How Do I Trick Nick?
When Fang Mo opened his eyes again.
He had returned to the MC Overworld.
As usual, he first made a round of his territory, checking the surrounding crops and all kinds of automated monster farms.
With the World Anchor keeping Chunks active and the Villager Sword replacing an AFK player, the factories had overflowed again without exception. There were so many Emeralds, meat, and mineral resources that even the Chests could not hold them all. Some had even been squeezed onto the ground, floating there in spinning stacks.
Fang Mo compressed the coal, Iron, Emeralds, and the like into blocks, then sorted through the warehouse again.
"Damn, not having a storage mod is such a pain."
While controlling Steve to organize the warehouse, Fang Mo could not help complaining. "It would be great if I had a mod like More Chests or Storage Drawers."
If he had to name the best storage mod, Applied Energistics 2 was definitely it. But playing that mod without a crafting guide was practically torture, so Fang Mo had not seriously considered it.
Rather than studying Applied Energistics machines, he might as well figure out how to make a Thermal Expansion Storage Chest directly.
At least Fang Mo already had the Thermal Expansion mod.
"Come to think of it…"
Fang Mo stroked his chin thoughtfully. "The JOJO world barely unlocked any mods, did it? I think I only touched a Stone Mask and unlocked fifty percent of a mod’s permissions, right?"
Yes, Fang Mo had noticed it too.
As the number of mods he had unlocked continued to grow,
unlocking new mods had clearly become much harder than it was at the beginning.
Back then, Fang Mo had only needed to wander around Asgard’s treasure vault to unlock several mods. Yet in the last two worlds, the JOJO world and the Shinigami world… The Shinigami world had been better, giving him two mods, but JOJO had only given him half of one. That was a little excessive.
Fang Mo did not even know where he was supposed to unlock the remaining fifty percent.
The facts proved that the vampires in the JOJO world could not unlock the other fifty percent. But surely he was not expected to look for vampires in other worlds?
The True Ancestors from Type-Moon? Alucard from Hellsing? Or should he head to Demon Castle and become the director of a demolition office?
Honestly, Fang Mo was getting a headache.
In this situation, all Fang Mo could do was find ways to comfort himself. For example, maybe the JOJO world had only just begun, so it gave him fewer mods. Perhaps there would be more later on?
Like the second season of JOJO, Battle Tendency. There was Joseph Joestar’s classic scene where he stuffed two coconuts into his chest, dressed as a woman, and called himself Tequila Girl to infiltrate a Nazis base. That bizarre look of delicate features paired with a broad back and muscular shoulders was downright incredible. Fang Mo figured it had to unlock some kind of genderbending mod, right?
But then again.
If Fang Mo remembered correctly, MC actually had a Stand mod.
And not just mods based on the JOJO world. MC also had things like superhero mods, Iron Man mods, or Naruto mods.
Yet for some reason, Fang Mo seemed unable to trigger those kinds of mods specifically created around a particular world.
He had touched Iron Man armor back in Marvel, seriously studied ninjutsu in the Naruto world, and had even packed up the Tailed Beasts and taken them away. Yet for some reason, he simply could not unlock mods related to those things.
After thinking about it for a moment, Fang Mo suspected it might be a system issue. Maybe mods of that type simply could not be unlocked at all. But if that was the case, what was with the Infinity Gauntlet mod? That mod was genuinely in the process of being unlocked.
After thinking for a long time, Fang Mo still could not figure it out.
So he simply gave up thinking, lay on his bed to slack off, and controlled his Stand-in Steve to go work.
The facts proved that MC truly was a time sink.
Before he knew it, Fang Mo had spent more than half a month there again.
During that time, Fang Mo mainly controlled Steve to mine or go exploring and adventuring. Especially in the Twilight Forest, he had already swept clean everything within a radius of ten thousand blocks.
He had found several stacks of Totems of Undying alone.
He had stored more than half a Chest of Hydra Steak.
Of course, Fang Mo had not spent all his time controlling Steve to explore. Sometimes, he would still study the Crafting Table, mainly trying to make a Thermal Expansion Storage Chest.
In the past, Fang Mo definitely would not have had that kind of patience.
But now, he had experienced several worlds and had A Xue’s company. His mentality had matured quite a bit as well. Spending his free time studying the Crafting Table no longer seemed so unbearable.
Once Fang Mo adjusted his mindset, he had not expected that he would actually manage to tinker out a Storage Chest.
After all, Thermal Expansion’s crafting recipes were relatively simple. Fang Mo first figured out something called a Redstone Servo, then kept experimenting with metal ingots, Chests, and Servos. Before long, he made a Storage Chest that was said to hold twenty thousand items, or exactly three hundred and twelve stacks.
And that was only an ordinary Storage Chest.
Back when Fang Mo played on servers, he had learned a little about this mod because of his teammates. He knew that Thermal Expansion machines and Chests could both be upgraded.
Besides the initial basic Chest, there were four higher tiers: Hardened, Reinforced, Signalum, and Resonant.
The highest-tier Resonant Chest had a capacity of five hundred thousand items… more than seven thousand stacks. On top of that, the Chest could be enchanted. The highest level, Holding IV, apparently gave it a capacity of 1.5 million items.
That meant this Storage Chest could hold a full twenty-three thousand four hundred and thirty-seven stacks of items.
But unfortunately,
Fang Mo had not yet figured out how to make the upgrade kits.
Still, an ordinary Storage Chest with Holding IV was enough for him. After all, Fang Mo only had a few redstone contraptions for now. He had not yet built anything like the mining quarries found in large tech mods.
Besides the Storage Chest,
Fang Mo also took some time to study Avaritia.
Although he could not make anything else, he had managed to figure out how to craft an Ultimate Crafting Table.
This thing was fairly simple to make. It was just mindlessly stacking Crafting Tables into single compression and double compression, then placing a ring of Crystal Matrix Ingots around them. Compared to being complicated, it was simply expensive.
Fang Mo’s reason for making the Ultimate Crafting Table was also very simple.
He wanted to eat Cosmic Meatballs.
Those were much easier to make. He only had to put in two of each kind of vanilla meat. Fang Mo studied it briefly and made them.
After finishing all that, Fang Mo was basically ready to lie flat.
Usually, he would casually make a few Tinkers’ Construct weapons, brew some alcohol, or make some Pam’s HarvestCraft food.
Although a one-person MC world really was lonely, A Xue and the Ender Dragon could not accompany him in the MC world due to the world’s realistic nature. Still, Fang Mo had gradually grown accustomed to that loneliness. Sometimes he would look at the player statues on the mountain, go fishing, or farm a little. It felt quite relaxing.
During this time, Fang Mo also used Emerald and Cobalt to make himself a broad-bladed greatsword, then specifically embedded a pink magatama from the Bamboo Mod into it.
Cobalt could perfectly suppress enemies when attacking, making them weak, slowed, and sluggish. Everyone already knew the effects of Emerald Solid Foundation. As for the pink Healing Magatama, it could rapidly restore health by consuming durability. As long as it had Unbreaking enchanted on it, it was basically unlimited healing.
In other words, as long as Fang Mo stabbed this sword into a patient’s chest, they would not die, nor would they be able to run away. Fang Mo called it the Ministry of Punish—cough, cough—the Divine Doctor Savior Sword.
However, the easygoing and leisurely days did not last long.
One noon.
Fang Mo had Steve go mining underground as usual. As he passed by a dungeon, he unexpectedly found a Golden Book inside.
Written on it was a string of characters: "Chainsaw Man."
However, Fang Mo had the Chinese Language Mod, so he immediately understood what the writing meant.
"Hmm… Chainsaw Man?"
Fang Mo’s expression was clearly a little surprised as well.
He had read the manga before. Before dying, he had also heard that it was being adapted into an anime. But before he could watch it, he had been run over by a truck. That was rather unfortunate.
But how should he put it…
Everything else about this anime was fine. The only regrettable part was that the author was insane.
The story took place in a world resembling an alternate modern era, filled with monsters called Devils. These Devils gained power from their names. The more people feared that name, the stronger the Devil became. For example, if there were a cuckold Devil, it would definitely be especially powerful, because everyone feared that kind of thing.
On the other hand, if there were a chicken Devil… that Devil would be very weak, because few people feared chickens. People might even tease it when they saw it.
Forget basketball. Throwing one at the Devil would probably kill it.
In short, Chainsaw Man was a story set in that kind of world. Some of its scenes and stories were quite bizarre, of course, but some of the Devils were indeed extremely powerful. They might make good weapons.
Thinking of this, Fang Mo was actually a little tempted.
But temptation was temptation.
Fang Mo did not choose to go there immediately.
As for why, it was actually very simple. Nick Fury had been waiting for him in the Void Dimension for so long… If Fang Mo did not go back to see him soon, it would be a little hard to justify.
Besides, Fang Mo thought about the upcoming plot. It seemed like it was almost time for the Guardians of the Galaxy.
So even for the sake of the Infinity Stones, he had to make a trip back to Marvel first.
"Hmm… I should apologize to Nick first after I get back."
As he spoke, Fang Mo put away Chainsaw Man’s Golden Book and had Steve take out Marvel’s Golden Book instead. "How should I put it? Would he believe me if I said poop got stuck to the toilet and I couldn’t scrub it off?"
As he spoke, Fang Mo had already controlled Steve to open the book.
Amid rolling black mist,
his vision fell into darkness once again.
There will be another chapter late tonight. This chapter was supposed to be posted in the morning, but things are a little serious where I live, and the area was locked down today… Sob, so it was delayed a little.
