The Battle Between Father and Son

"Alexander Corvinus!"

Gu Sheng repeated his name, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. "Mr. Alexander, you should know that we’ve been looking for you."

"Mr. Will, William, is he all right now?"

Alexander’s gaze fell on William again, carrying a strange hint of meaning.

"He’s temporarily fine, but the fundamental problem hasn’t been solved. It’s only changed from uncontrollable to controllable."

Gu Sheng smiled and explained Mad Wolf Disease, which was essentially related knowledge about rabies. William was now like the Hulk—once provoked, he might lose control.

"Is that so?"

Alexander’s gaze dimmed slightly, but he quickly returned to calm. "I deliberately avoided this all along. Now that William has awakened from his slumber, it’s time to… make amends for my past mistakes!"

"Make amends for your past mistakes? How do you plan to do that?"

Gu Sheng suddenly felt like laughing. Was Alexander deliberately teasing him? He had ignored the matter all this time, and now that William had gained a little freedom, he was preparing to lock him up again.

That was right. Judging by what this man meant, he intended to imprison his uncontrollable son. Alexander was not yet the man from a thousand years later, the one who had grown tired of living. His heart had not yet died to the point where he wanted nothing to do with anything.

"Don’t even think about it!"

Marcus shielded William behind him. "You chose to leave us alone all these years, so why have you come out now?"

"I’m an unqualified father!"

Alexander said flatly, "But as a father, I have a duty to take responsibility for my children."

Gu Sheng shrugged noncommittally. "However… your son doesn’t seem to appreciate it! Alexander, let’s get straight to the point. Give me your blood, and I can make William recover completely."

"Your target is me, but I can’t agree to that, and I won’t give you my blood!"

Alexander was not surprised. In fact, he had already learned of Gu Sheng’s objective through other channels. "I came here this time to take all of you away."

"A Blood Clan and Lycan Clan without weaknesses should not remain in the outside world. This world belongs to humanity."

Alexander’s words caused Victor and Amelia’s expressions to change. It seemed he was speaking to them.

Gu Sheng’s expression did not change at all. Some details in the original story actually revealed what sort of person Alexander was. He was a pure humanist who had always considered matters from humanity’s standpoint. Everything he did was for the stability of human society.

The reason he had allowed Marcus and William to do as they pleased was that, in the eyes of this humanist, his sons had already become monsters and were no longer human. If they had not been his sons, he would have killed them long ago.

Therefore, he had always ignored the battles among their blood descendants, choosing silence. He had merely confined them to a certain area and controlled the development of the situation.

But this time, he could no longer remain silent. The wolf disaster William had caused back then had affected him too deeply. After finally restricting the disaster to a certain area, he did not want to see the balance broken again.

Moreover, the new changes in the Blood Clan and Lycan Clan made him uneasy. A Blood Clan that did not fear sunlight and Werewolves that were not afraid of silver meant they would no longer have obvious weaknesses. With physical abilities far beyond ordinary humans and incredibly long lifespans, the undead would eventually be able to rule the entire world.

That was something Alexander did not want to see. In his view, this world belonged to humanity, and humans were its masters. No monster, including himself, could interfere with humanity’s development. Previously, he could tolerate the flawed Blood Clan and Werewolves, allowing them to exist and wage war in secret.

But if the Blood Clan no longer feared sunlight, ambitious people like Victor would definitely refuse to remain behind the scenes. They would step into the open and would be fully capable of turning the entire world into the Blood Clan’s hunting ground, ruling over the life and death of humanity. That was something he could not tolerate.

"Enough nonsense. Hand over your blood!"

Marcus roared, carefully placing William on the ground. He tore apart his clothes and transformed into a bat monster, then charged toward Alexander.

"You’ve grown stronger?"

A ripple flashed through Alexander’s eyes. Marcus’s transformation surprised him greatly. "It’s not impossible for you to have my blood. As long as you agree to come back with me, stop interfering with the development of the Werewolves and Blood Clan, and stop producing descendants."

"You want to control me again now? Keep dreaming!"

Marcus roared and shot into the sky, diving toward Alexander from midair.

"Bang~"

Alexander’s figure flashed. The wind suddenly shrieked, and in the blink of an eye, he vanished. Marcus’s attack struck nothing.

"Help Marcus!"

Victor and Amelia, along with the Death Warriors behind them, quickly transformed into bat monsters. One after another, they took to the air, all targeting Alexander.

This man’s ideas made them extremely uncomfortable. Victor’s desire for power surpassed everything else—how could he possibly follow Alexander and become a believer?

"Bang! Bang! Bang~"

Alexander dodged every attack from the bat monsters. Their strikes hit the snow, sending countless snowflakes and ice shards flying.

"Clang~ Clang~ Clang~~"

Alexander’s subordinates drew their Cross Swords one after another, raising their powerful bows and crossbows as they prepared to attack.

"Don’t act recklessly. Just protect yourselves. This is between me and them!"

Alexander suddenly spoke. It was not that he did not want assistance. It was simply that Gu Sheng had not brought many people this time, but every one of them was an elite, with the weakest reaching the Third Star Level.

There were no firearms or ammunition in this timeline yet, and the weapons of these elite warriors could not restrain their opponents. Against bat monsters that could fly, they were nothing but easy prey. Charging forward would only get them killed.

"Your strength isn’t enough!"

Alexander swayed from side to side, dodging Marcus’s sharp claws before suddenly closing in and striking him with his shoulder.

"Bang~"

Marcus was sent flying. He rolled several times across the snow like a tumbling gourd, picking up a great deal of snow along the way.

"What incredible speed!"

A trace of astonishment flashed through Gu Sheng’s eyes. Alexander’s strength was far beyond what he had imagined. He was probably the upper limit of this world, and Marcus was completely unable to fight back against him.

Looking at it this way, Alexander truly had not wanted to live in the original timeline. Otherwise, Marcus would not have been able to kill him even by launching a sneak attack.

"Whoosh!"

Alexander suddenly retreated, and a black hole exploded beneath his feet. He turned his head and saw Amelia in midair, already loading another crossbow bolt.

"Don’t interfere!"

Alexander once again restrained his restless guards. He leaned aside to dodge a Death Warrior’s pounce, then snatched the Cross Sword from the warrior’s hand with his right hand. He followed with a kick to the bat monster’s neck, knocking him unconscious.

"Bang~ Bang~ Bang~"

Once Alexander got serious, he was overwhelmingly powerful. He cleared out the Death Warriors one after another, leaving only the Three Elders of the Blood Clan to join forces against him.
