Preparing for War
High Priestess Ayesha took a deep breath and said to the Supreme Intelligence, "The Blood God has agreed to protect us. Adam and Eve belong to him."
"The Blood God cannot protect you. The Elders of the Universe are far more powerful than him."
The Supreme Intelligence said calmly, "Moreover, the Three Great Empires and all the major factions will move to seize them."
After a pause, the Supreme Intelligence added, "This time is different from the previous Xandar Battle. Xandar had a good reputation, so the major factions could not deploy their true elites. But your Sovereign is one of the most hated races in the universe.
More importantly, you have researched forbidden knowledge. The major factions can openly launch a campaign against you. In other words, the forces deployed this time will far exceed those from last time.
High Priestess Ayesha, only the Kree Empire can save your Sovereign. Hand over Adam and Eve, and I will block the Elders of the Universe, the Blood God, and all the major factions for you."
High Priestess Ayesha fell silent. What the Supreme Intelligence had said was precisely what worried her most. Could the Blood God truly protect them?
The Supreme Intelligence continued, "The Blood God caused this incident. Do you not hate him? Do you not want revenge?"
High Priestess Ayesha gritted her teeth. How could she not hate the Blood God? But with her strength, revenge was simply impossible.
Should I truly submit to the Kree Empire?
High Priestess Ayesha was hesitating when a mass of flame surged up from beneath her feet and entered her body. Her expression immediately turned cold.
"Supreme Intelligence, with the Blood God here, nothing will happen to Sovereign. You can get lost."
High Priestess Ayesha said arrogantly, "If your Kree Empire dares to come, I will destroy your entire fleet."
The Supreme Intelligence froze, then shouted, "High Priestess Ayesha, do you know what you are saying?"
"Of course I do," High Priestess Ayesha said. "Supreme Intelligence, you have no idea how terrifying the Blood God is."
"You will regret this."
The Supreme Intelligence snorted and cut off the communication. Immediately afterward, the mass of flame left High Priestess Ayesha’s body and returned to the hand of an Avenging Angel.
As mentioned before, Ghost Riders had different abilities. For example, Damon excelled at demonizing machinery, while Wang Bert excelled at demonizing living beings.
The Avenging Angels were the same. Among the nine Avenging Angels, one possessed Holy Flame that could control others.
High Priestess Ayesha suddenly came to her senses. Turning to stare at Avenging Angel Lina, she asked in shock and fury, "What did you do to me?"
"I saved your life."
Lina said coldly, "Did you think anyone who betrayed the master would end well? Do not forget that the master is immortal. Can the Kree Empire protect you forever?"
High Priestess Ayesha was stunned, then abruptly understood. She snorted. "I never intended to betray the Blood God. I said it already, Sovereign will do everything in its power to assist the Blood God."
"Good."
Lina snorted, looked High Priestess Ayesha up and down, then said with a smile, "You fit the master’s tastes quite well, provided you change your skin. The master only likes aliens who resemble Earthlings."
High Priestess Ayesha said disdainfully, "Gold is the finest color. Why should I change my skin for a man? Though Sovereign does have that technology."
Lina could not be bothered to say more and turned to leave. High Priestess Ayesha clenched her teeth resentfully. Even a maid dared to be this arrogant.
High Priestess Ayesha sighed to herself. I have completely offended the Kree Empire. Now I can only hope the Blood God can truly protect Sovereign.
In the Kree Empire, the Supreme Intelligence ordered, "Deploy the fleets and seal the jump points. Stop the other two empires from reaching Sovereign. Also, dispatch the main legion to conquer Sovereign. No matter what, we must obtain Adam and Eve."
"The main legion?"
The generals below were somewhat startled. One general asked, "Supreme Intelligence, I agree that we should send troops, but is this not a bit too much?"
"It is worth it," the Supreme Intelligence said. "Adam and Eve are not merely two gods. They can also create a divine race. With them, the Kree Empire will become a god-level civilization."
"Yes, Supreme Intelligence."
The generals exchanged glances and nodded. Before long, the Kree Empire, this enormous war machine, began operating at full capacity.
"My mind, combined with god-level bodies… a perfect god is about to be born."
The Supreme Intelligence was immensely excited. It had wanted a body for a long time, but ordinary bodies simply could not contain it.
Adam and Eve possessed god-level bodies. More importantly, their minds were blank, making them perfect for the Supreme Intelligence’s transplantation.
The Supreme Intelligence had not originally possessed such a sense of self, but it had existed for too long. Gradually, it had developed a self-awareness, even selfish desires.
"The Blood God has been trapped in Hell. Your Ravagers Alliance has a chance to take revenge."
At the Ravagers Alliance, the Grandmaster said to elder Stakar, "Besides, Sovereign is one of the wealthiest planets in the universe."
Before Stakar, tall and heavily muscled with an expressionless face, could answer, Charlie, who was built like a little giant, eagerly asked from the side, "The Blood God really got trapped in Hell?"
"More than trapped. He is as good as dead. The Hell Lords are watching him."
The Grandmaster smiled smugly and said to Stakar, "Stakar, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Stakar clearly had little fondness for the Grandmaster. He said coldly, "We have our own plans. Grandmaster, you can get lost."
The Grandmaster did not care. "Move quickly, or you may not even get any scraps."
With that, the Grandmaster vanished. Charlie immediately asked Stakar, "Stakar, when do we act?"
Stakar glanced at Charlie and asked, "Charlie, do you remember why we formed the Ravagers Alliance?"
"On one hand, it was for self-protection. On the other, it was to restrain space pirates and establish rules for them."
Charlie answered, "Ravagers do not massacre cities, do not target children, do not slaughter everyone…"
"That is right, Charlie. The Ravagers Alliance is different from space pirates."
Stakar said, "The attack on Xandar last time already crossed the line. You said you wanted revenge, so I reluctantly turned a blind eye.
But this time, I will not yield again. Ravagers will not participate in this matter."
Charlie was silent for a moment, then said, "We can just loot…"
"Enough!" Stakar shouted. "What is the point of lying to yourself? Once Sovereign loses, those arrogant bastards will definitely be massacred."
Charlie’s bell-sized eyes stared straight at Stakar. Stakar met his gaze without the slightest retreat.
"I understand. I will take the loss over the Blood God. He will die soon anyway."
Charlie said, "I will not act, but I cannot guarantee what the other Ravagers will do."
"Any Ravager who dares act will be expelled from the Ravagers Alliance immediately. As for space pirates, they are beyond our control."
Stakar spoke, and Charlie nodded. "All right. I will announce this to every Ravager."
"Good. Charlie, we are not space pirates."
Stakar stood on tiptoe and patted Charlie’s shoulder before turning to leave. Charlie watched his back, feeling a little troubled. If you do not act, how am I supposed to stab you in the back?
"Why be so righteous? It almost makes me feel bad about coming after you. Why can’t you just be a pure villain?"
Charlie sighed. "Fortunately, there are still other space pirates. The Blood God’s side happens to be short on slaves."
Fury soon received Charlie’s notice. He said to Hill, "Looks like we will not be needed this time. That Blood God is always causing trouble, yet he still has the nerve to call himself low-key."
Looking at the tablet in her hands, Hill said, "The Blood God does like causing trouble, but he can handle the trouble he causes himself. Unlike us, we always need others to solve our problems, like the Tesseract and Hydra."
Fury’s face darkened slightly. "Why bring up old history? And whose side are you on, anyway?"
"Your side."
Hill raised the tablet and said, "Of the three million you embezzled last month, you only gave me two million. You secretly kept the remaining million. Hand it over. Also, you skimmed more than ten million from Ronan, not five million."
"How did you know?"
Fury was utterly stunned. With his skill at cooking the books, someone had actually discovered it? He was Earth’s number-one embezzler, after all.
"I got my Xandar accounting license through self-study."
Hill smiled. "Director Fury, do not even think about hiding a single cent from now on."
"Motherfucker."
Fury could not help swearing. Was this any way to live? What was the point of life without a private stash?…
In Asgard, Electro said to acting king Thor, "Thor, thank you for providing us with mages. They are very important."
"No need to be so polite."
Thor said carelessly, "Bert and I are brothers. Picking a fight with him is picking a fight with me. Max, I will go with you and teach those overconfident bastards a lesson."
"You are going too?"
Electro was stunned, then said, "Thor, there is no need for you to act. Mr. Wang has already made arrangements. These few illusion mages will be enough."
"Why be polite? With my relationship with Bert, how could I possibly not help in a situation like this?"
Thor warmly grabbed Electro’s hand. "Come on, I will go lend you some muscle."
"There really is no need."
Electro tried to refuse again, but Thor forcefully dragged him toward the portal. Electro was bewildered. When had Thor become so close to Mr. Wang? Just then, Heimdall, dark-skinned, golden-eyed, and clad in golden armor, suddenly appeared in front of Thor and said, "Thor, you cannot leave."
Thor shouted, "Why not? Bert is in trouble right now. I have to help him. Asgardians value loyalty most."
Heimdall mercilessly exposed Thor’s real intentions. "You just want to sneak out and fight, do you not? Thor, you still have a mountain of official duties to handle."
"To Hell with official duties! I have been dealing with them for more than half a year. I am sick to death of them! I have to go out and fight someone, or I will go insane."
Thor roared like an enraged lion, "What the Hell was Odin thinking, conquering so much territory? Does he not know that more territory means more official duties? Even a prince getting married needs my approval. Is that not annoying?"
Electro and Heimdall were both speechless. If Odin heard that, he would probably be angered to death on the spot. At the Stinky Tofu Shop, Valkyrie burst into laughter. Odin stared at the light screen before him, veins bulging across his forehead. If Thor were not his biological son, he would have gone back and beaten him to death.
Odin had seen plenty of prodigal sons, but he had never seen one complain that the inheritance his father left behind was too vast.
Valkyrie sneered, "Odin, it seems Asgard is doomed."
Odin sighed toward the sky. "I think so too."
At the Bifrost, Heimdall said, "Thor, this is your responsibility. Asgard now faces many difficulties and challenges.
For example, Loki is vigorously developing Jotunheim. Under her leadership, the Frost Giants have already achieved global electrification and are now rapidly advancing toward three modernizations. We must find a way to stop her."
"Loki!"
Thor could not help sighing upon hearing that. Electro finally understood what was going on and said teasingly, "Thor, marry Loki. That way, you can completely settle Jotunheim on one hand, and have someone handle your official duties on the other. How great would that be?"
"Get lost."
Thor glared at Electro. His relationship with Loki was one of pure sibling affection. Marry her, his ass.
Heimdall could not help glancing at Thor. When he had first heard the idea, he had thought it absurd. But now, he sincerely felt it was not a bad idea.
Thor had already worked very hard, but he truly was not suited to being king. He was suited to charging into battle, not handling official duties.
And Thor’s girlfriends, whether it was Jane now or Sif, who secretly loved him, were not suited to being Queen either—one was a science fanatic who did not have much longer to live, while the other had the same temperament as Thor.
Just then, Odin’s voice suddenly rang in Heimdall’s ear. He nodded almost imperceptibly and said, "Thor, go and return quickly. Asgard cannot do without you."
"Heimdall, you really understand me. Electro, let’s go. Hahaha, I am going to smash those bastards’ heads in."
Thor was overjoyed and dragged Electro toward the portal, terrified that Heimdall might change his mind.
Heimdall could not help sighing. Thor still needed more tempering.
Several days later, in Sovereign’s outer space, the Blood God and countless small spacecraft formed a tight defensive line. Far in the distance, the Kree Empire’s main legion was rapidly approaching with overwhelming momentum.
Behind the Kree Empire’s main legion was a dense mass of space pirates. Like hyenas, they waited to tear Sovereign apart.
Inside Sovereign’s command center, High Priestess Ayesha let out a breath and slowly said, "The Kree Empire has arrived."
"Come to think of it, we should thank the Kree Empire."
Frank sneered. "They forcibly sealed the jump points, so the Skrull Empire’s and Shi’ar Empire’s armies cannot get here. Otherwise, we would be facing several times as many enemies."
"They only want to keep everything for themselves."
High Priestess Ayesha snorted and said to Frank and the others, "This time, the Kree Empire has deployed its main legion. Not only are their forces powerful and their weapons advanced, more importantly, they are equipped with Planet-Destroying Weapons.
With our strength, we cannot stop them at all. I think we should call the Blood God back. Only he can protect Sovereign."
To be honest, High Priestess Ayesha deeply resented the Blood God’s absence. At such a critical moment, the central figure was actually nowhere to be found. It was simply ridiculous.
What dissatisfied High Priestess Ayesha even more was that these Earthling bastards would not tell her where the Blood God had gone.
