Luster? Luster Is Exactly Who I’m Going to Hit!

At a Demon Stronghold, a seductive woman drank glumly as several shriveled men waited on her.

The woman murmured drunkenly, "My sweetheart…"

"How could you just disappear?"

As she spoke, she began to sob bitterly.

Yet at the sight of this, the shriveled men beside her all lowered their heads and remained perfectly still. Not a single one intended to step forward and comfort her.

After a while, the Bewitching Woman gritted her teeth and said, "It’s all Greyk’s fault. He clearly promised from the start that he’d leave Sweetheart to me."

"And yet it ended up like this."

Just as she simmered with indignation, a non-human figure swiftly entered her tent. "Lord Luster, there’s progress on the matter you ordered."

"A sighting report has come from the front lines."

Upon hearing this, Luster instantly sobered up. A flash of delight appeared in her eyes. "Bring it to me."

The non-human figure respectfully handed the intelligence in his hand to the woman.

As Luster gradually read through the contents of the report, the joy on her face grew more and more obvious.

By the end, the Bewitching Woman’s face was flushed as she crumpled the intelligence in her hand into a ball, then let out an involuntary hum.

After a moment, she looked at the non-human figure before her with eyes brimming with desire and licked her purple lips with her long crimson tongue. "You’re very handsome."

"Stay and keep me company tonight."

However, upon hearing those words, the non-human figure’s legs instantly went limp.

He raised his head and looked at the woman before him in terror.

But before he could say anything, he had already been sucked over by the woman.

Seeing this, the shriveled men around them exchanged glances, all revealing looks of relief.

Goose-feather snow drifted down from the sky. The crystalline flakes landed upon the vivid red and were instantly dyed the same color.

Amid the vast, desolate world, several inconspicuous figures stood atop the snow.

One of them, clad in Red-Blue Armor, muttered in disappointment, "Nothing again…"

At that moment, a female figure suddenly appeared beside him. "Leave first. That disturbance will probably draw the Demon Army here to investigate."

As she spoke, the figures instantly vanished.

When they appeared again, they had arrived at the entrance of a cave in some Unknown Mountain.

After the Armored Man entered the cave, the female figure first furtively surveyed the surroundings, then dragged over a massive boulder to cover the entrance.

The two were naturally Lu Su and Wen Jing.

Several days had passed since they left Jizhou Town.

This cave was the hiding place they had acquired after driving away its original occupants.

Unfortunately, the past few days had yielded nothing for either of them.

Inside the cave, seeing that Wen Jing had already concealed their tracks, Lu Su said with a headache, "The demons we’ve encountered these past few days haven’t had any useful information at all."

However, Wen Jing did not think much of it. "That’s normal. The army only sent squads like ours out to try our luck in the first place."

Although Lu Su knew Wen Jing was speaking the truth, the problem was that he still had Jin Ping’s assignment.

The ideal outcome, of course, was obtaining the intelligence in this mission, then slightly altering the materials and handing them to Jin Ping.

Otherwise, if the Shuběi Army obtained the experiment information elsewhere, he would have to find another way to investigate it.

But he could not say any of this to Wen Jing, so he could only change the subject. "Sister Wen, you’ve already sent back the intelligence we gathered these past few days, right?"

Although the intelligence they had uncovered over the past few days was not what they needed, that did not mean it was useless.

It contained, more or less, information about the Demon Army’s recent deployments.

Wen Jing nodded. "I sent it all back."

Then the cave fell silent, with only the crackling of burning firewood continuing to sound.

After quite a while, Lu Su’s voice rang out again. "Come to think of it, I’ve always been curious about something. Why is the Demon Army still using people to deliver intelligence?"

It was a question he had had ever since arriving in the Shuběi Army.

Great Ming was already using Smartphones. Surely the Demon Army was not still relying entirely on their own two legs?

Besides, he remembered seeing the Demon Army possess relevant high-tech equipment before.

As Wen Jing used a wooden stick to poke at the fire before her, she casually replied, "There are card makers in the army whose cards can intercept their information, so under normal circumstances, they generally don’t use equipment to transmit intelligence."

Lu Su suddenly understood.

There was no helping it. That was the overpowered aspect of cards.

Just like Misaka Mikoto could freely manipulate electronic devices, though Lu Su had not had much use for that ability so far.

Who knew what strange cards similar to Misaka Mikoto the Shuběi Army might have?

At that moment, two vibrations sounded in the cave at the same time.

Lu Su and Wen Jing tacitly took out their phones and began checking the newly received message.

It was a map of the demons’ next operation route.

After reading the message, Lu Su said gravely, "This afternoon."

Since they were not particularly far from Great Ming’s border at the moment, their phones could still send and receive messages normally.

But if they continued deeper into Demon Army territory, there would be no signal.

"Let’s hope this trip isn’t for nothing." Wen Jing stretched her stiff limbs and casually remarked, "But why was the new operation route confirmed so quickly?"

The Demon Army operation routes sent to them by the Shuběi Army could not possibly be completely accurate every time.

Lu Su casually extinguished the fire, then rose to his feet, preparing to have Wen Jing send him to the target route.

Within the deep snow, Lu Su and Wen Jing quietly waited for a rabbit.

A moment later, a figure in a white coat sped past in the distance.

Seeing this, the two exchanged glances.

"We hooked a big fish."

They could both see that meaning flash through the other’s eyes.

After all, only one kind of person in the Demon Army dressed like that: researchers from the Research and Development Department.

Without the slightest hesitation, Lu Su summoned his cards.

The next moment, the Blonde Girl in Blue Skirt Armor was already standing in the demon’s path.

Seeing his way blocked, the demon in the white coat looked grim.

But when he turned to flee, he discovered a Black-and-White Figure radiating an unapproachable aura staring expressionlessly at him.

From afar, Wen Jing silently glanced at Altria and could not help feeling inwardly shocked.

No matter how many times she saw it, she felt that Xiao Luo’s newly made card was far too absurd.

It was not that she was surprised by its strength.

Well, its strength did shock her as well.

More importantly, Wen Jing could sense that every time the Blonde Girl appeared, her strength underwent a tremendous increase.

Both the girl herself and her cards.

"She was simply born for Group Combat."

Wen Jing could not help murmuring inwardly.

Although she did not know the maximum number of people the enhancement could affect, based on her previous experience, it should fluctuate according to their strength.

The stronger the people affected, the fewer their number, and vice versa.

While her thoughts wandered, Ulquiorra was already dragging the demon, who looked like a Dead Dog, toward them.

Seeing this, Lu Su could not help frowning slightly. "So weak."

In his perception, the demon they had intercepted this time was at most Gold Grade.

But recalling that the Research and Development Department did not particularly value strength, Lu Su did not think too much about it.

Soon, Ulquiorra and Altria returned to his side.

"Lord Lu Su."

As Ulquiorra spoke respectfully, he grabbed the demon by the hair and displayed his face before Lu Su.

However, when Lu Su clearly saw the demon’s appearance, his expression turned somewhat strange.

He recognized the other party.

Cliff, a Demon Army R&D Department Level 1 researcher, and also the demon who had assisted Li Shuo with the Demonization plan in Donglai.

Lu Su had not expected them to meet again under such circumstances.

After all, once he had dealt with Li Shuo in Donglai last time, Cliff had long since vanished without a trace.

At that moment, Cliff barely opened his swollen eyes, revealing a miserable smile on his blood-smeared face. "Ultra-High Risk Target, Gun Devil. Upon discovery, report to the nearest stronghold…"

"Lu Su, it really is you."

Yet when Lu Su heard the so-called Gun Devil, the corner of his eye twitched. Cliff’s words made him briefly think he had transmigrated into the set of Chainsaw Man.

But he quickly realized that it was the Demon Army’s new codename for Ulquiorra.

Ignoring Cliff’s words, Lu Su turned and said quietly to Wen Jing, "Sister Wen, he really is a big fish. He knows the Experiment Details."

Upon hearing this, Wen Jing nodded.

However, just as she was about to knock Cliff unconscious and leave, he suddenly shouted, "Lus—!"

The instant the word left his mouth, the demon rolled his eyes back and fainted.

At the same time, a heavy sniff suddenly sounded behind Lu Su. "Finally."

"I caught you."

Hearing that familiar voice, Lu Su’s expression changed.

The next moment, Pitch-Black Spiritual Pressure so dense it seemed impossible to disperse instantly blasted away the snow around them.

Boom!

A deafening explosive sound rang beside Lu Su’s ears, and the enormous impact force hurled him far away.

After rolling several times through the snow, he swiftly climbed to his feet and observed the situation in the field.

What entered his eyes was Altria wearing a solemn expression, as well as Ulquiorra, whose left arm was regenerating as he stood in Second Stage Resurrection.

In the distance was his old acquaintance, Luster.

At that moment, Luster wore a curious expression, though her emotionless gaze swept over Lu Su’s two cards. "Ara~ Sweetheart has become stronger again."

"You’re so delicious now that I want to swallow you whole~"

As she spoke, the Bewitching Woman threw Lu Su a flirtatious glance.

Ignoring the feverish Luster, Lu Su calmly asked Wen Jing, "Sister Wen, can we leave?"

Wen Jing bared her teeth as she tried to activate her ability, then shook her head slightly. "No. It’s been restricted."

As if she had seen through what Lu Su and Wen Jing intended to do, Luster hugged her right hand and lightly tapped her cheek with her index finger, saying with some distress, "Don’t think about it so much, Sweetheart. This time, I won’t let you run away."

Hearing Luster’s words, Lu Su took a deep breath.

At this point, there was only one option.

Fight!

Perfect. He was no longer the ragdoll she could manipulate at will.
