I’m a Dragon Knight

After pondering for a long while, Li Feng decided to ask about Merlin’s whereabouts first.

After all, whether he delivered his fresh young meat straight to Merlin’s doorstep or kept his distance from Merlin in the future, knowing where Merlin was could only benefit Li Feng.

However…

As for the legendary Merlin, Berwyn said he had never had the chance to meet him and did not know where he was. The only thing he knew was that Merlin’s name appeared in quite a few biographies.

Scarface was equally bewildered. Though she was a long-lived dragon, she had never had the chance to meet Merlin either.

Seeing this, Li Feng considered it for a while before asking, "Scarface, would your kind know where Merlin is?"

Scarface shot Berwyn a vicious glare, then turned to look into the distance and said sadly, "This brain-dead Knight has nearly slaughtered all my people. The survivors are hiding in remote corners, and I don’t even know where they’re hiding. How could I know whether they know Merlin’s whereabouts?"

"So…" Li Feng took the Green Gourd from his shoulder bag, took a swig of beer, and wiped the corner of his mouth. "No one knows where Merlin is, and no one knows where the remaining dragons are either?"

Scarface nodded silently.

Beside them, Berwyn’s lips curled with disdain. He had been a dragon slayer for more than a decade, and countless evil dragons had died by his hand. It was also true that reports of evil dragons had become increasingly rare recently.

But who would believe that he had killed them all?

At the very least, he still knew the whereabouts of one evil dragon.

However, Berwyn had no intention of sharing that dragon’s location with Li Feng. In his eyes, Li Feng, who turned him into a sheep at the drop of a hat, was the same kind of creature as Scarface.

They were both fucking evil creatures.

Seeing that Li Feng had nothing else to ask him, Berwyn cautiously asked, "Respected wizard, may I leave now?"

Since Li Feng knew this was the world of Dragonheart, he naturally knew that Berwyn would soon find the dragon that had given half its heart to Einon.

Perfect. I also want to ask whether that dragon with only half a heart knows where Merlin is. Li Feng’s eyes shifted as he casually waved a hand, indicating that Berwyn could decide for himself when to leave.

Why would Berwyn remain there after that? He immediately gathered up his Crusader Sword and shield, turned, and ran down the slope, shouting, "coward, get back here!"

Scarface silently watched Berwyn leave. Once he mounted his horse and rode away, she asked in a low voice, "What are you planning to do with me?"

"Austin." Li Feng pointed at himself. "Just call me Austin." Then he pointed at the scar on Scarface’s face. "Do you need me to heal that scar? Don’t worry, it’ll only take a few spells."

Scarface touched the scar on her face. She could tell from Li Feng’s words that he did not intend to kill her. Otherwise, why would he bother healing her scar? Was he showing off that he had Mana to spare?

Perhaps his goal really was only to collect a little blood?

As for the scar on her face… Scarface sadly shook her head. "Forget it. This scar will always remind me…"

Remind her of what, and what warning it served, Scarface did not say, and Li Feng did not want to ask.

If he had the chance, Li Feng planned to take Scarface back to the Marvel Universe as a pet. By then, Scarface would have nothing to do with the world of Dragonheart anymore, so there was no point in knowing about her past.

Since there was no point, why tear open a companion’s wounds and rub salt into them?

"When are you taking the blood?" Scarface asked.

Li Feng patted Scarface’s head and smiled. "No rush. Testing fresh blood will give more accurate results. I’ll collect it once I have the tools ready. For now, we’ll follow Berwyn and look for your people."

Scarface narrowed her eyes slightly. "What do you want with my people?"

"Of course, to ask about Merlin’s whereabouts." As he answered, Li Feng walked around Scarface in a circle.

Li Feng’s answer was within Scarface’s expectations, but she was a little puzzled. Why was he circling around her? It made her feel like a cow on a butcher’s block, while he was the buyer.

Of course, Li Feng was not considering how to carve Scarface up. Rather…

Li Feng suddenly jumped onto Scarface’s back, planted his hands on his hips, and threw his head back with wild laughter. "I’m a Dragon Knight! And I’m riding a female dragon too! Hahaha, giddyup!"

Scarface watched Li Feng with twitching lips. She did not mind him climbing onto her back. He was a strong man, and there was no shame in letting him ride her.

But could he stop laughing so creepily? Her scales were practically standing on end, and no matter how she heard it, it sounded like he was insulting something.

Shaking her head, Scarface threw those unhealthy thoughts from her mind. She pushed off hard with all four limbs and beat her wings, carrying Li Feng into the sky.

"Austin, won’t it be too conspicuous for us to follow Berwyn so openly?"

Li Feng sat cross-legged on Scarface’s back, drinking beer as he smiled. "You’re afraid Berwyn will find a chance to kill you, aren’t you? Relax, he can’t see us."

"Can’t see us?" Scarface suddenly recalled how Li Feng had appeared beside her out of nowhere and asked, "Are we invisible?"

Li Feng shrugged. "What else? Do you think I’m stupid enough to openly tail Berwyn when I know he’s afraid of me now? If he knew we were behind him, the only thing he’d think of would be hiding among a crowd."

Alright, having a Mage nearby was actually quite convenient. Scarface asked curiously, "Why are you looking for Merlin? To discuss magic?"

Li Feng scratched his head and glanced sideways. "I haven’t decided yet. Speaking of magic, besides breathing fire, what other spells do you know?"

"I’m too weak. I can only change my skin color like a chameleon to camouflage myself." After thinking for a moment, Scarface added, "Some powerful dragons can use Transfiguration to turn into horses or dogs and hide themselves. Others can strengthen their Dragon Breath and breathe fire infused with magic. If you encounter surviving dragons, then either they’re terrifyingly strong and will turn you into one of their dishes, or they’re good at hiding. That’s the only way they could have survived until now."

"You’re one of the dragons who survived because you’re good at changing colors?" Li Feng covered his face. "Your luck really is incredible."

If I had good luck, I wouldn’t have run into killers like you… Scarface thought gloomily.

Elsewhere, Berwyn, who felt he had narrowly escaped death, rubbed his hungry stomach, then felt the empty purse at his waist.

Kill a dragon, earn a bag of gold.

That was the price he had set for himself. Now that he had failed to kill the dragon, the gold had naturally slipped away from him too.

With no other choice, Berwyn decided to go after the next dragon to fill his stomach.

On the way to the dragon’s hiding place, Berwyn encountered Gobert, who had eaten his fill and had nothing better to do than travel around.

Famished, Berwyn saw that Gobert looked like a kindly old man and immediately asked him for some rations. Along the way, he learned that this chatterbox Gobert held titles such as scholar, historian, and bard.

Gobert also learned that Berwyn was a dragon slayer, which thrilled him. He wanted to create a great epic poem but had been struggling for inspiration.

Wasn’t the dragon slayer before him the perfect source of material?

And so, Gobert shamelessly followed Berwyn, intending to witness the moment an evil dragon was slain with his own eyes.

Two days later, Berwyn arrived at a waterfall based on the information he had received.

While Berwyn carefully surveyed the surrounding terrain, searching both for the dragon and the best place to kill it, Gobert climbed onto a "boulder" with manuscript paper in one hand and a quill in the other. He jabbed the quill hard against the boulder several times, both to dull the tip so it would not pierce the paper and to let the ink flow down to the nib.

At that moment, the "boulder" beneath Gobert suddenly opened its eyes and glanced at the man on top of its head, then closed them again as if nothing had happened.

Clearly, Gobert was sitting on the dragon’s head.

Completely unaware of this, Gobert scribbled away on his manuscript while chattering, "Slaying a dragon on an adventure is certainly heroic, but if the dragon falls in the forest and no one hears or sees the dragon slayer’s heroic bearing, then what meaning is there in slaying it at all?"

As an experienced dragon slayer, Berwyn had spotted the dragon the moment it opened its eyes to look at Gobert. He raised his spear, stared at the boulder beneath Gobert, and gestured for Gobert to be quiet.

At that moment, Gobert felt inspiration flooding through him. How could he possibly hear what Berwyn was saying? He continued writing on his manuscript.

Though Berwyn had slain countless dragons, he was still a Knight with principles. At the very least, he did not kill people lightly.

With no other choice, Berwyn put a finger to his lips, made a soft "shh," and gestured for Gobert to quickly get off the "boulder."

Gobert was confused and had no idea what Berwyn wanted. Still sitting on the dragon’s head, he continued writing and said, "The power of the pen is greater than…"

Before he could write much more, Gobert noticed that the nib had run out of ink. Instinctively, he poked the "boulder" beneath him with the quill again.

The tip of the quill could not hurt a dragon. Dragons were thick-skinned creatures, after all.

But not being able to hurt it did not mean it did not itch.

It was like a silkworm crawling across someone’s arm. That deep, bone-tingling itch was enough to raise goosebumps all over one’s body.

The dragon beneath Gobert felt the same way. If it had been pain, he could have endured it. But how was he supposed to endure an itch?

Unable to bear it any longer, he shuddered and flung Gobert from his head.

Once the dragon realized it had been exposed, it hurriedly hid in the cave behind the waterfall. It tossed out a rotted skeleton and snarled threateningly, "The last dragon slayer who dared oppose me ended up as these remains. If I were you, I’d get out of here while I still could."

I’ve been a dragon slayer for over a decade and am still alive. How could I be scared off by a few harsh words from you? Ignoring the dragon’s threat, Berwyn hurled his spear at it, then drew his Crusader Sword and shield and entered the cave.

Seeing that his warning had been useless, the dragon angrily breathed a blast of fire at Berwyn.

Unfortunately, the dragon’s surroundings were far too damp, greatly weakening his flames.

Seeing Berwyn emerge completely unharmed, the dragon felt unbearably awkward. His dragon face was practically too embarrassed to stay attached.

What was I thinking? Why did I choose a battlefield that weakens my abilities? And this cave is so small that I can barely turn around.

While grumbling inwardly, the dragon decided to switch to a battlefield more suited to displaying his strength. He beat his wings and fled from the cave.

Berwyn immediately ran out after him, mounted his horse, and gave chase.

Before long, Berwyn caught up with the dragon. He threw a hobble rope attached to his saddle, wrapping it tightly around the dragon’s hind legs and preventing it from fleeing.

In the sky, Li Feng, who had watched the entire process of Berwyn catching the dragon, covered his face and asked, "Scarface, are your dragons’ flying speeds not even faster than a horse’s running speed? It’s a miracle weaklings like you haven’t been wiped out by humans yet."

Li Feng patted Scarface beneath him and sighed. "You should be glad you don’t live anywhere near Guangdong or Fujian."
