Abaddon rushed into the Gate of Time and Space, the Lunar Wolves rose from all across the area one after another, flying toward the gate in perfect coordination.
They moved with astonishing speed.
Before Terra’s many departments could even react, they had all fled.
By the time Guilliman’s Honor Guard realized something was wrong and entered the Imperial Palace of Terra,
they discovered that their Primarch had activated absolute defense and was sleeping within crystal.
By the time the Limit Engine within Guilliman had finished updating and he awakened,
Horus and the Lunar Wolves had already left.
They had packed up and taken everything, leaving the place spotlessly clean.
It was as though they had never returned to Terra at all.
It was not hard to guess that they had planned this all along.
"Horus, you bastard, you set me up!!"
Guilliman quickly pieced together the full sequence of events.
Only then did he realize that Horus telling him to return to Terra had been a scam from the start.
Damn it!!
"That bastard carried Vengeful Spirit away overnight, terrified I’d wake up and catch him."
Guilliman furiously punched the floor several times.
He had actually thought Horus had simply wanted to reminisce about brotherhood after so many years apart.
Instead, Horus had lured him back to take over the position of Regent.
Meanwhile, in the passage through time and space, Horus stood on Vengeful Spirit’s bridge with a smile curling across his lips.
"Sorry, Old Thirteen. Royal struggles have always been filled with deception and intrigue."
"Don’t blame your brother. Blame the fact that you are the Master of Mankind’s son."
"The Master of Mankind’s son is destined to shoulder responsibilities ordinary people cannot bear."
