Making Things Worse

Alex looked at the woman and instinctively used telepathy. What he saw nearly scared him to death. This woman was, of all people, the daughter of Adora, Queen of the Nova Empire—the princess of the Nova Empire, Sawa. More importantly, in the Nova Empire, the queen also held supreme command over the Nova Corps!

"Um…" Alex opened his mouth, intending to curry favor with Sawa, but after the words left his lips, he had no idea how to continue. He simply froze there.

Sawa seemed to sense something as well. She suddenly pulled out a gun and fired without a second thought.

Alex snapped back to his senses at the sound of the gunshot. Watching the bullet draw closer, he hesitated for a moment and chose not to dodge. He watched helplessly as it struck his left chest, thinking to himself, Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if this ended here!

The bullet passed through Alex’s left chest. The piercing pain made him cry out miserably. To make it look convincing, Alex did not use any of his abilities and even deliberately suppressed his body’s muscular response.

After crying out, Alex went down with the momentum and passed out as well. Of course, he was only pretending.

Sawa had not expected to take Alex down with a single shot. After staring blankly for a moment, she hurriedly pulled out a large bundle of magnetic restraints and bound him up tightly.

Pretending to be unconscious put Alex through no small amount of suffering. Sawa had no experience at all, and her movements were rough and simple. More than a dozen magnetic restraints left nearly twenty reddish welts across his body.

After confirming that Alex was securely tied up, Sawa paused, then suddenly clapped and laughed. She ran off to the side and, a moment later, pulled out a camera and happily took several selfies, with Alex, tied up like a twisted rope, naturally serving as the background.

Lying on the ground, Alex was practically ready to curse his mother.

Fortunately, just as Alex was truly about to lose his temper, Sawa finally remembered the important matter. She ran to the pilot’s seat and turned the ship around, heading back to Kyln Prison.

At Kyln Prison, the Novas all looked at one another when the ship suddenly returned. Then they abruptly seemed to realize something, and their faces immediately turned ugly with fear.

When Sawa walked out of the ship carrying the tightly bound Alex, every Nova was stunned, before each of them grew excited. No matter what, Princess Sawa had not come to harm, and that was a tremendous blessing for them. As for Alex, they did not care about him in the slightest. Of course, now that Alex had been captured and brought back, the Novas would not mind teaching him a proper lesson.

Alex did not care about any of that. Discovering that he had "successfully" returned to Kyln Prison, the weight in his heart finally lifted.

Just as he let out a breath of relief, Sawa’s voice sounded beside his ear. The longer he listened, the more he nearly burst out laughing. It turned out this princess was quite the braggart. He had clearly let her win on purpose, and she had only fired one shot, but in her telling, the two of them had fought three hundred rounds, shaking heaven and making ghosts weep, followed by a whole lot more nonsense.

Suppressing his laughter, Alex began secretly observing the princess of the Nova Empire.

Compared to the tall and slender Lilandra, Sawa was far more petite. At less than one meter fifty-five, she looked like a doll, and coupled with the Xandarians’ distinctive pink skin, she seemed all the more adorable.

What a shame she’s flat-chested! With a silent sigh, Alex withdrew his attention and began considering what came next. The "prison break plan" had been successfully carried out. Next, he should be locked in the central detention sector, then find someone!

Thinking of that "someone," of whom he had no clues whatsoever, Alex could not help but feel a headache coming on. Without the slightest lead, he had no idea how to begin searching.

While lost in wild thoughts, Alex suddenly jolted awake because of Sawa’s words!

"This guy looks pretty dumb. Do we really need to lock him in the central detention sector?"

Alex now wished he could hypnotize Sawa. If she talked them out of it, would all his efforts not have been for nothing?

Fortunately, not everyone in the Nova Corps was useless. There were still people who understood. A Three-Star Centurion gave an awkward laugh and rejected Sawa’s suggestion. "This guy is vicious and dangerous. He injured quite a few of our people."

"Yes, he should be severely punished!" Alex echoed silently in his heart, while his Psionic Power quietly reached into Sawa’s consciousness. If Sawa dared voice any objection, Alex would risk everything to stop her.

Fortunately, Sawa was a simple-minded royal second-generation heir. She had only said it in passing, and when the Three-Star Centurion refused, she sensibly said no more.

"Furthermore, he dared injure Her Highness the princess. He must be punished severely!" The centurion who had spoken earlier opened his mouth again. He discreetly glanced at the tiny wound on Sawa’s fair hand and declared righteously, "Therefore, I have decided to send him to the core detention sector, where he will never think of getting out!"

Alex had just breathed a sigh of relief, but upon hearing those words, his breath caught directly in his throat, and he nearly fainted from anger! The wound on Princess Sawa’s hand had not been inflicted by him. She had injured herself while tying him up with the magnetic restraints!

Does this count as making things worse? Alex wished he could slap himself. He wondered whether he should take the initiative to reveal his identity, or simply fight his way out.

After thinking it over and over, Alex still chose to continue. He kept consoling himself, I’ll just treat this as a chance to see the legendary core detention sector!

And so, because of the unexpected appearance of Princess Sawa, Alex’s prison break plan succeeded—and failed. Alex was not transferred into the central detention sector. Instead, he was sent directly into the legendary core detention sector.

Alex had originally wanted to see where exactly this core detention sector was, but halfway there, they directly knocked him unconscious. This time, he truly passed out. Even with his immense Psionic Power resisting, there was nothing he could do.

After being unconscious for a while, Alex woke again and discovered that he had arrived on a desert planet. As far as the eye could see stretched a yellow-brown world, while in the far distance, an enormous sandstorm swept toward him at breathtaking speed.

Looking up, he saw not a single glimmer of starlight in the pitch-black sky. With Alex’s powerful vision and keen energy senses, he could not even detect the existence of a star beyond the heavens! More precisely, in every direction he could see or sense, there was not another planet. The planet beneath his feet was the only one in this stretch of universe!

What kind of place is this?! Alex was shocked. He used Teleportation to reach outside the planet, then repeatedly used Teleportation, trying to escape this place.

After several attempts, Alex discovered in astonishment that this was actually a sealed little world! The planet on which he had first landed was the only planet in this little world!

Returning to the planet once more, Alex looked over the vast yellow world and finally panicked. This time, I really made things worse!
