Miss Berwyn
When Einon saw that Berwyn had seen through his little scheme, he did not get angry. He held his head high and looked down at Berwyn with an air of superiority.
After a long while, Einon smiled. "Time spares no one. You’re already this old, yet you’re still wandering around. Do you regret breaking with me back then?"
"You were the one who wanted to break with me," Berwyn snapped angrily. "Look at what you’ve become. Where is the humility and compassion you once had?"
"Humility? Compassion? Hahaha~" Einon laughed so hard he nearly cried. Who was he? He had been a noble Prince from birth, then merely waited to inherit the throne and enjoy the treatment of a King. Why the hell should someone who had won at the starting line be humble?
A young man who wasn’t wild was wasting his youth, brother.
Einon laughed madly a few more times, flipped off his horse, drew the Crusader Sword at his waist, and pointed it at Berwyn. His expression turned cold as he asked, "You want me to pity a bunch of lowly peasants who have no King in their eyes? I am the master of this country. I gave them land and gave them the chance to rest and thrive."
"How did they repay me? I only asked them to do a little work, yet these wretches not only showed no gratitude, they spent every day plotting how to overthrow me."
Einon spread his hands, looking innocent and helpless. "I had no choice. I could only make them understand that death was not punishment, but liberation. I was teaching them how they ought to behave. Why can’t you understand that?"
Berwyn was so enraged by Einon’s twisted logic that his face turned liver-colored. He drew his Crusader Sword and pointed it at Einon. He intended to teach Einon—a man he had once raised like his own son—a proper lesson with the blade in his hand.
"Looks like my teacher wants to give me another lesson," Einon said. Though he appeared calm, inwardly he had raised his guard. In a contemptuous tone, he added, "Let me see how much strength this old man still has."
There was not much to say about their fight. Berwyn’s technique remained, but his strength and speed had long declined through his life of sleeping rough, starving one meal and half-fed the next.
Besides, Berwyn already had one foot in old age, and his constitution had quietly deteriorated long ago.
As for Einon, as a King, he naturally ate his fill of meat every day. He also understood that strength was everything, so the Crusader Sword in his hand was practically never out of reach, and he practiced diligently every day.
Most importantly, he was currently in his prime. How could Berwyn possibly still be his match?
Watching their utterly unexciting fight, Li Feng suddenly had an idea. Stroking his chin, he asked, "Jack, have you ever thought about taking your heart back?"
"What?" Jack froze for a moment. Once he understood what Li Feng meant, he shrugged helplessly. "I only know the magic to give away a heart, not take one back." After a pause, Jack sighed heavily and gave a bitter smile. "Besides, even if I got it back, it would be useless. That half of the heart has already been tainted by Einon’s sinful soul."
Talking about souls in front of me? Li Feng curled his lip. "What if I can help you take it back?"
Jack fell silent for a while, his expression gradually turning serious. "I know Mages have a habit of making deals. So, what do you want?"
"I want to set up an arena for four years," Li Feng said as he worked out the details of his plan in his mind. "I want to hone my fighting skills. You will spread word of my arena and bring the challengers back."
Li Feng took a bracer from his shoulder bag and tossed it to Jack. "If someone defeats me, this artifact that can increase strength by five percent will be their prize." He patted the shoulder bag and added, "I have plenty of artifacts like this. I even have better ones."
"So you want me to spend four years hauling people around?" After thinking it over, Jack nodded. "It seems I’m the one profiting. I accept the deal."
Nearby, Scarface stared greedily at the silver-white, gleaming bracer in Jack’s hand. She narrowed her large crescent-shaped eyes and nuzzled Li Feng with her head in a coquettish manner. Smiling sweetly, she said, "Um, I can be your transport laborer too."
As she spoke, Scarface flexed her muscles. "I’m younger than Jack and have more energy. I can bring challengers back faster."
How could Li Feng fail to see that Scarface wanted an artifact? Still, seeing her change from "this old lady" to acting cute, Li Feng found it amusing and deliberately teased her. "For free?"
Scarface’s face stiffened. Rolling her eyes, she said, "Free my ass. I want a shiny Magical Artifact. For every challenger I bring back, you give me one as payment."
"Get lost~" Li Feng gave Scarface the middle finger. "What if you drag back some scrawny homeless beggar from the roadside and call him a challenger? Am I supposed to stupidly give you an artifact too? Besides, are you sure you want to run all over the world? There’s no good food out there."
Food or shiny Magical Artifacts? Which should I choose? Scarface stood there blankly for a long time before saying gloomily, "I’m not compromising because of the food. It’s because you poor bastard can’t afford to pay me."
Li Feng: Hehe. Even a rich person would go broke feeding you, you damn glutton.
At that moment, Berwyn and Einon happened to finish their battle.
Einon held his Crusader Sword against Berwyn’s shoulder and said disdainfully, "You coward. All you understand are outdated principles and those useless Knight laws."
As a Knight, how could Berwyn tolerate someone slandering the Knight laws? He immediately roared in fury, "You once swore that you would believe in the Knight laws—"
Before Berwyn could finish, Einon cut him off contemptuously. "I never believed in the Knight laws. Back then, I only said what you wanted to hear because I wanted to learn swordsmanship from you."
"Liar! You liar!" Berwyn could not believe anything Einon said. Back then, he had worked so hard to teach Einon to become a good King. He had placed all his hopes on Einon.
What was this supposed to be? Einon had pretended to be innocent when he was young and deceived his feelings like some scheming bitch?
Berwyn felt as if he had eaten shit. It was like finally getting together with a curvy beauty, rolling around in the sheets again and again, only for her to suddenly tell you in a deep, rough voice, just as you were preparing the wedding, that she was actually a ladyboy.
So, what would you be feeling right then?
Berwyn’s answer was that he might as well die, and he was prepared to do exactly that.
Just as Berwyn stopped resisting and prepared to embrace death, Li Feng waved a hand and dispelled his invisibility. Ignoring Einon and the others, he walked to Berwyn’s side and asked, "Do you still think the Dragon Heart corrupted Einon?"
Berwyn ignored Li Feng’s question and instead roared, "Who told you to interfere in my business?"
Oh? Getting bold, are we? Li Feng glanced at Berwyn, who had clearly lost all desire to live. He could tell that Berwyn feared nothing now.
Perhaps his experience of being turned into a sheep no longer meant anything to him. After all, in this world where suicide was the original sin, there were plenty of ways to court death—for example, fighting a pack of wolves as a sheep.
If he was not even afraid of death, what could stop Berwyn from seeking it?
But did he really fear nothing? Li Feng curled his lip and lightly snapped his fingers.
Just as Berwyn felt a chill between his legs and beneath his chin, his chest swell, and a sharp cramp in his abdomen, he heard Li Feng say with a cheerful grin, "Miss Berwyn, kindly roll yourself off somewhere cool."
Miss? Berwyn lowered his head to inspect his body. His face instantly went pale, and he let out a shrill, sweet feminine scream.
"I became a woman?"
Li Feng nodded proudly. "Don’t worry, I’m a highly skilled doctor. Not only did I give you a sweet voice, I also gave you a face that makes people drool. I bet every man would want to marry you. Most importantly, you can have babies too. Whether your husband is human or Dragon, you can become pregnant with adorable children. No need to thank me for giving you a second spring. I’m just that kind."
Your sister’s kindness! Everyone present, whether Einon or the Dragons, instinctively moved away from Li Feng. This was too damn terrifying.
One particularly timid guard even covered his crotch and turned to run. "Mom! I want to go home! I don’t want to become a girl!"
Einon was a King after all. After swallowing hard several times, he calmed himself. His eyes darted about as he said in a trembling voice, "Honored… W-Wizard sir, I am King Einon. Is there anything I can do for you?"
Li Feng gave Einon a half-smile. In his eyes, Einon was already a dead man. What was there to say?
Li Feng beckoned to the red-haired woman. "Please teach Miss Berwyn how to properly deal with her period. Otherwise, if she catches some gynecological disease, I’ll have to trouble myself treating her. What a nuisance."
The red-haired woman forced a smile uglier than tears. After bowing, she replied, "Y-Yes, my lord."
With that, the pale-faced red-haired woman walked toward Miss Berwyn, whose beauty made even her jealous.
With his hands behind his back, Li Feng circled Einon with great interest. "Einon, Einon. You were born a Prince, survived a great disaster, and even gained a Dragon Heart. As long as Jack doesn’t die, you could go bungee jumping without a cord and be perfectly fine. With a protagonist’s setup like yours, why don’t you make proper use of that advantage? What’s the point of tormenting the little commoners under your rule all day? Wouldn’t it be better to use your immortality to expand your territory?"
Me? Immortal? Confusion first appeared in Einon’s eyes before gradually turning into madness. If I can’t die, why should I be afraid of a Wizard? A real man never backs down. There’s only one word for it: fight! I’ll cut off the Wizard’s head and make it a trophy!
At the side, Jack noticed Einon’s intent and shook his head sadly before looking into the distance. He knew Einon was doomed, because that so-called immortal body only applied against ordinary people.
Was Li Feng an ordinary person? Hehe.
Li Feng also noticed Einon’s intentions, but he did not care. With a swift slap, he knocked Einon’s Astral Body out of his body, tore open Einon’s collar, then cast several spells before pulling out half a Dragon Heart and tossing it to Jack. "Einon’s soul is in my hands, and this half of the Dragon Heart remains pure. Now, it returns to its rightful owner."
Jack examined it carefully. Though he found it strange that the half Dragon Heart felt as if it had just been torn from him, he did not ask. After all, it involved magic, and he did not know much magic. Even if he asked, he would not understand the answer.
Jack lifted the dragon scales on his chest and stuffed the half heart back into his chest. Then he prostrated himself before Li Feng in respect and said reverently, "Thank you, Mage."
Li Feng waved to indicate there was no need for thanks. As he transformed into Einon’s appearance and walked toward the trembling guards, he said with a playful grin, "My guards, are you happy to see your great King? Excited? Do you need an autograph?"
