Immortal Progenitor
"Let’s go!"
Gu Sheng spoke indifferently to the few people accompanying him. Apart from the Three Elders of the Blood Clan, Gu Sheng, Liu Daimei, and Marcus, only Lucian and several elite Death Warriors who had completed their transformations had come this time. Every one of them was at least Third Star Level.
"William, I’m here!"
Marcus was the most excited. He hurried across the snow toward the gate.
"Marcus, that guy’s still as impatient as ever!"
Amelia curled her lips.
"Let’s go too!"
Victor said something to the few Death Warriors beside him, then led them forward.
After they left, several figures appeared beyond the snowy peaks. An amiable old man gazed at the castle before him with a compassionate look in his eyes. "William, Marcus, and…"
The group arrived at the gate on the castle’s top floor. Back then, to keep the place secret, Victor had killed all its builders and sealed it off. With no one maintaining it, many of the buildings had lost their functions, and the iron lock on the door was covered in rust and had long since become useless!
"Boom!"
Marcus gave the door a light push. It tilted slightly, then fell straight to the ground.
"Now that’s an antique!"
Amelia shook her head with a laugh and stepped into the castle.
"Which way do we go now?"
After they reached the hall, Gu Sheng turned to look at Victor, who was at the rear. He was the only one who knew the exact location where William had been imprisoned.
"Come with me."
Victor sighed, then took the lead. Mechanisms were scattered densely along the way. Without someone guiding them, an ordinary person would have died halfway there.
"This is the place!"
Victor brought them to a secret chamber. When he opened the interlocking chamber door, an object shaped like a humanoid suit of armor, heavily restrained, appeared before them.
After William had been captured back then, Victor had imprisoned him in the iron armor for all these years. Although he had not died, he had fallen into a passive slumber. Not turning into a dried corpse like a member of the Blood Clan was already a blessing.
"William!"
Marcus approached the iron armor and inserted a key into it.
"Click, click, click~~~"
After a series of mechanical sounds, the armor opened. A gaunt humanoid giant wolf with its eyes tightly shut appeared before everyone.
This Werewolf Progenitor had been imprisoned for years and had never received any energy replenishment. He was in his weakest state. After remaining dormant for so long, William was as thin as a bundle of ribs and possessed almost no combat strength. In the original timeline, the fact that he had been easily killed was partly due to this.
"Awooo~~"
Perhaps because he had sensed the outside air, the werewolf suddenly opened a pair of blood-red, mindless wolf eyes and began snarling at everyone before him.
"Damn beast!"
Victor felt as though he had been targeted. He raised the silver crossbow in his hand, preparing to fire.
Marcus paled in alarm. He hurriedly held William down and said to Victor, "Stop! Don’t provoke him!"
"Marcus, move!"
Amelia suddenly raised her silver crossbow as well. She had discovered that William’s bestial nature had grown even more violent after being imprisoned for so many years.
"Awooo~"
William suddenly let out an enraged roar. His frail body actually knocked Marcus aside and charged toward Victor. Although he had lost his reason, he still retained his hatred for Victor.
"Thrum!"
Two streaks of silver shot from the crossbows in Amelia’s and Victor’s hands, one after the other, vanishing in a flash through the darkness.
"Bang!"
William seemed to sense the danger. He leaped to the left, and the two bolts struck the ground.
"Whump~"
A figure suddenly appeared behind William. Gu Sheng kicked him in the back of the head, forcing his wolf’s head directly beneath his foot.
"Awooo~ Awooo~ Awooo~~~"
William struggled desperately to rise, but Gu Sheng held him firmly down. In terms of strength, Gu Sheng’s current force of nearly four hundred thousand jin was far beyond what the untrained Werewolves and Blood Clan could match. Even a Hybrid, despite possessing strength that came too easily because it had never been cultivated, would not be his opponent.
"Wake up!"
Gu Sheng took out a Syringe and injected William with Lucian’s blood, which he had prepared long ago.
"Awooo~ Awooo~ Roar~~ Roar~ Ah~~ Uh~ Awooo~"
William’s throat released a series of sobbing, indistinct roars, while his body began to change. After a series of convulsions, he slowly transformed back into human form. However, just as the transformation was about to finish, he suddenly raised his head and broke free of Gu Sheng’s control, letting out a howl as half his face changed back into a wolf’s.
Following that howl, William collapsed unconscious. This time, he had transformed into a sleeping man.
"Has William recovered?"
Marcus hurried over and lifted William up. After changing him into loose clothes to cover him, he anxiously turned back to Gu Sheng.
"I don’t think he has recovered completely."
Gu Sheng’s words made Marcus’s heart tighten.
"William’s Mad Wolf Disease has indeed been alleviated, but you saw what happened at the end. He still lost control.
"I suspect that Lucian’s blood only changed him from completely insane to half-mad. He’s fine in human form, but once he transforms into a werewolf, he easily loses control. He won’t transform back until he’s exhausted, like this.
"But this is still better than before, isn’t it? As long as we find Alexander Corvinus, I believe we can restore him completely."
Marcus looked at the sleeping William on the ground, then suddenly turned around and smiled lightly. "I know what you want. That man has nothing to do with me anymore. I’ll help William obtain the thing."
"Are you dissatisfied and heartbroken over the way your father treated you?"
Watching Marcus carry William ahead, Gu Sheng suddenly felt somewhat displeased. Alexander had truly gone too far as a person. He clearly had the strength to suppress William, yet he did nothing, allowing the thousand-year war between the two clans to continue. He refused to interfere with anything, only showing up to clean up the mess afterward.
It could be said that everything had happened because of his laissez-faire attitude. If he had been as proactive as Marcus and restrained William the moment something happened to him—
Even if he had not known what his blood could do, he could still have kept William by his side and prevented him from spreading the wolf plague. But he had chosen to remain indifferent, forcing Marcus to seek help from others.
"What is this?"
When they reached the front of the castle, they discovered that Marcus had stopped. Outside the gate stood a group of fully armed guards. In their midst, an old man calmly watched Marcus and William.
Gu Sheng walked to the front, his gaze settling on the perpetually composed man. The man had a thick beard, wore a black trench coat, and possessed a deep, sustained aura tinged with compassion.
"Alexander Corvinus!"
The progenitor of the immortals in this world and the source of everything, Alexander Corvinus, withdrew his gaze from his two sons and spoke solemnly to Gu Sheng.
