Looks Won’t Allow It

When the sky fell, the tall people held it up. That logic worked anywhere, and the Main God Space was no exception.

The Flying Carpet followed closely behind the Frost Dragon. Duan Xinlan rode a fire dragon and cleared out the giant flying beasts attacking from behind, and they passed through the mountain range without incident.

Around the meteor crater lay hardened black scorched earth, its gullies sharply defined, like cooled lava.

Something strange happened. The giant flying beasts stopped at the edge of the mountain range, circling overhead without daring to take another step forward. After roaring a few times, they turned around and attacked the other Reincarnators.

Russell sat cross-legged on the Flying Carpet and said something thoughtfully to Duan Xinlan. She gladly obeyed and raised a hand, firing a ball of flame.

Boom!!!

The fireball exploded at the giant bird’s rear. The exact location was hard to describe, but in any case, the bird was thoroughly enraged. Roaring, it turned around and beat its wings as it charged toward them, only to…

Stop at the boundary. Its eyes were bloodshot and murderous, yet it did not dare cross that forbidden line.

"Keep going!"

"OK!"

Hearing that, Duan Xinlan became highly motivated and hurled out fireball after fireball. The giant bird was blasted black all over, shrieking in fury until it coughed up blood. Even so, it still did not dare move forward by even a single meter.

On the other side, the Frost Dragon noticed what they were doing. It landed with a beat of its wings and slowly transformed into human form. His teammates had remained standing on his back. Seeing the scorched land’s strange atmosphere, they did not dare venture in recklessly and waited where they were for the other Reincarnators.

At last, the bird with worrying intelligence wailed as it fell to the ground. Its feathers had been burned off, leaving it unable to fly. It had gone bald, but it had not grown stronger. Kicking its two chicken legs, it staggered away.

Russell looked toward the other giant birds while Duan Xinlan stood beside him, waiting for orders. Under the pair’s ill-intentioned gazes, the giant beasts immediately scattered like birds, fleeing far faster than they had arrived.

"Something’s wrong. These giant beasts are behaving very strangely!" Russell pondered gravely. Duan Xinlan, "too exhausted to move," lay in his arms. He was not worried about Supergirl finding out; everyone else could testify that Duan Xinlan had made the first move herself.

"It should be a rule set by the Main God, dividing this place into outer and central regions. They can’t enter," Ying Yingying replied.

"It’d be great if that were all…" Russell stopped halfway through when he saw Ying Yingying glaring at him as if she wanted to eat him. He chose to ignore it and continued, "What I’m afraid of is that there’s something even fiercer inside. This is its territory, and the other giant beasts don’t dare set foot here because of its tyranny."

"Hey, would it kill you to be a quiet handsome man?"

"Sorry, my looks won’t allow it!"

"You’re ugly?"

"Quite the opposite. Even when I’m not quiet, I’m already handsome."

Ying Yingying: "…"

The group waited at the edge of the mountain range. Before long, the other Reincarnator teams arrived one after another. Aside from the Frost Dragon’s group and Russell’s group, Mecha Zord arrived first, wielding a forty-meter sword and advancing without obstruction.

The slowest was the Elemental Giant made of meteors. The moment it stepped out of the mountain range, it collapsed into pieces. The four Reincarnators barely escaped with their lives and lay sprawled on the ground, playing dead.

Seeing the Elemental Giant disappear, Ying Yingying inwardly lamented the loss. She wiped the drool from the corner of her mouth, then joined the leaders of the other Reincarnator teams to discuss their next move.

Of the forty-two Reincarnators, eight had failed to emerge alive. The rest had suffered injuries of varying severity. After drinking two tubes of potion, they barely regained their combat strength.

They had lost nearly a fifth of their manpower, but none of the leaders cared much. Trash that could not even make it through the outer region would only be dead weight if they lived. No one expected such meager strength to be of any use.

After resting and reorganizing briefly, the group continued toward the meteor crater. The two Gundams still led the way, while everyone else tacitly refrained from using flying tools.

With the situation unclear, the higher you stood, the harder you fell!

Before leaving, Russell glanced toward the mountains. Beast roars and bird cries still rang out nonstop. Dog Pack was probably having a great time grinding experience.

The scorched land was barren and desolate. Looking in every direction, there was not a living thing in sight. White steam occasionally erupted from underground, but overall, it could be considered safe.

Yet this safety was merely the calm before the storm. The Reincarnators kept their nerves taut and did not dare let down their guard in the slightest.

As they neared the meteor crater, everyone lined up, somewhat at a loss over what to do.

There was no path ahead!

They had thought the meteor crater would be a monster nest, packed with endless mutated giant beasts, but seeing it with their own eyes proved otherwise.

The sloping, sunken soil was soft and sticky. Crystalline bodies protruded from it, their sharp corners exposed. Clearing away the mud revealed their full forms: triangular prisms that did not seem naturally formed. Their light flickered brightly and dimly, pulsing like heartbeats at remarkably regular intervals.

At the very center of the meteor crater was a circular depression. White smoke rose from a palm-wide crack, making people unable to help thinking of a volcanic vent.

"What civilization does this scenario remind you of?" Unable to reach an answer, Russell lowered his head and asked Ying Yingying, who was practically an encyclopedia.

"There are quite a few scenarios involving crystals, but none are closely related to civilization. If I had to force a connection, it could only be an alien civilization." Ying Yingying looked confused. An alien civilization could explain the mutated giant beasts outside, but the problem before them was that she had no idea where to go next. They could not possibly jump into the lava, could they?

Someone actually did just that. A meteor descended once again and transformed into a rock giant wreathed in flames. Under its caster’s control, it strode toward the volcanic vent.

Fiery magma splashed up, sending wisps of white vapor into the air. Due to its immense weight, the rock giant slowly sank downward.

Five minutes passed. Violent tremors came from underground as the lava within the volcanic vent churned and surged upward like a fountain. The spectacle was immense, and the Reincarnators instinctively backed away.

With a loud bang, the rock giant flew high into the sky before crashing heavily onto the ground. Red molten currents flowed over its surface, while the boulders forming its body were covered in cracks. The flames swiftly went out, turning it into a pile of rubble.

The violent activity in the volcanic vent did not stop. Instead, it grew increasingly intense, as though it might erupt at any moment.

"Back up. Something fiercer is about to make an entrance!"

The rock giant itself could not fly. It had been thrown out, or rather… sent flying by a blow!?

The rock giant stood thirty meters tall and weighed an astonishing amount. Anything capable of sending it flying, even killing it in an instant, was enough to show how terrifying the monster hidden in the lava was.

Rumble rumble!

Molten currents churned as the thick red lava swirled into a vortex. A black island rose to the surface, mountains towering across it in dense layers.

"Roar roar roar—"

A roar rang out like thunder splitting the heavens. Two savage claws emerged and gripped the edge of the volcanic vent. That was no island, but the giant beast’s back. Those blade-like mountains were enormous dorsal fins.

The volcano boiled as a vicious face covered in black scales emerged. Its bloody maw opened wide, lava streaming down its fangs. The prehistoric beast slowly crawled out, its body over a hundred meters long enough to blot out the sky. Behind it, a massive tail comparable to a mountain range swept back and forth through the molten currents.

"Godzilla!?"
