Lockdown, Demon King Clone
"No feud, no father and son. Good thing I never planned on having descendants."
Sensing what was happening inside the sealed space, Wang Bert could not help shaking his head. Just then, a mocking voice suddenly rang out from below. "You killed Mephisto and Blackheart. Blood God, are you feeling very pleased with yourself now?"
Wang Bert looked down and saw Grandmaster, who had removed his hood, looking up at him with a sneer.
"If I’m not pleased, should I be despairing like you?"
Wang Bert sneered. "Grandmaster, your Elders of the Universe’s plan has failed."
"Our plan was never to restore Mephisto’s intelligence. Our plan was to lure you into Hell."
Grandmaster laughed triumphantly. The next moment, towering phantoms appeared in the sky: Demon Dragon Lord, Succubus Lord, Lucifer, Flame Demon Lord… Basically, every Hell Lord except Satan had arrived.
"Blood God, welcome to Hell."
Succubus Lord giggled. "Since you’re here, don’t even think of leaving. I’ll treat you well and make sure you become a dried corpse with a smile on your face."
"As if anyone could smile about that."
Wang Bert snarked. He swept his gaze across them and snorted. "Quite the full house. You think you can trap me?"
"Of course we can."
Lucifer said calmly, "All the Lords have joined forces to seal Hell. Even with the Space Stone, you still cannot leave. Blood God, once the scepter returns to Hell, we’ll come over and have a good time with you."
At this moment, the Hell Lords could not enter Mephisto’s Hell. This was Hell’s self-protection, preventing interference while authority was being transferred.
Wang Bert snorted and lowered his head to ask Grandmaster, "So this was the real goal of your Elders of the Universe?"
"That’s right, Blood God. We’ve already won this round. Without your protection, Sovereign will be destroyed within seven days."
Grandmaster grew even more smug. "Blood God, I hope you can hold out until then. Though in my opinion, that’s basically impossible. You’ve offended far too many people."
Wang Bert sneered. "Grandmaster, we’ll take our time playing."
To Grandmaster, this was clearly the howl of a beaten dog. He theatrically gave a bow and vanished. Hmph, you blew up my arena. Now you’re paying the price, aren’t you?
With Blood God trapped, there was no way he could lose this wager.
"Idiot, did you think I hadn’t accounted for your scheme?"
Wang Bert smiled disdainfully and called out to Succubus Lord in the sky, "Waiting around is a little boring. Succubus Lord, dance for us and warm things up."
"No problem. Since you’re about to die, I’ll fulfill your final request. Open your eyes wide. The Succubus Dance Troupe is about to perform."
"Blood God, didn’t you say you wanted to eat my flesh? This time, let’s see who eats whom."
Demon Dragon Lord sneered repeatedly, as did the other Lords. This time, Blood God was undoubtedly doomed.
"Those who swim well drown in water. Blood God thought the Space Stone let him act without restraint, never realizing it would become the cause of his death."
Lucifer’s gaze was ice-cold. How did that saying go? There was a road to Heaven, yet you refused to take it; Hell had no gate, yet you insisted on barging in.
"Don’t worry. I’ll definitely get to eat your flesh."
Wang Bert snorted, descended to the ground, and summoned the golden cocoon.
If anyone could see inside the golden cocoon, they would discover that Adam was wrapped in blood—Wang Bert’s blood.
Not only that, a portion of Wang Bert’s soul was merging into Adam’s body. Adam had not yet been born with a soul, so the process went very smoothly.
This was a cloning technique Wang Bert had used before. Erik’s clone had been created this way.
In other words, Wang Bert was about to gain an Adam clone.
"One Adam isn’t enough."
Wang Bert beckoned, and the armor in the sky turned into light and flew into the golden cocoon.
"Blood God, are you trying to make this puppet the master of Mephisto’s Hell?"
Seeing this, Demon Dragon Lord said disdainfully, "You’re overthinking it. Hell has its own consciousness. Anyone it does not acknowledge cannot become the Demon King even if they obtain the scepter, much less a puppet with an incomplete soul."
Succubus Lord added, "That’s right, Blood God. Stop trying to stall for time. Before long, the scepter will disappear, and then your time of death will arrive."
Before the two Lords had finished speaking, Mephisto’s Hell suddenly shook. Vast power surged from the earth and rapidly gathered around the golden cocoon.
The incomplete golden cocoon was swiftly restored, and Adam’s aura soared wildly. Before long, he would be born into this world in the body of a Demon King.
"That’s impossible! How can a puppet become Hell’s Demon King? Since when are Hell’s Demon Kings so cheap?"
Demon Dragon Lord shouted in disbelief. The other Lords felt the same way. There was no reason for this at all. Had Hell’s consciousness gone stupid?
"There are plenty of impossible things in this world."
Wang Bert smiled disdainfully and shouted to Succubus Lord, "Where’s the dance troupe? Start already, or I’ll leave you a bad review."
"Blood God, even if your puppet becomes Hell’s Demon King, he still cannot save you, because every Lord wants to kill you."
As Succubus Lord clapped to signal the succubi to begin dancing, she snorted. "This new Demon King can only buy you a few more days."
"That’s right, Blood God. We will never let you leave Hell alive."
The Lords all nodded. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Ancient One was severely injured, and once they eliminated Blood God as well, who else could stop them from entering Earth?
"Shut up. Don’t interrupt me while I’m watching the dance. Oh, right, you need barbecue when watching a dance."
Wang Bert cursed, then thought of something and pulled a dragon tail from thin air, putting on a convincing show of roasting it.
Demon Dragon Lord was nearly driven mad with rage. That was its tail. Though it was entirely formed from demonic power, someone at Wang Bert’s level could still eat it if he wanted to.
"Blood God, I will never let you go."
Demon Dragon Lord gritted its teeth. It had made up its mind that once the new Demon King was born, it would immediately rush in and tear Blood God to pieces.
"Blood God is still this arrogant at a time like this. He really is a lunatic."
Sensing this scene, Grandmaster could not help shaking his head. Then, he shifted his attention away from there and turned it toward Sovereign.
Blood God was as good as dead. There was nothing worth watching. Next, it was time to destroy Sovereign.
At Kamar-Taj, Wang Bert’s projection was drinking tea with Ancient One. Smelling the fragrance of the tea leaves, Ancient One said to Wang Bert, "Earth Guardian is about to gain a Demon King Clone. If others found out, their worldview would probably shatter."
"That only means their mental fortitude is too weak."
Wang Bert said calmly, "Waiting for Hell’s Demon Kings to attack has always been too passive. This is the perfect chance to drive a nail into Hell. It’ll be very lively there in the future."
Ancient One asked again, "Lively, yes, but how did you know Hell’s consciousness would accept you?"
"I previously sensed two dimensions. One was the Dragon Dimension, and the other was the Hell dimension."
Wang Bert gave a bitter smile. "I don’t know why the Hell dimension took a liking to me. I’m clearly so kind and pure."
"You forgot one of your virtues."
Ancient One teased, "Your skin is incredibly thick."
"You flatter me, Master."
Wang Bert smiled. "Those Demon Kings think they’ve sealed me in, but they don’t know that if I want to leave, Hell itself will not stop me."
Ancient One laughed. "It sounds like you’re one of Hell’s own."
Wang Bert shook his head. "If Master were willing to go to Hell, forget being a Demon King—even Satan’s position would be effortless for you."
"Are you really complimenting me?"
Ancient One was speechless. Then she solemnly instructed, "Use Hell’s power as little as possible. Also, keep your Demon King Clone away from Earth as much as you can."
"Don’t worry. Unless it comes down to the last resort, I won’t let Hell’s power enter Earth."
Wang Bert nodded seriously. Sensing something, he smiled. "The enemy has arrived. The Elders of the Universe truly have broad connections. They actually found a demon god to keep me occupied."
Ancient One warned, "The Elders of the Universe are not as simple as you think. Be careful."
"Don’t worry. I’m not so simple either."
Wang Bert drank the tea Ancient One had brewed, nodded to her, and instantly vanished.
Ancient One shook her head and leisurely drank her tea. Retirement was truly wonderful. She did not have to care about anything and could freely waste time every day.
On Sovereign, not long after Wang Bert left, Blood God, Ivan, Shuri, and the others arrived one after another on the planet that was about to become a battlefield, with Crystal’s help.
Korath did not waste any time and immediately used Sovereign’s resources to cultivate bioengineered high-temperature clones.
Ivan and Shuri, meanwhile, used the excuse of conducting an inspection to sneak off and learn from Sovereign’s control center.
Both Ivan and Shuri were extremely interested in the Sovereign’s quantum technology.
The Sovereign knew their purpose and ordered everyone not to speak to them. Ivan and Shuri did not care at all. With their intelligence, they could learn plenty just by watching.
As Ivan looked over the control console, he analyzed it and nodded. "These Nose-Hole People are annoying, but I have to admit their technology is impressive."
"It is indeed, but our upper limit will be higher than theirs."
Shuri said confidently, "We’re once-in-a-millennium super geniuses, after all."
"I like your confidence."
Ivan admired Shuri quite a bit. Though the girl was young, her intelligence was not much inferior to his or Tony’s.
"I like it too."
Shuri giggled. "I’m moving Phantom Legion’s command center here. After this battle, my Phantom Legion will finally take shape."
Ivan nodded. "My Drone Armor legion will also completely surpass Tony Stark’s sissy legion."
"You two do know there are surveillance cameras here, right? Everything you say will be heard by those Nose-Hole People."
Dr. Banner laughed from the side. He and the Guardians of the Galaxy had been left behind by Annie to participate in the battle.
"You’ve got the nerve to say that? Aren’t you the same?"
Ivan first snarked, then snorted. "So what if they hear us? Do they dare attack us? In fact, I’m already holding myself back. With my old temper, I would have started robbing them long ago."
Shuri asked curiously, "Uncle, what did you do before?"
Ivan gave an "honest" smile. "Nothing much. Just theft, armed robbery, stealing and selling nuclear materials, prison breaks, murder, that sort of thing."
"And you call that nothing? Uncle, you’re amazing!"
Banner and Shuri both complained. Ivan smiled but said nothing more. He was grateful that he had encountered Blood God. Otherwise, he and his father would probably have died long ago and never enjoyed their current glory.
To Ivan, his current life felt almost like a dream, and all of it was because of Blood God.
"Damn it."
High Priestess Ayesha gritted her teeth in fury at Ivan and the others’ conversation. These lowly creatures actually dared to be so arrogant on Sovereign? "If not for Blood God, I would have wiped you all out."
High Priestess Ayesha said hatefully. At that moment, a maid approached with a communicator and said, "High Priestess, the Kree Empire’s Supreme Intelligence wishes to speak with you privately."
"Supreme Intelligence?"
High Priestess Ayesha froze. She did not answer immediately, first arranging her appearance and restoring herself to her most beautiful and dignified state before instructing the maid to activate the communicator.
Once the communicator was activated, a large green face covered in tentacles appeared in the holographic projection. This was Supreme Intelligence’s true appearance.
Supreme Intelligence was not merely a supercomputer. It incorporated the brains of many Kree elites, including philosophers and military strategists, making it a kind of biological computer.
High Priestess Ayesha got straight to the point. "Supreme Intelligence, what do you want with me?"
Supreme Intelligence did not waste time either. It asked, "Did Sovereign create gods?"
"Where did you hear that?"
High Priestess Ayesha was stunned. Sovereign’s greatest secret—why did it seem like everyone knew now? Supreme Intelligence said, "The news has already spread across the Entire Universe. You created two gods: Adam and Eve."
"Across the Entire Universe?"
High Priestess Ayesha was stunned at first, then felt a chill run through her heart. The Elders of the Universe were vicious. They wanted to kill with a borrowed knife.
Two gods—who would not want them? What came next would be like the attack on Xandar, except the target would change from Xandar to Sovereign.
"That’s right, High Priestess Ayesha. Let me ask again: did Sovereign truly create gods?"
Supreme Intelligence asked again, its voice clearly carrying a trace of desire and greed.
Knowing she could no longer hide it, High Priestess Ayesha said bluntly, "What if we did?"
"Excellent."
Supreme Intelligence said excitedly, "High Priestess Ayesha, give Adam and Eve to me, and I’ll resolve this crisis for you."
"Give Adam and Eve to you?"
High Priestess Ayesha asked coldly, "They belong to Sovereign. Why should we give them to you?"
"Adam and Eve no longer belong to you, High Priestess Ayesha."
Supreme Intelligence sneered. "Those two gods will either belong to the Elders of the Universe, Blood God, or some other force. In short, they will not belong to Sovereign."
High Priestess Ayesha gritted her teeth, but she knew Supreme Intelligence was right. With Sovereign’s strength, it could not protect Adam and Eve.
