Hulk

New Mexico, an Air Force base.

Physical Enhancement Laboratory.

Blonsky entered the laboratory bare-chested, feeling somewhat excited.

His real name was Emil Blonsky. A captain, thirty-nine years old, born in the Soviet Union and raised in the United Kingdom, he served in the British Royal Marines. He was a true king among special forces.

Given his accomplishments and seniority, he could have been promoted to colonel long ago.

But he had refused.

From every angle, he was a qualified, genuine soldier—a soldier destined to die on the battlefield rather than in a hospital bed.

Not long ago, he had been transferred by Air Force General Thaddeus E. Ross, the "Thunderbolt General" known for his decisive brutality, to hunt down Hulk.

In a Brazilian slum, he had seen that green monster with his own eyes. If the creature had not been in such a hurry to escape, Blonsky would likely have died there, slapped into a pile of flesh.

At thirty-nine, he had long passed his physical prime.

Yet his experience and skills far surpassed what they had been in his younger days.

Middle-aged men were no longer as driven as they had been in their youth—that was simply how men were.

If he still had the condition he possessed back then, he would have had no problem fighting Hulk for three hundred rounds.

And now, he finally had this opportunity.

"Captain Blonsky, I’ll remind you one last time: the Super Soldier Serum is still incomplete. It has been sealed away for five years, and no one has used it since. You could die."

Standing nearby, General Ross made no effort to hide his admiration for Blonsky.

After fighting on battlefields for so many years, he liked soldiers who had endured countless trials of life and death, not fools like Dr. Bruce Banner, who had become head of the Gamma Ray Laboratory solely through his research ability and then conducted experiments on his own initiative.

A soldier’s duty was to obey orders. People like Bruce Banner should never have been allowed into military laboratories. Everything he had taken from the Air Force base had to be returned, including his knowledge and the destructive power within his body.

"Dying in a laboratory is better than dying of old age in bed!"

Blonsky lay down on the operating table of his own accord and said in a deep voice, "Come on!"

He looked like a stripped naked girl.

General Ross leaned against the wall with his arms folded and nodded. "We’ll inject you with the minimum dose. What I want is not a monster or a corpse, but a Super Soldier who follows orders and stays focused. If any side effects appear, the experiment will stop immediately, and you’ll be detained until you return to normal. Do you agree?"

Blonsky pursed his lips, somewhat unwilling.

Only an hour ago, he had learned that this Super Soldier Serum had created Red Skull and Captain America.

Yet they were only giving him the minimum dose. Did General Ross really think Blonsky was inferior to them?

Of course, he could not say that aloud. A soldier’s duty was to obey orders.

He nodded. "I agree."

The assistants strapped Blonsky to the operating table with high-strength restraints, ensuring that he could not hurt anyone in a rage, just as he had five years ago.

"We’ll inject you twice, once into the muscle and once into the bone marrow. The second one will hurt a little… unlike with women."

The preparations were quickly completed, and the doctor in charge began the injection.

The captivating blue liquid, like the ocean, slowly entered his body as the plunger advanced. Blonsky felt an unprecedented fullness—and pain.

Any special forces soldier could endure the pain of childbirth, but this pain was a hundred times worse.

He nearly crushed his teeth.

Every part of his body began to itch. If his hands had not been restrained, he might have torn his own skin off.

Every cell was protesting as unimaginable pain spread through his entire body.

His eyes widened as he felt his blood speed up, his body heat up, and his heartbeat accelerate.

Finally, all the pain vanished.

That felt incredible!

"General, his metabolic rate has doubled compared to an ordinary person. All his physical capabilities have been comprehensively enhanced, and even his immunity and cellular activity have increased considerably. Based on the data we received from S.H.I.E.L.D., he should be at half of Captain America’s level," the doctor said.

"Is he stable?" General Ross asked.

"Stable," the doctor replied.

General Ross let out a sigh of relief.

The Azeroth Iron Soldiers were certainly reliable, but as a soldier, he trusted his own men more.

Technology was not always reliable, especially when it was in someone else’s hands.

With Blonsky as his trump card, this operation would surely succeed.

"How do you feel?" he asked.

"Couldn’t be better."

After the restraints were removed, Blonsky moved his limbs, his face beaming. "I can’t wait. I’m going to find that monster!"

General Ross nodded. "We’ve already found him. At Culver University. Get ready. We move immediately."

Culver University.

"I should go, Betty."

Dr. Bruce Banner, now back to normal, looked somewhat frail. There was no trace of Hulk in him.

"Wait a moment."

Betty helped Banner straighten his clothes. "This looks better… Your hat is a little too small."

Neither of them wanted to leave the other, but neither had a choice.

Banner had his own difficulties.

As soon as he became emotional, he turned into Hulk. He was prone to rage and had little rationality. Staying with his girlfriend meant he could look but not touch, and he could easily hurt her. Besides…

His identity was special.

"It’ll get better," Betty said softly.

She was General Ross’s daughter.

Her boyfriend had led a secret experiment overseen by her father. She had been kept in the dark the entire time, never knowing that what he was conducting was not a simple Gamma Ray experiment, but the long-discontinued Super Soldier Program.

The imbalance of information had led Banner to conduct the experiment himself, and an accident had occurred.

He had become the huge, terrifying Hulk, hurting both her father and himself before being forced to flee from the pursuit.

Her father wanted her boyfriend’s serum to create more Hulks, but her boyfriend refused.

Caught between them, she truly did not know what to do.

The conflict between them could not be reconciled. The only solution was to help her boyfriend escape his pain and cure the Gamma Radiation.

"I gave you all the relevant materials. Is that Mr. Blue reliable?" Betty still looked worried.

"Reliable."

Banner nodded, but inwardly sighed.

He trusted himself more.

The problem was that he could not get into those famous laboratories and could not conduct the research himself. He could only turn to Mr. Blue, who was fairly capable in both Gamma Rays and cell biology, and hope it would help.

Suddenly, Banner frowned. He caught sight of a figure flashing through a building somewhere on campus.

"What is it?" Betty asked hurriedly.

"They’re here."

Banner said gravely, "Betty, get as far away from me as possible. Go!"

Without waiting for Betty’s reply, he turned and ran.

"Bruce!"

Betty tried to chase after him, but she rarely exercised and was not physically fit enough to catch him.

After five years on the run, even without transforming into Hulk, Banner possessed the physical ability of an ordinary athlete. He was not someone an ordinary person could match.

She watched her boyfriend run into the library. She saw a group of special forces soldiers pursuing him, several military vehicles charging recklessly through the campus, and soldiers sealing off the grounds.

"Stop!"

She quickly ran in front of an armored vehicle, spread her arms, and shouted, "I know you’re in there! General, please, let him go!"

Inside the armored vehicle, General Ross remained silent.

A few seconds later, the desperate Betty shouted again, "Dad!"

General Ross’s body trembled.

The door opened.

Just as he was about to say something, he suddenly heard a soldier shout:

"He’s on the skybridge!"

"He’s trapped in there!"

General Ross could no longer worry about his daughter. He quickly picked up his radio and said, "Everyone, listen up. Do not fire! Launch tear gas… Blonsky, don’t make a move yet. Don’t provoke him!"

Blonsky, who had been about to rush over, could only stop.

Two tear gas grenades were launched. Thick smoke filled the entire skybridge as Banner bent over and shut his eyes.

"You brought this on yourselves…"

He tried desperately to control himself, but he still could not calm the anger in his heart.

His eyes began to turn green, and that terrifying fellow finally awakened.
